If you are a classical player we can focus on ways of approaching new pieces effectively, techniques to improve your tone and methods for memorizing music. Songwriters and folk player can focus on hearing chord progressions and understanding the changes by ear and understanding modulations, bridges and solo sections. We can also work on rhythm to help you improve your singing and playing skills. Beginners will learn the fundamentals to approach any style of interest with confidence and efficiency. Improvisors will focus on hearing lines or motifs and identifying them by ear and ultimately «feeling» where they would be played on the neck.

Tabs, Chord/​Scale diagrams, Written music, Lead sheets are all methods of conveying music that you will become comfortable with.

I’ve been teaching and gigging for years. I’ve played guitar for nearly twenty years. From rock, metal and grunge in my teens to Classical, Fingerstyle, and Pit band work during and post college, I’ve played many styles.

Teaching is a wonderful chance for me to pass along things others have shown me and insights I’ve developed over years of practicing and performing.

I am available as a performer and teacher. All styles, ages and abilities accepted.
