Like the other review here said, this is one of two Payless stores at the mall. It does has a smaller selection, being inside the mall itself, but the employees here were very helpful and friendly. I was looking at a certain pair of shoes, and the manager came up to inform me that their price was actually lower than the tag, due to the current weekend sale. She also helped me find possible alternatives based on what I told her I was looking for.

It’s a well known fact(to me, my close friends, and my credit card bill) that shoes are my kryptonite. I’m fairly stingy about many things, but when it comes to shoes, my theory is quantity over quality. In my mind, it somehow makes sense for me to buy cheap shoes(for the thrill of deals!) but a lot of them so that in the end, I’m still spending a large sum of money. Woe is my credit card bill around the holiday season: c This specific Payless is located IN Newpark Mall itself(there’s another location on the perimeter of the mall that is very close-by, and it’s confusing to tell which is which on Google maps). Because it’s located in the mall, it’s fairly small in size, and their inventory tends not to be as big. Also, they tend not to have as many sales(those bright red tags that boldly display a price that’s usually below $ 15), which slightly deters me from visiting often to indulge in my shoe-shopping frenzies. I will say that the staff here, specifically the manager(Maricela?), are very friendly and accommodating. I’ve bought shoes and picked up online shoes orders here in the past, and they’re always willing to help, although not always with a smile. The manager, however, is extremely capable and knows her store and her policies well. She even remembered me when I came back a few days later to return a shoe that didn’t fit well, and she processed my return in a jiffy. I will say that if you are picking up an online order, make sure you get the invoice that comes attached to your order. For some reason, one of my orders that I had delivered to this location didn’t have a receipt attached. When I went to return one of the shoes, I ran into a snag getting it returned(I did this at the other Newpark Mall Payless). So make sure you keep your receipt with you! As long as the shoes are unworn, there is no expiration date on when you can return a pair of shoes to Payless, which is a generous policy. And because Payless is a chain, you can return your shoes to any Payless. And a word to the wise: American Eagle brand is not related to American Eagle clothing line. I would stay away from the shoe brand – the quality ain’t too hot: x
