History

Established in 1998.

The original Tutors of Oxford was founded in Hong Kong by Dr. Donnelly in 1993 and soon grew to become the territory’s largest and most respected premium quality tutoring service. Catering mainly for expat students from England and the United States, Tutors of Oxford specialized in providing the finest quality private lessons available.

As our reputation for excellence quickly spread, we expanded our services to cover all of the major standardized tests. At our peak, we employed and trained over forty highly-​qualified specialist tutors each academic year.

After the change in Hong Kong’s sovereignty in 1998, Tutors of Oxford Hong Kong closed its doors, secure in the knowledge of a job well done.

In 1998 Dr. Donnelly moved to the United States and proudly opened the doors of Tutors of Oxford NYC here in Manhattan. Since then, Tutors of Oxford NYC has specialized in providing the finest quality one-​on-​one tutoring and standardized test preparation available here in New York City.

On completion of his honors degree in mathematics and physics, Dr. Donnelly, was awarded a full scholarship from the Science & Research Council to study for his Ph.D. at England’s highly prestigious Oxford University under the guidance of world-​renowned scientist Professor W. K. Morton

After receiving his Ph.D. from Oxford University at the age of 25, Dr. Donnelly followed his love of teaching and embarked upon a full-​time career in education.

He lectured at George Washington University, D.C. and Western Connecticut State University in CT and taught at one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious high schools.

While in Hong Kong, Dr. Donnelly co-​founded and directed Tutors of Oxford, the territory’s premium tutoring service and test prep center.

He is also the founder and director of Tutors of Oxford NYC and Doctor MCAT and is the author of the new «TASC For Dummies» book and the Doctor Test Prep online math video courses.

Dr. Donnelly lives in Manhattan with his wife and 1-​year old son.
