Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. The food was below average and priced way above its worth. Our waiter did a poor job communicating. We only stopped here because we were starving and regretted it immediately.

This lovely DINER is close to the days of the old Village before it was taken over by corporate NYU. Food is good. Service is good. The owner is a doll. Just a great all around place.

Consistently good diner food with fast delivery. I find their prices a bit better than Waverly. Do yourself a favor and try their fresh roast turkey sandwich. One of the best. Also great sweet potato fries.

I’ve been passing by this place for over 35 years without ever stopping in until the other night. My loss. Clean, well lit diner next to Golden Swan Garden, it’s a rare gem in Manhattan. A two story stand alone diner with windows looking out into the garden and onto 6th Avenue. As for the food, good stuff. I had a chocolate egg cream and a Texas Burger Deluxe with cheese(A cheese burger deluxe with a fried egg on top). Service was very attentive. My water glass was never empty. Price was good too. Total was $ 17 with tip. I will return.(Better late than never)

Late night, after watching a play in brooklyn we stopped by west village before heading to penn station for our death march home. couldn’t find anything to eat so we came here. This place has some interesting personalities and individuals. A dude acting like he was having acid flashbacks. A noisy group of young ins nearby who were talking extremely loud, most likely drunk but maybe just obnoxious all the time. this place has a lot of different types of weird people but that’s also kind of the charm. this is nyc, so the fact that the tables were really small and tight is to be expected. but the tables were also really high, which is just weird, but I guess it’s so it can accomodate taller people while merely annoying shorter people. My friends are health concsious people so they got egg white omelettes, while i ordered the chicken souvlaki with tziki sauce and french fries. the tziki sauce was not real tziki sauce, honestly it just tasted like mayo. the chicken was overcooked. the fries were pretty well done though but i didn’t eat that much of it because i was getting fat shamed by my friends. not explicitly, but i could tell that they were making mental notes to bash me later with. it was late though and i was snickers hungry which is why i ordered that nastiness even while in the presence of my food nazi friends. all in all, a pretty cool experience. food was mediocre, but it is worth it just to see the crowd that comes rolling in. can’t say i will be back since i don’t live in nyc, but it was a good memory.

Eh… what can I say it’s your typical diner. Came here with two other people price came to about $ 50 bucks. The waiters were nice. There was a language barrier our server though. The guy Who ran the establishment was extremely nice. Not my first Choice of places to go but by all means — its not a terrible.

I loved the food here and the service is SUPERFAST. We legit ordered like 5 minute, and then got all our food. We ordered the pancakes; lumberjack, blueberry, and chocolate. This is such a convenient spot because its right outside the W4 train station. The waiter was nice and we got so much butter and syrup. Ambiance: It was really american diner, but buzzing at 12:30pm for brunch. Food tasted good! I think it was more BIG portions than individually tasting different. I had a bite of the chocolate pancake and it was super sweet but my friend finished it all. Huge portions and speedy kind service. GOFORIT! :)

Although the food was fairly decent as far as diner food is concerned and the atmosphere was very old style diner(which makes sense since its in the Village) the service was HORRID. It was kind of late after a planning committee meeting so 3 of us went after just to have something small to tide us over until morning. We ordered one sample patter of appetizers and two drinks. We waited about 15 minutes for our food to be served, so it came out fairy quickly however we never received our drink which surprised us since the waiter supposedly wrote something down. However, when our food came he responded, «Oh, you wanted drinks?» Needless to say, we showed our disappointment with the amount of our tip. We understand that this industry survives on their tip money so weren’t going stiff him however, we made sure that he saw our point by how much of a tip we gave him.

I went to this restaurant for a late lunch on 2⁄13. I was staying in the Washington Square Hotel, so the location was super convenient. We walked in and were directed to a table. A lady was standing in the aisle way finishing putting on her coat. It was freezing out so I waited patiently because I couldn’t move around her. It had only been a couple seconds when the guy directing us to a table started shouting«Come on! Come on!» at us as if he wanted me to just push the lady out of my way! When we got to the table another man came over, didn’t even look at us and literally slammed our water glasses down and walked away. At that point I was ready to leave, but it was freezing out and my boyfriend was starving. When our waiter came over, he wasn’t overly friendly, but he was attentive and that’s all I really cared about. I will admit that the food was FANTASTIC, best pot pie I’ve ever had! And the portions were huge, which is why I have 3 stars even with the terrible treatment. So in summary, the food is good, but some of the staff are terrible and straight up rude.

This is the best diner in the world. Service is fast and efficient, the servers make you feel at home, and they deliver around the clock. I love the food here. The portions are Mammoth sized, their fries are thick and crispy. The chicken Caesar salad is to die for, and don’t be afraid to order more exotic dishes off of the menu as well. I have been eating at this diner for twelve years at all hours and I don’t plan to stop anytime soon. WSD rocks!!!

Great NYC diner. Nothing too spectacular, but the service is good and they’re open 24⁄7 which is amazing. Not too expensive and they waiters always keep your glasses full. The panninis are, in fact, gigantic. Great price for what you get.

This is a nice quaint neighborhood diner in Greenwich Village. You can just tell by the clientele that they have a lot of local regulars that go there, which is always a good indication for those not familiar with the business. The staff was very welcoming and pleasant. Coffee and water was kept topped-off, and service was not delayed. On weekends they have a special brunch menu(see photo) with quite a selection that comes with a choice of sides, as well as regular items. We ordered an Italian omelet(sausage and mozzarella cheese) and the baby back ribs. While the omelet was good, I expected the sausage to be more of an Italian sausage. Instead, it tasted like more of a breakfast sausage. Still good, but not what I expected. The ribs were also good, with the sauce being more on the sweet and smoky side. All things considered it was a good experience with good diner fare. It’s not gourmet by any stretch, but the bathrooms were clean and I didn’t get sick, so always a plus.

Had to come here for lunch with family after a memorial service for my grandmother. Not good, I’m glad I had a cold and couldn’t taste my food, but the texture of the chicken was definitely off. The chicken was mushy like it was processed chicken. The onion rings were oily and cooked way too long. The waiters kept mixing up all the orders. They were really nice but I would never come here on my own.

I had been to this diner and was really very pleased with our diner. Had ribs as a special. Soup salad and main with 2 sides. On my last visit I went for an early diner. It was me and 2 take out orders. I ordered a dinner special. Took almost 29 minutes for 2 grilled pork chops. The fries were so greasy I couldn’t eat any. Waiter was not to concerned with bad food and just took away the fries and said okay. Pork chops were way too much fat not trimmed enough. Probably not going back again.

My breakfast companion and I were looking for a Diner near Washington Square Park. I didn’t have time to read though all the Unilocal reviews before hand, so I was going in blind. The three star review didn’t give me a lot of hope, but it was pretty solid. I had the coffee and the eggs benedict. The eggs were properly cooked, but the ham was meh. The service was speedy and we were offered refills. There was also a surprise fruit bowl. All in all, I was presently surprised.

Along my travels throughout the city I look for great food and good service. These two combined are extremely hard to come by and this place got both right in my first visit. Making my first experience here excellent. The diner itself is clean, desserts and fresh fruit are on display at the bar area and the seating is sufficient. The diner is self seating, so we sat ourselves at a booth while our server came up rather quickly and gave us two very large menus. Thank goodness we knew what we wanted because the menus alone offered a vast array of options. What I did note was for those of you who enjoy omelets for breakfast, there is a smaller menu that gives the costumer more options to choose from. For myself I opted for an egg white omelet(peppers, onions, bacon, spinach), side whole wheat toast, home fries(did not eat), and fresh fruit(grapes, kiwi, nectarine, honey dew melon). My guest opted for her usual waffle with bacon and a side of juice. The food portions are enormous(seriously the food comes out on a large platter), my egg white omelet came piping hot and each ingredient freshly chopped. With each forkful I got a mouthful of bacon and veggies. I finished off my omelet and had room to finish off my fruit and toast. The meal itself was very light but filling. The home fries were not very appealing to me(also made fresh) so I tossed them. My guest also had no complaints about her waffle, light, fluffy, filling, and remained hot throughout her meal. The bacon that accompanied was made to perfection(not overdone) and they are not stingy with the portions(4 thick slices). So with this great meal I got great service. Not once did I have to repeat my order, look for my server, ask for a refill on my drinks, send my food back, or complain. This is what sticks out to me. This diner believe it or not was a saving grace after having such horrible experiences at other restaurants. They made a fan out of me and whenever I am in the area this will be a go to stop for dining out

Worst diner really, and men’s and women’s single stall restrooms. In NYC these should both be changed to multi gender or all gender rooms. So not appropriate for this city. It’s awkward for other gendered people #letmypeoplepee
