Absolutely Amazing!
They aren’t kidding when they say it’s addicting! This was the first time my friend, Francheska and I had ever done anything like this before. It was terrifying lol but such an amazing adrenaline rush. Our group size was small (8 – 9 people) so we were able to maximize our time in the air. On top of it being an amazing view of city, well organized, and safe I think the most kudos has to go to the staff. We worked with Kelly, Travis and Jake and all three of them were patient, knowledgeable and gave great advice. They all seemed to really love their jobs.
I would go back in a heartbeat. Already planning my next adventure!

I trapezed and survived! I came here for a friend’s birthday and this definitely was a unique life experience. It was awesome and terrifying at the same time. The people here were super nice and patient, educating us on what to do and NOT to do. I won’t deny that I was a bit terrified. I have a fear of heights but the instructors were so reassuring. There are a lot of safety precautions including a huge net and you are strapped in so they can literally prevent you from falling.
You start off on the ground, shadowing the moves of the instructors. Then you chalk up and climb this steep ladder. This is where the fear of heights starts to kick in. Once I was up there, I had to get down. The question was, do I jump or climb back down that ladder?! This is a chance of a life time so of course I jumped. and screamed. It was thrilling. Our first activity was to hold on to the ladder and hook our feet and unhook our feet from the bar. The next was to hook, unhook and then do a flip. The last was to hook, unhook and then grab on to an instructor and putting your life in his hands! (not really because you are strapped in haha!). All my friends were able to execute all three scenarios but me! Sigh. At least I was able to do a flip! It was so worth it. I would only advise that if you are knee-​buckling scared-​straight of heights, this is not the sport for you. But if you are like me, scared but willing, do it! You won’t regret it.

Awesome experience. We took a 2 hour class and learned a lot. Just be aware they do good quickly and its more of a learn by doing experience! A good workout and overall good experience.

Such an awesome experience! I have been here twice now, and both times were an incredible time. FIrst, you can’t beat the views. Flying through the air is one thing, but doing it with views of the Hudson and WTC is pretty amazing. Second, the staff is top-​notch. They walk the perfect line of fun, funny, and effective. They make sure you are safe and continue to improve, but they do so in a way that it feels like entertainment. Third, the trapezing! What a thrill. And the class is structured in such a way that you progress and are able to do some serious tricks by the end of your short time.
I highly recommend TSNY. It’s great as a hobby, as a gift, for corporate events, or on a lazy Sunday. I can’t wait to go back!

35 and aliiiiiiiiive was the theme for my 35^th birthday.
I get sick on roller-​coasters and am terrified of jumping off of high drops so I wanted to conquer a fear.
Spouse gifted me (us) with a trapeze class. The teachers were amazing: both patient and firm.
EACH jump was terrifying — thank God no kids were in our group because on my first jump every expletive came out of my mouth at least 5x. My confidence increased on each jump, even though I was still petrified. When all was said and done I did a backflip, hung upside down, latched onto a teacher in the air…
I still can’t believe I did it.
I *think* its $ 75 per person (I didn’t pay) which is very reasonable for what you get.
I highly recommend this spot. I’ll *never* forget my 35^th birthday.

TSNY is a wonderful company and provides a service you don’t find everywhere. The staff is great, though beware some sass. Each instructor explains the tricks a bit different so be flexible in your learning; if you don’t understand their cues, ask another instructor to clarify.
My advice/​thoughts, especially for first timers:
* it’s not a roller coaster, your stomach won’t end up in your throat so don’t be scared of your bunny hop off the platform. It’s more like a gliding zip line.
* The guy on the lines will tell you when to do your next action, but note that actions happen at the peaks so be ready to do them, or you’ll mess up the timing.
* Make the most out of watching the demos, see when they make their moves and try to replicated it.
* You WILL get bruises and be sore. But that’s athletics.
And the biggest thing I’d like to stress is that this is a SERVICE. If you enjoyed your time please tip your instructors. 3 of them are doing heavy lifting for 2 hours, plus 2 more staff are behind the scenes. I would recommend 10−20% (it’s divided 5 ways so be generous).

This place is seriously cool! If you want to feel like a circus performer, fly like a bird, and still feel as if you are in safe hands, go here!

Five stars and this review do not do the experience justice. This was an incredible! My friends and I went for a two hour class yesterday as part of my bachelorette party. We saw this as a once in a lifetime experience but we left saying we’d absolutely try a second time. We were all first timers with varying degrees of athletic ability and coordination. I have little to no athleticism or coordination but it didn’t hold me back. Gavi, JaimeLee, and Alec provided instruction, encouragement, and a strong sense of safety so that we were each able to exceed our expectations of the class. Go for it! You’ll have a great time.

They are patient and great teachers. Also very welcoming. Gave me great tips so my jump as always better. The activity is fun and they are just as much fun. And understanding of everyone individuals fears

They’re an amazing team.

We went on Saturday May 30^th. We got there late due to crazy traffic into NYC. We were greeted by the instructors and receptionist. Even though we were late, they helped us expedite our instructions so we can fly.
Our fly instructors, Rob, Keenan and Travis went over each step throughly. They were extremely nice, encouraging made us all want to do it. This was a truly amazing experience due to these guys.
The view here is amazing!!!
I recommend doing the 6pm-​8pm class because the summer sunset.
They have a photographer that sells SLR quality pics and puts on thumb drive for $ 45 which was totally worth it.
I am so happy we came!

This was the most fun, inspiring, energizing two hours I’ve had in a long time. Such a unique, incredible experience (this coming from a jaded New Yorker). I took my first class this morning at the Pier 40 location, and after a bit of confusion getting up to the roof and around the corner, everything was smooth sailing. The instructors (Hal, Travis, Chioma) were very friendly, explained what we were about to do in a way that left me feeling OK about hanging in the air and very supportive throughout.
Sure, climbing up the ladder to the platform is a little scary, but the feeling of sheer joy and empowerment you feel when you jump off and master your first knee hang… I’ve never felt a more natural high in my life. Three hours later, I’m still floating. Thank you!

Had an excellent time going here for a bacherlorette weekend and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to do a fun activity in the city. The views are amazing and the experience is one we will never forget. My only complaint is that our lead instructor, Jeff, was very aggressive and at times rude and disrespectful to us during our lesson. When we made a mistake he chastised us like we were little kids and he was constantly yelling at us and talking down to us. Our other instructors Marina and Mario were quite pleasant and helpful, however Jeff really did put a blemish on our experience because of how rude he was as our teacher. Otherwise though, I’d highly recommend going to TSNY! (just stay clear of Jeff unless you want to be belittled).

Had my bachelorette party there to start this passed weekend. I’m so glad I asked for this! The teachers were amazing, the view is what tourists would expect from New York — Freedom Tower to your left, Lady Liberty to your right. Basically perfect. You’re allowed to take your own photos & videos, but the professional options are hard to turn down! Recommending this to everyone looking for a different NY experience.

TSNY is amazing. They were so kind, supportive, and encouraging. They were quick to respond via email about my 5 year old gift certificate and very accommodating with my little brother today (he’s 10). We had to wait out the wind, but the staff made it a fantastic experience nonetheless. Thank you very much TSNY!

This is a solid 5 star establishment! My boyfriend and I decided this would be our anniversary activity as it sounded both challenging and like such a thrill!
First, I should note that since our anniv is in Feb, we took our trapeze class in the Circus Warehouse. I have heard that view and the experience of flying outdoors on the pier is stunning, so I think we will have to come back in the summer. That being said, getting to take our class in the warehouse while other people practiced juggling, acrobatics, the ropes etc, was definitely an awesome part of the day!
I am still in disbelief that both of us were able to do a backflip AND be caught by one of their staff in our first class. It really speaks to the level of talent and instruction. Everyone we worked with was so friendly and patient and most importantly, clear and concise in their instruction so it made it effortless to get it right. The biggest challenge in this is to get over your own thoughts and just listen to the crew!
Super Fun — Exciting — Challenging — Funny and most of all, ending with a sense of accomplishment… what a way to ring in a new year together! Thanks for everything TSNY, I hope we are able to come again!

A+ for the Hudson River location! Great workout, super exhilarating, after you walk away it’ll be all you can think of for the next few days: D
Arrive knowing that you’ll be challenged, its harder than it looks haha most of our class struggled (including me) but these instructors know their stuff, they were able to pin point exactly what you need to improve on and they give you one-​on-​one attention until you are confident enough to perfect it.
The photographer snaps about 20 pics pp that you can purchase for $ 38 after the class, but you’re allowed to take your own pics and video!
Let me caution anyone with any injuries or soreness that this will probably exacerbate those issues. That might seem super obvious but I optimistically subjected my broken boyfriend to this class and he ended up sitting out :(The instructors were SO sweet and accommodating though so we’re very grateful.

I loved everything about this experience! Our group of 4 attended a 2 hour introductory trapeze class at Pier 40 on the Hudson River this past Saturday May 31^st. Unfortunately right as our class was about to start a rain shower moved through. The staff stayed positive and kept us updated on the radar, we began our class just a few minutes late. The class was full, about 10 people and because of another rain shower that moved through after our first skill, we got 4 turns each rather than 5.
Our instructors, Travis (lines and instructions), Keenan (catcher) and Alex (held us on the platform) were enthusiastic and encouraging, especially with my boyfriend who had a VERY difficult time with the takeoff. They had us doing backflips our second time around, the thought of which was terrifying but surprisingly within our abilities. In fact, our entire class did really well. You’ll be sore the next day, but its a good sore right in the core. The experience is well worth the $ 70.
The view was amazing. They have someone on staff that takes photos during the class and we ended up buying a flash drive of all of our photos. If i lived in NYC this would definitely become a steady hobby. I wish there was a location in Philadelphia. Highly Recommended!

Amazing experience. Evan, Hal, and Mario were wonderful, calming, and encouraging as instructors. I have to say that if they had a location in Corpus I would indeed be addicted. The course progression is well thought out. You learn steps and get to practice on the trapeze, in your first lesson you learn to hang by your knees, do a back flip, and even get caught by an instructor (Evan for my lesson, and kudos for being so encouraging with a sense of humor). Hal had the safety lines and called out step by step instructions and made you feel secure the entire lesson. Mario was on the platform holding you until it was time to jump off into the air. What an adrenaline rushing experience.
I would highly recommend the Pier 40 location. Attended Friday, May 30, 2014.

My girlfriend surprised me with flying trapeze lessons on Pier 16 at South Street Seaport for our anniversary and it was an unforgettable experience. Besides us, there were 8 or so other people we didn’t know in our group. No one in the group had ever done trapeze and the instructors (Aaron, Tanya, and James?) were just great. They were very clear in their instructions and really patient with everyone. Over our two hours there, I went up for 4 swings total and by the end, I felt like I could do anything I tried.
All in all, an amazing experience. I’m kinda glad I didn’t go up for a fifth swing because I think I ended up with an abdominal muscle strain. Even with the muscle strain, this was one of my better life experiences. I am definitely planning to come back for another class some day.
Also, the city views during sunset were a breathtaking backdrop for flying trapeze.

What an awesome experience! The instructors were so encouraging & helped me to focus once I got over the OMG I’m flying through the air moment. I didn’t make the catch, but I’m determined to the next time I come. Oh and Luke is so hot lol.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was that I purchased pictures taken during my jumps (all 16 of mine for $ 35). The pics taken were beautiful, but when I got home with the flashdrive only 6 of the 16 on there were viewable on my computer or phone so that was disappointing. Otherwise, I had a wonderful time & will be dragging some friends along. And be prepared to be incredibly sore everywhere for the days following your trapeze class.
