I just bought a new dinning room table and was very happy with the service and product that I received. The original table was damaged during installation by the delivery company and they were able to file the insurance claim and send a new table with out any issues. I would definitely recommend this place based on my experience.

Want to give this place one star as pretty annoyed, but I do accept a lot of their goods are interesting and while obviously many are copies, some items seem original and there does seem to be some decent deals for items made of solid wood and not the dreaded veneer or chipboard that IKEA has made us expect in life. But the service is atrocious. –Extremely rude. –On the phone 95% of the time, including to take a personal call half way thru talking to me. — Told me an item was in stock, went for a walk to think about it, came back 20 mins later to buy and told actually they don’t have any more but could get some in for a weeks time. — Told I could buy one of display, «if I had to» and then just answered a personal call/ — Many items clearly very substandard. Some items clearly better — Few prices around the store, asked for a price and then checked it online while out as I had suspisions, and sure enough the $ 160 was online for $ 120 By all means go and you may be tempted, but I don’t expect many to have a good experience or the produce to last.

I visited this store once when it was empty. That didn’t stop the salesman from completely brushing me off when I asked to order a few items. He didn’t even acknowledge my presence in the store. When he finally finished tooling around on his iPhone, I was told that I would have to wait 6 – 8 weeks for most of what I wanted. I thought this odd, considering the half-dozen locations across the city. When I pressed about other stores, he begrudgingly offered to call– all the while saying«They’re not going to have it, either.» If this is indicative of all of White’s salespeople, you need a serious attitude adjustment. Pleas be aware that you are peddling mass produced knock-offs of mid-century designs. And why is the wait for out-of-stock pieces abnormally long? Perhaps it is because this furniture is primarily made overseas. Search the internet if White doesn’t have what you want. Odds are you can find anything they have in stores online(or from an importer) for cheaper and have it delivered in less time.

Furniture shopping is a frustrating chore because we don’t do it all the time, and thus it’s difficult to know what the best places and prices are as we would for a carton of milk. I was very lucky when I moved into my recent chinatown/tribeca apartment to have this place right around the corner. Most«modern» furniture was developed between 1900 and 1970, not quite as modern as we’re led to believe. Usually you can only find these furniture designs(Eames, Saarinen, etc.) at DWR, Room and Board, and other high priced stores like them. It seems crazy to me that furniture concepts that were developed so many years ago could still cost so much today. Fortunately, that’s where White Furniture comes in. They sell, as far as I can tell, exact versions of most of what we identify today as modern furniture but at a fraction of the price. Their inventory turns over a fair amount and they don’t always know what they’re getting, so you’ve got to check back every once in awhile to see what’s there. Sales staff is also very nice and helped me carry some items to my apartment.

I think this is the original location for White Furniture, although there are several now all over the city. It’s an awesome place to find really good knockoffs of all your favorite contemporary furniture pieces. I have my eye on a Noguchi-like coffee table and some Eames chairs!
