Business Owner

As a founder of Ween & Kozek, Michael’s goal is to provide dedicated, high-​quality representation to tenants, artists, and entrepreneurs. His practice highlights real estate, trusts and estates, and art law.

Michael’s approach to litigation incorporates vigorous advocacy and application of the law, and the crafting of creative, yet rational and policy-​driven arguments that impact the development of the law and future cases. He handles all aspects of litigation, including pre-​litigation strategy development and litigation preparation through settlement negotiations, trial, and briefing and arguing of appeals.

Michael has represented numerous tenants in landlord tenant disputes, defended tenants in eviction proceedings and represented clients in transactional matters, such as purchases and sales and conversion of real property to condo or co-​ops.

Michael is a Brooklyn Law School graduate and a regular contributor to the New York Times «Ask Real Estate» column.
