Specialties
Bagels: We could boil our bagels just like everyone else. But, then we would be just like everyone else. By steaming our bagels during the baking process, we create a distinctly soft chewy crust. Every day, we bake over twenty different bagel selections.
Coffee: The coffee that we offer at the café is roasted fresh weekly. We order our coffee every Monday. The coffee is roasted, shipped, and delivered within 24 hours. Most customers do not realize that the coffee they are drinking is less than ten days old.
History
Established in 2007.
For fresh, newly roasted coffee and espresso, specialty handcrafted sandwiches, and one-of-a-kind steamed bagels and artisan breads made the right way. Each ingredient in every piping hot cup and fully-dressed plate is held to the highest standard – where homemade isn’t just an adjective describing our food, it’s our commitment.
Meet the Business Owner
Heather L.
Business Owner
OOLALA Café was purchased by Marcus and Heather in April 2007. They took a struggling espresso bar with a limited menu and have turned it into a thriving community café known as Whereabouts. Known to protect our atmosphere (no rude customers here) as much as our homemade dressing recipes (try the balsamic vinaigrette), this minority owned indie restaurant is a welcome addition to the Del. foodie /coffee scene.
At the café, we do things the right way — from our produce (we prep daily with no chemicals only water used to keep them fresh) to our bagels (steamed with a 24 hour secret process) to our employees (everyone starts at $ 9.25 with vacation time for full time employees).
We thank everyone for their support and look forward to having your join our tribe of loyal customers.
