The sales and the techs are great. I do not agree w/​those jerks and a**hole that give the store 1 star, with my experience the techs at the store done everything they can and advise/​recommend to the customer before they do any kind of repair. The sales person has more knowledge than those at frys or bestbuy. If sales person do not the answers, they help you do a bit of research to get at the right answers, don’t be a dumb ass and not ask for help. Even the deaf people can write and ask for help. I only took 1 star off, due to the duct tape highway on the carpet.

Just called to see if they sold used laptops. I need 2 or 3 for my shop asap. The guy acted as tho I insulted his family.
Then I went I ask about new laptop options and he hung up.
This organization won’t be seeing any of my money.

$ 30 diagnostic fee which includes disconnecting and reconnecting all your hardware, that’s a steal. I was previously paying $ 90 for this fee.

Just stood here for 30 minutes ready to buy a few SSD’s for my computers but I was never even acknowldged. Even one of the workers went up to the SSD case where I was standing, opened ot to take something out from it and never even made eye contact with me once. Going elsewhere to purchase my stuff.

I needed a new power supply for my laptop. I brought the latop in and they still sold me the wrong one and wouldn’t accept the return. Never coming back

The worst. Laughably horrible service… it’s most likely a front for the Yakuza, because they sure as hell don’t care about your business. lol

Got a virus on my PC laptop so I decided to come here to get it fixed. Paid $ 130 and was told it would be ready in 2 days. Like they said, they called me to pick up my laptop on the 2^nd day so j came by. Before leaving the store I opened up my laptop and double checked to see if everything was working. Apps were all messed up, couldn’t open them, Microsoft office was all messed up, and the Internet was still acting up with pop ups and stuff. Let them know and they said they’d keep working on it. Got a call from them 5 days later saying that everything was fixed. I came back again and made sure everything was for sure fixed. Apps were completely gone, my music files and programs that I’ve had for 10+ years were wiped out and all they had to say was «sorry.» I let them know that they’ve had my laptop for over a week and I had to come back 3 times and the laptop was worse than how I brought it in. The tech that helped me named Max wasn’t sympathetic at all and only offered a $ 30 discount after he and his company just wiped out all my important files. They didn’t even offer to back up my files (a service they provide) or anything as a remedy for the inconvenience. Central computer is the worst place for customer service and they don’t care about what they do to your computer. No call for a heads up or anything. Just expected me not to notice and be on my way with a busted computer. I’m NEVER coming back and I’m letting everyone know. I HATE THIS PLACE. Managers didn’t even offer me anything.

I’d rather make my own cable than come back here again.

Worst customer service ever. The owner is arrogant and rude. I came in wth a tote bag and was told to put in their nasty lockers. They have a sign that says «Backpacks must be put in lockers.» So if youre with your husband and daughter and wearing workout clothes carrying tote bags beware they descriminate! Save yourself the harassment and buy it it on AMAZON or FRYS.

This place was terrible. I spilled water on my macbook and brought it here to get fixed. This costed me $ 300 total for repair. Once I got my laptop back running applications was so slow. I checked to see that my memory went from 4 to 2. I brought my laptop back to them and complained. The owner argued with me for five minutes claiming they never touched the memory. I had them open it and look at it and it turns out they didn’t put it back in all the way. The next couple of days I noticed that the screws on the bottom were falling out. They can’t even put the screws back in properly! Next, I find out that my hardware is damaged. The encryption for it was changed as well. Took it to the apple store and they had to wipe out my hardware to get it working again. Lost all of my work. Terrible service!

This place has the worst customer service. I have been here twice. The first time customer service was bad but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Second time I was greeted with «do you need something? We close in 5 minutes» Never again!

My laptop has a virus they wanted to charge me $ 129 to fix it. I said no I found another shop that would do it for $ 80 and in the same day. Customer service here is very bad, their English isn’t very good so you can’t understand anything they are talking about.

You’re going to see a whole lot of «the manager is a massive jerk» if you scroll down, and there’s a reason for that. The manager of this specific Central Computers is a massive jerk.
I was mostly happy to find a computer store that wasn’t Fry’s and had a good, slightly more esoteric selection of hardware. Until I had to return a motherboard they sold me that had been open box and had bent pins in the CPU socket. This isn’t a complex exchange: the motherboard came with bent pins, I return it for a refund, you send it back to the company for RMA.
Of course that’s not actually what happened. What actually happened is that the manager initially refused the refund entirely, shoved a phone in my face to talk to his home office or whatever, I have to explain to her «look, the pins are bent in such a precise way that I would’ve had to manually go in there with the world’s tiniest tweezers just to create that kind of damage,» argue with her for ten minutes, the manager has wandered off by the time she and I are done arguing, *I* have to track *him* down, argue with him for another ten minutes, and then as he finally acquiesces he actually tells me «I’m losing money on this, I hope you know that.»
Really?
I work for a major computer hardware company. Returns and RMAs are a fact of life. Get a helmet.

I came here to buy computer parts and a few other accessories a couple times in the past year. Service has always been mediocre, and it feels like the manager here just wants to get your money and kick you out.
I came a few times dressed as your average college student, tank and shorts with sandals, and the manager came up to me twice to tell me to hurry up and get out.
I also bought a Lenovo Thinkpad here a few years ago, was altered but sold as is. I found this out when I was purchasing additional ram and it wasn’t the same type that matched Lenovo’s website.
All in all I would highly recommend against purchasing stuff here until they get a manger change at the very least.

There is always some issue with the purchases here. Other branches has been fine. One time came in, I was ordered to my bag outside of the store so i left. Another time purchased 1600Mhz DIMM which turned out to be 1333Mhz but was labelled as 1600 Mhz. Last time purchased IDE to SATA power converter turns out to be junk as the gender does not match with the power supply. I am increasingly starting to believe they sell bunch of junks.

Bought a hard drive here during the pre-​yelp days. The price went down a day after I bought it so went to this store to get a price adjustment. The manager refused to give me an adjustment. When I told him I’d like to return the unopened hard drive, he angrily said he won’t give me a full refund — but receive the current sale price OR choose to leave the store. Before that experience, I used to buy equipment there all the time; unfortunately, I’ve never went back there and don’t regret taking my business there somewhere else.

My laptop cover was not able to close because one of the hinges was broken. I tried to close it one day, and it started to crackle and pieces of the laptop started to fly out. Not a good thing…
So I went into Central Computers last week, and they got the laptop back to me in one week. I wish they could have gotten it back to me sooner, but I understand that there might be a high volume of computer repairs during this time of the year.
They did a great job! The hinge is now fixed, and I can open and close my laptop. Even though the hinge area is a little scratched up (probably had to pry it open to put it back together), it now works — which is all that matters to me.
Also, there’s a student/​faculty discount going on right now! It was 10% off for services/​repairs. So you should definitely take advantage of that.
Overall, I had a good experience here. The staff were really helpful, my laptop is fixed, and I got a discount. Definitely check out this place if you’re in the area!

On Thursday we needed an external hard drive to transfer some media to a client. Not having two days to wait for Amazon Prime to deliver one to my door, I sent my PA to pick up a drive at a nearby shop.
The closest shop was Central Computers. Holding my nose, I approved the purchase, which after doing some research, cost us an extra $ 50. How any retailer can consistently charge 30% and more for items and still be in business is unclear to me. Are there really that many people making last minute buying decisions?
But alas, here they are. And buy we did. Everything went well, seemingly. But today on my way to FedEx, I «luckily» plugged her in to make sure all the media was in place.
Lo and behold, the overpriced drive did not work. I made my way over to Central Computers to return it, explaining that the drive was not be recognized by my computer. Disk Utility tells me:
«Unable to write to the last block of the device.»
As you might expect, I asked for a refund, but was told I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. AYFKM? It doesn’t work! Please refund. No sir, no can do.
Fine, I say, take your 15 bucks. Thinking loudly in my head, it’s the last 15 you will see from me!
But then, to make it worse, he looks in the box and sees that there’s mo manual. «You don’t have the manual, I can’t take it back.»
I told them thanks and to keep on eye on Unilocal for the nice review I would be writing when I got home. If I change one person’s mind, I have exacted my revenge.
Go to Fry’s, Best Buy, use Amazon. Don’t waste your time and money here.
Customer service matters, more so now than ever in light of the fact that we can shop online. But it matters even more when you sell a defective product. And it matters much more t han that when you charge 30% higher prices than your competitors who will deliver the same product to my doorstep (and practically for free if you’re using Prime enough.)
Goodbye, Central Computers. Maybe I’ll come see you for the «store is closing» clearance.

Came in here today cuz it was across the street from AYCE Indian food.
I was looking for a part for my Iphone5, a 30 pin to 8 pin connector; which they did not stock. yet. No one came to help me, so I asked the attendant at the cashier area about the part and he didn’t know of when they would stock it. At least he came out to look around for me.
They did have a nice selection of bumpers and covers for the iPhone5, starting at $ 7.95 for a basic bumper with clear back side, but nice. And for $ 14.97, you can get a quality clear full cover. They stocked other colorful covers for the same price and up.
Parking: plenty, this place is about two lights from the 880 fwy.
