Called at 11am today (Saturday) and was told there were two cars in front, but, they could help me in half hour. Drove over and was greeted by Tom who had me fill out some information. Within 20 min or less I was done! Great fast and friendly service! 100% recommended!

This is the first time I have written a review on Unilocal!That is because I am very impressed by the excellent service I have received at MT Smog Check Star Station. I just got the smog check done on my car a couple of days. I called at about 4:30PM and was told that no appointment would be needed. So I stopped by about 20mins later and indeed there was no waiting line. Tom, the owner was very nice, greeting and smiling when I came in. When he worked on my car, he was very gentle and careful. And the process was super quick, I was ready to go just 10mins later.
I agree with other reviews that the waiting was comfortable and clean, with seats, table, water, little fountain etc.
The price is $ 50, which is on the high end as far as I know. But the service is nice and fast, so I would come back again.

It’s that time of year again… no. I don’t mean the holiday lol. It’s smog season! I was researching a place to get my car smogged since I never found a decent place to go to consistently in the past until I came across MT Smog Check Star Station in Newark CA.
The moment I walked in I was greeted and helped IMMEDIATELY. Customer service is critical for new customers and I was impressed with the initial «greet and smile» combo. which not a lot of places do nowadays which is what drives money away. Plus, there’s a nice little waiting area with a TV, water dispenser and a little waterfall for that «zen» feeling.
The owner was efficient with the inspection, quick with the smog, and gentle with my car as if it was his own.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for those who needs to get their baby smogged and I will be coming back here next time.

Took the BFs 1990 Nissan Maxima for a STAR smog check. We made an appointment online but we didn’t really need it because we were the only ones there. Service was quick and we were in and out in about 10 minutes! The waiting area has free Wifi, tv, iPad and water to keep you happy while you wait. We passed smog and left very satisfied with the whole experience! Definitely would recommend this place for your smog check!

We just bought a used car and needed a smog check in order to get it registered. We just took a chance with this place since it was on the way to the DMV. We were accommodated immediately. The waiting room was nice and clean. And service was fast. Very friendly staff. This is now my go-​to place for smog checks each time I need to register my cars. Great job guys!

Awesome smog place! They were very quick on smogging my car and very courteous! The lobby area is a bit small but it’s cozy and there’s TV in there for you to kill time (if there’s even any wait needed). Very clean as well.
It’s way better than bringing it to a packed gas station where its dirty and you don’t even have an area to sit. This place gets a thumbs up in my book.

My regular mechanic location was not currently performing smog checks so I searched for an alternate provider here. I read the reviews for a couple of locations and decided to give this location a try. I arrived shortly after the reference 10:00 AM opening time and thought I would have to wait a short time due to a couple of cars in front of me (including a motor home already in service). To my surprise there is now a way that smog test can be performed by a remote device and my smog test was completed at the same time as another vehicle. Great fast service. I know my future smog tests will be at this location.

I used to go to gas stations for smog checks but over the years the prices have gone up way high and wait times would be about an hour or more. I was in the newark area and decided to look up some smog check stations and found this place and it looked promising. Super friendly owner and quick service (10 – 15 min). The waiting room is super nice and air conditioned, especially on a really hot day!

I’ve used their services before and they’re really helpful. Fast service and clean environment. If you have any questions, ask away! I made an appointment today at 3pm but didn’t make it til 3:20pm and they still gladly took care of my car. They do honor their Unilocal check in discounts with no catch like other places. I purchased the Unilocal deal ($ 45 for $ 60) and drove up without an appointment. There was no wait, although I should mention there isn’t a ton of parking since the shop shares parking with several other businesses. Not the end of the world, since the tech will quickly move you into the shop for your smog check.
There was a waiting area with an iPad, water, tv and a couple magazines. The entire process took about 15 minutes. My car passed; he did not attempt to charge me anything additional or upsell in any way. Very quick and painless. Five stars!

Conveniently located right off the freeway. However, they can be hard to spot from the street so keep your eyes peeled for their sign.
Anyways, our car actually failed (gasp!) the smog test because we had just replaced the battery a day prior. The tech was kind enough to explain to me why it failed, and to come back after driving 80+ miles. I did, and it passed!
Wait time is short (about 10 minutes), service is good, price is reasonable, and they have a nice, waiting room with a TV, water, magazines, and chairs. I called in on both days and they were able to see me right away, although it was during the week, so weekends may be busier.
