I have NEVER written a review. I scheduled a start date for a substantial amount of service.
I sent emails with questions. The only response was a cancelation the night before due to vehicle problems.
I called to set up a new time and was told they could possibly start the next day but were unsure. The owner was currently going over my questions. I was told I am first priority. I was also told I would receive a phone call that evening with a start date.
It is 1pm the next day and no phone call has been made.
I am very happy I didn’t have them do the work.
How are they still in business?

I’m quite shocked to be reading all these bad reviews as I had quite a different experience with Today’s Handy Man Service. I had called around to many NYC Handyman companies and they gave me the cheapest quote by far. The man who came over was extremely nice and knew exactly what he was doing. It did take a lot longer than we both expected to build an IKEA wardrobe, but he didn’t complain and we weren’t charged more for it. I was very happy with the service and thought everything was professionally done. I would use them again and recommend them to others. They aren’t a furniture assembly service so that is why building IKEA furniture may take longer — as for all the other tasks like mounting TVs, etc — it was quick!

I am giving them 2 stars on sending a very good and polite handyman. They CLAIM they are able to do everything both large and small so I asked the handyrman to take measurements of a kitchen with the goal of having them do a installation of cabinets and a countertop. He spent an hour doing a very professional and thorough job, THEN I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM. I called several times, if not for anything but to at least get the measurements. Not only do they have the measurements I paid for, these creeps never bothered to return my phone call. Proceed with caution Unilocalers.

They were awful. Expensive, rude and poor quality of work. They took way too long to complete any task and left a mess behind.

I wish I’d read these reviews before I contracted this company. Had they been less expensive, I probably would not have bothered to review them. But for the expense the work was sloppy. I hired them to install a chair rail and paint two rooms and a foyer.
I now have to go behind them and touch up all the areas they missed and they didn’t even clean up after themselves instead leaving me in the apartment with a large plastic bundle that I had to break down and dispose of piece by piece in the compactor.
They claim to offer high quality and a good price. While they weren’t the worst I’ve ever encountered they fell far short on both counts. I would not use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone else.

I bought this service at a discount on (I think) groupon. The guy who came over to hang up my curtains did a fine job, though it did take the whole 2 hours for 3 rooms of curtains. But what do I know about hanging curtains, maybe that’s how long it takes.

This is completely in sane service. I have a most stupid handyman coming over. He spend 2 hours to put up a single cabinet from IKEA. IKEA cabinet is the most easy to setup and install. TIME IS CLICKING! HE TAKE SO LONG AND SLOW… TO MOVE!
