My boyfriend and I were exploring NewPark mall and started to get a little hungry, so we came here for lunch. The menu looked good. We both ordered the seafood/beef combo tofu soup. Our dishes came out fast with a bowl of rice and three side dishes. Food was quite appetizing! We both finished everything and left happily full. However, service seems to be lacking here. The workers seem a bit cold and unresponsive. If they were a bit more friendly and welcoming, this place would be entirely better. I would consider coming back if I’m ever in the area again. Overall, I give this place a solid 4 stars.

It’s nice to know that you don’t have to drive to Sunnyvale or Santa Clara to get Korean food. I got mushroom soon dubu jjigae – tofu stew. I was asked how spicy I wanted it. It came with a few ban chan – side dishes – including some chap chae noodles, along with rice. Since it’s in the mall, they’re probably providing side dishes that won’t offend non-Koreans. Strangely, it didn’t continue to boil as long as it would from other places. The taste was good. The ban chan didn’t have much appeal, but for the price, I didn’t care. All told, with raspberry iced tea, it came to a little over $ 11.00, which is about where I start in Sunnyvale. Service was friendly and efficient.

Food here is so so but better than the comparable options in the food court. So why the 4 stars? Because the kimchi is here is GOOD…

Haven’t been here for several years, and ventured back today while at Newpark Mall. Excellent food, fast service, great prices and great sized portions. Clean inside and friendly service!

Wow, who would’ve thought to having Korean food in a mall!?? Not to mention it’s #NewparkMall in Newark… Came here for lunch on a Sunday and while it wasn’t busy, there were a few tables being occupied. It’s actually a pretty big place, and they have their own location in the mall. It’s not located inside the food court. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not your fancy style Korean food, but for the mall, it’s pretty decent. I know right, who would’ve thought the mall has pretty decent Korean food? Anyways, we ordered a Beef Tofu Soup and it came with a few banchans and rice. Ordered the Beef Bulgolgi and it came with White Rice and Clear Noodles. Honestly, for mall food and it being Korean, it wasn’t too bad. It’s not bad to give it a try. The prices are maybe a bit high for being located in a mall, but being in the mall must mean high rent.

This place has great Korean food! If you’re in a hurry and want some Korean food to go, this is the place for you! If you’ve ever been to Sorabol, this place is very similar. You can never go wrong with the spicy pork with noodles, rice, and veggies :)

Beef/seafood combo tofu soup: for $ 10 you can have two servings of rice, sides of fish cake and kimchi, and watery soup with pieces of soft tofu floating around. I know why the soup’s so watery. So I can mix it with my generous rice portion, right? And beef? Oh, this is beef tofu soup?! I never would’ve known! I thought the little finger nail sized chunks were for decoration: D You know, I don’t even blame them. Mall rent must be high AF and Newpark’s popularity is on the same level as that mall in Cupertino(Cupertino has a mall? What?)

I’ve been coming here for years with no complaints. The food is always fresh and tasty. Yes, it’s mall quality Korean, but what do you expect. Their prices are reasonable, but a bit on the pricier side for sushi, kalbi or soft tofu soup. I generally get the vermicelli(japchae) bbq chicken plate, but have tried almost everything on their menu. The people working aren’t overly friendly, but aren’t rude either. I would recommend you give it a shot and make your own judgement!

Peace, Love, and Hi Seoul!!! This place makes me want to do the happy dance! I love their chicken, the noodles, the kimchi, the vermicelli noodles, and the bbq short ribs. I typically only order the BBQ short rib plate, because it’s the best! It’s $ 11.95. Seems a little pricey but the portions are insane! I’ve seen couples split it, or you can do what I do and space it out for 2 meals or one meal if you’re PMSing. Apparently, it’s owned by a family, so I like supporting the Mom and Pop shops. The daughter sometimes has teenage angst and ‘tude or whatever, but that’s ok. I go for the food and it’s not full service anyways. The only reason why it’s not 5 stars is because their drinks are a little overpriced, thai iced tea isn’t that great, and the side veggies lack flavor. Most girls go to the Mall to shop. I go to NewPark Mall for my Café Hi Seoul fix!

Never knew this place existed behind the Newpark Mall until my friend told me about it. Been here about 4 times now. I rate it about three and a half stars. The place is a good size for a lot of groups/families. It’s more like the food court style. There are some food menus that they cook fresh like the beef or chicken, or you get what has already been cooked on the trays. I liked the spicy pork and beef. Their spicy is not spicy at all. I ordered medium spicy for tofu veggie soup and it was just freshly cooked and mildly spicy only. It’s really good though and very filling. It came with a few sides and rice. We have ordered sushi rolls here or charshi and it was ok but you can tell the fish is not as fresh. I would only go for the Korean food and not the sushi. The prices are very fair and good for a quick meal.

Hi Seoul is my favorite place to come to when I want to have a convenient dinner. The prices are cheaper than most Korean places, and the food is decent enough. The only thing is quality has gone down in recent years. When you eat the Spicy chicken, the meat is a little tough for taste. Same as the BBQ chicken. If you want quality food, try the Tofu pots, which still taste well. The staff is extremely friendly. It is family owned, and the owner(a kind Korean lady) also gives you extra helpings if you are a regular customer. Her daughter is a bit more stingy. But still, it satisfies when you’re hungry in the afternoon.

I got soondubu jigae, otherwise known as «Soft Tofu Pot» on the menu. It cost 8.95, I believe, and I also got thai iced tea for 1.85. The service was super friendly, but they had some issues with the cash register, causing them to charge me 21 for my meal. Mistakes happen, don’t really care. All that matters was that they were nice and courteous about it. 4 stars for service. On to the actual food. The thai iced tea was a little overpriced, not very good, and full of ice. 3⁄5. Soondubu jigae was okay as well, a little too salty for my taste. I got it medium spicy because I had no idea how to gauge the spiciness. Get it full spicy, not medium. Thank me later. It was nice how they gave you the option to crack an egg into it. I got combo(beef and seafood), and the beef and octopus bits were extremely small– you could barely taste the actual meat. One single clam, two super small shrimp. Banchan was included with rice– kimchi, four pieces of steamed broccoli, a suuuper small salad with ranch on top, odeng, and japchae. 4⁄5. I didn’t expect the banchan, extra star for that. Overall, 3.5. I’ll round it up because I have fond memories of eating here in the past with my friends from when it was still sorabol.

My dad frequents this place out of habit, and I honestly don’t understand why he keeps coming back. It’s way over priced for the quality of the food. My family and I got lunch there today(my dad’s suggestion) and I decided to get a(generic) California roll. It set me back a good $ 6. I’m pretty sure I could have gotten the same thing(but better quality) at Fat Fish for half the price! Also, it just annoys me how I have to pay $ 2 for a $ 1 Arizona green tea. You’re honestly better off eating something else at this mall.

The place is clean, quick service and friendly waitress. I ordered the grill chicken and there is a freezer burnt taste to it. Brought home some of the noodle and it became v starch and sticky after a day. The Kim Chee was v good.

Unbalanced and expensive. If you go to any Korean place, it’s pretty much all you can eat kimchee and such to balance out the meal. This was a better place when it was Sorabol.

This place has been around 6 – 7 years and recently changed their name. Food is still the same though. Not that it is a bad thing. The food is decent overall. The ribs are my favorite which they grill right in front of you. The BBQ chicken is good too. The noodles are just so so. Interestingly they serve sushi as well and I am positive I am never going to have it here. Service was friendly and they were Korean based on the accent.

My fave place to go to if I’m craving for some delicious BBQ short ribs. I love that they cook the short ribs right when I’m ordering instead of having it already out there. So it is hot &YUMMY whenever I get it. I come here whenever I work :)
