Lids

They ignored me because they were too busy listening to a baseball game.

Decent selection, kind of small compared to other Lids I’ve been to. Customer service really depends on who’s working there when you go. I’ve had really good experiences and a couple bad ones. IF you’re just looking for caps though, this is the place to go.

Came into the store and a nice sale lady help me out. Quick and painless. She didn’t try to over sale me or anything. She was polite and ask if I needed any help and even help me put it back when I said I don’t want this one. The store is pretty small and has a lot of bay area hats. Good to see that, but I’m a Detroit tiger fan this year.

March 26^th Thursday 12:50pm.
One white guy working and I’m the only one in the store.
The whole time he’s on the phone talking to someone about buying a car and how he’s going to the att booth to use their iPad for a bigger screen. lol
He doesn’t ask if I need him. I go up to him and ask if he had an A’s hat in 7 ⁵⁄₈ or 7 ½.
He checks all the drawers and after like two minutes while still talking on the phone (check your guys store phone bill for proof)
He finally grabs the hat. Then he goes behind the desk. Takes the alarm shit off. Rings it up. Puts it in a bag.
Then tells me the total. I tell him «bruh I need to try it on first»
At this point I’m not buying the hat. I try it on fits perfectly. But am not gonna give this business any of my money wtf. You don’t clock in and talk on the phone thinking your sales gonna just come to you.
I walk over to that other hat place across. They don’t have what I want but the guy was nice so I bought two hats
Soon as I left lids I told the guy nice customer service and to check this nice little Unilocal review I left for him.
Next time I come here this guy better know how to work. Or else.

Cool local shop but very very small selection. I have a big head and like to wear snap backs and they had very limited choices. I was able to find 2 really nice hats after looking for about 15 – 20 minutes though. They had buy 1 get one half off so I did that as well as become a card member ($ 5 and you get $ 5 off every SnapBack or $ 7 for each fitted) because I plan on buying more hats. Service could have been better employee was just standing there and I had a few questions which he was unable to answer.

If your an A’s fan this is the place to go, im from the southbay and most of the hat stores around there don’t carry much A’s hats and the ones they do carry are always way to big for me (my hat size ⁷¹⁄₄). This lids has all the hats an A’s fan would ever want.

Hats are my favorite piece of apparel, and I am a card carrying member of Lids, but the Newpark Lids falls short in their inventory and technology. My biggest gripe is the trouble they have had for literally years with their scanning of the member discount cards. I have been asked to come back in a ½ hour for the system to reboot, only to come back, and it still doesn’t work. And when it doesn’t work, they won’t do anything for you. They will not override, call Corporate, provide you with a discount, anything, If I have the time, I would always prefer the online store over this physical location, but sometimes I need a hat, and this is my closest Lids. If you find yourself between Newpark and Stoneridge, and Lids is your chosen destination, head to Stoneridge or your computer.

u know u back in the bay when u enter lids. wooo. feels familiar. they still have plenty customs of the home team hats. juuuussst enough to rep it but not be flaming. whoever was smart would level up the bay area tshirts to go with the hat. but when im picking a hat goes by process of elimination most of the time. 7 ¾ big head crosses out the small fitted, theres only few cities i been so that crosses out the other cities, too old for the cartoon ones etc and if my criteria doesn’t land on one, then somewhat SOL on that day. lol. so das my excuse for puchasing hats at a slow rate. help me help uuuuuu
