History
Established in 2013.
Board game lovers and collectible card game fans joined with coffee aficionados to bring the first play café to Manhattan.
The Uncommons concept combines a traditional coffee shop with a library of games to play in-store, and adds a retail section where you can shop for gifts, or find the perfect game to play at home.
With free wi-fi, plenty of tables, and an events calendar with something fun just about every night, this NYU hotspot brings modern board games to an old space: updating the famous Greenwich Village Chess Shop which had been in the spot for 40 years.
