Same complaint as Virna in SF. We bought the BAM crib set, intending to buy the toddler bed conversion kit when our child was ready for it, around age 2. When the time came, they had discontinued the kit and their ineffectual offer was for me to buy an entirely new crib with a toddler kit at a tiny discount. Great, $ 700×2. We registered the product when we purchased (and had to complain about a problem with the «mattress» which turned out to be a 1″ piece of foam, and chipping paint), so they had our address and email twice. Why was it so hard for them to notify customers they were discontinuing so they could get the kit they needed? The end of the story: I found it listed at online retailers as discontinued. I called Buy Buy Baby to ask if they had any ideas what I could do, even though they also listed it as discontinued. They put a manager on the phone who said «Let me see what I can do.» He called stores all over the country and found a kit in a stockroom somewhere and had it to me within a week. Now that’s customer service.

Isn’t this company closed? Hope so! I tried to order two cribs for my twins last year through
(fabulous customer service btw!!), and it was a nightmare. I was already worried about possibly having preemies, and here this company just took the orders from 2Modern, and sent no product for months and months after the promise date. These are cribs! At a certain point the kids need a bed. 2Modern was awesome about cancelling our order, and a while later they discontinued carrying any of the Bam Bam cribs.
Argington’s website and facebook page are gone, and if the company is ever reborn under a new hipster/modern/“Brooklyn-designed” façade, i just pity the poor customers who are taken by them.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. Your child will be in college before you receive a piece of furniture. If Arginton cannot keep up with the demands b/​c you’re a small company, then do not take or allow your distributors to take orders. I’ve been waiting 11 months for my son’s Eiffel bookcase and now they said year end. I canceled my order. It’s a real shame b/​c I really like the furniture. Have a bunkbed & dresser (purchased 3 yrs ago when the company must been unknown) and like it. Too bad we can’t get another piece.

Argington finally responded (the owner wrote an email to me) and he apologized for the delays. He said it was a family owned business and they didn’t have the staff to deal with everything in a timely manner at the time. They sent us a new crib (two actually; we have no idea why, but we refused the second one because we obviously didn’t need another one). So we finally got a functional crib, but it took a full three months and a great deal of stress and frustration.
A workaround that might allow you to buy these products without worrying: buy them from a bigbox store like Babies R Us. They sell Argington products, and I’m assuming if you have a problem, returning them or getting them replaced will be easier. We made the mistake of buying the crib from a small online retailer located in New York (NEVER DO THIS — DUH). When we tried to return the crib to this retailer, they stopped answering our emails and because they were so far away, we had very little recourse.
I will say that after all that, the crib is beautiful and well made (well the second one that isn’t defective is well made). It’s unfortunate that the company struggles with administrative issues (answering emails, addressing problems, dealing with orders in a timely fashion) because if it didn’t, I would recommend their products for sure. So caveat emptor and buy from somewhere where you can return the item easily if you really want to risk it.

I bought a BAM crib set two years ago with the expectation of buying the conversion kit into a toddler bed when my daughter was old enough. Unfortunately they changed the the BAM kit just slightly and they don’t carry anymore the conversion kit for that version of the BAM set. I wrote to them and they just offered to sell me a new bed with a «little» discount.
I had registered my product in their website but they had never notified me that they were taking out of the market the set I have.
Of course I will never again buy anything from this company that offers customers a set and in less than 2 years they discontinue that line of products including replacements and parts.
They even offered me as another option «Our latest BamBam crib complete… this set is sold with a bassinet, crib and toddler conversions as a one time purchase!» Can you believe this? do they really think I am that stupid as to buy again the same set?

i registered for a bunch of this companies items for my baby shower, everyone commented on how the customer service was a nightmare, some stuff i never even received because the company did not communicate with amazon on when it would be shipped and as per amazon policy the order was automatically cancelled. But that’s not even the half of it!
i ordered the conversion kit for the Sahara crib directly from the company. i am a total idiot, because after everything, why did i think it would come? i emailed diligently and patiently at first. i ordered my product in august 2012, then asked about it in September then asked again at the end of October, to which they responded that it would be coming in January 2013, January came and went, i emailed again in Febuary, with no response… finally in march my card was charged and they said my item had been shipped. a month passes and nothing had been delivered. So again i asked them what was up, if they could provide me with a tracking #, they responded that my order was still open and it would ship, not the next day, but the next week! I was kind of flabbergasted, after some comments of disbelief and frustration i asked to be refunded, and cancel my order. they said it would take 5 – 7 business days. Today is the 7^th business day and because of their forgetful and VERY «relaxed» nature of things i sent them an e-​mail stating that if i did not receive my refund i would be filing a dispute with my credit card company and contacting the bbb. Essentially they wrote me back saying well go ahead. still no refund, So here i am. Horrible, horrible, experience. i should also state that their «shipping» fee is criminal its like a hundred dollars on top of what is not a cheap item, they’ve charged me and it hasn’t even «shipped». Scam, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Is there an option to review this company as zero (0) stars? That’s what they deserve.

Customer service is not only terrible, it is outsourced and speaking to anyone on the phone or in person will not happen. In addition, the product is poorly crafted and defective. We have a crack in our Sahara crib, which we have owned for 7 months when we noticed this and is under warranty. When approaching Argington about this via email (the only way to contact them) they are unwilling to find a resolution and we continue to run into road blocks. Forget the customer service aspect, this company has complete disregard for our child’s safety.
Again, do not work with this company — you will be severely disappointed.

This company has no customer service. I ordered a bed for my son 2 months ago and though I received an email saying it had shipped, we never received the bedframe. I have tried contacting them multiple times via email and over the phone and they never respond. I have had to contact Better Business Bureau and now am fighting to get my money back since the order was made with a debit card.
Do not order from them — they are a shady company.
Horrible ordeal.
