WM Landscaping

I got several projects done through Walter in May 2016 — fake grass installed in front yard, all around fence replacement, seating wall construction with stones to name a few. I am happy with the quality of the job. Walter and his crew know their stuff and with minimal intervention they finished the job to my expectation…
During this process I also had to encounter some not-​so-​pleasant experiences listed below. Hope you guys can learn from these before picking your next gardener:
1. Quotes kept changing on a daily basis… Walter is very casual with the measurements in the initial quote. the result is a significantly under-​estimated quote (for some jobs less than 50% of the actual quote). I initially negotiated on the job price, only to find out the quote has changed and got back to square one… Key take away — be very diligent in measurements at the beginning (do it yourself) and don’t negotiate on the job amount, instead on $/​Ft or $/Sq.Ft. that way if the measurements change in future — you don’t have to re-​negotiate the whole thing…
2. Project took 4 weeks longer than committed timeline… One big reason quoted was the non-​availability of the stones I picked (but that was done long time ago)… His guys showed up at 8 AM and left by noon on most days…
3. Don’t expect any favors (no matter how little they are)… I paid over $ 16K for my project, but had to pay for every small request I had. like weed removal in small areas, removing some small bushes etc… At the end I found myself arguing for $ 50 over one last job request I had for Walter. Its not the question of $ 50, but the willingness to satisfy customers was clearly absent. I am not talking about above-​and-​beyond here, but just bear minimum to show your appreciation towards customers.

The WM company installed a drainage system that had to be replaced — the company that corrected the problem said that the system installed by WM had not been used by competent companies for decades.
We briefly used WM for yard maintenance. When asked to trim some vines, WM workers told us they were allowed only 20 min per yard, and we could have vines trimmed OR mow-blow-&go, but not both. We terminated the service. The workers acted in a furtive manner that did not inspire any confidence. I found what appeared to be human feces in a hidden corner of the yard. I would gladly let anybody working on my property use the facilities, so I was outraged. I started locking my gates after terminating the service.

Walter has maintained several properties for me for the past 2 years.
Never once has there been an issue and when I have a request I receive a response immediately. Being a landscape contractor myself I know a good one when I see one. Thank you Walter and I will continue to send more properties as they come in!

WM Landscaping Rocks! I’ve had Walter and his guys doing my yards for over a year now and I couldn’t be happier. Their attention to detail is awesome. Walter is great to deal with. Whenever I email or call and leave a message, within minutes he emails or calls back. Our yards look incredible. The price is reasonable too!
