The Shoe Box

Lousy customer service, inattentive staff and poor exchange/​return policies make me want to skip this store the next time I am shopping for a pair of shoes.

I haven’t shopped at their store but I’ve shopped at their online store and it’s true on the negative reviews. DON’T DO business with them!!!
I ordered a pair of boots on Jan 29 via PayPal on which I got a receipt. (Thankfully only from PayPal.) Few days later had past and no emails regarding my order or the status from the shoe company. I checked my spam box and logged in to check status and it stated ‘not yet shipped’. Well I started shopping on their site again and purchased another pair of boots online. I received a shipping email from them on this pair and now it’s been 5 days past since the first pair had been ordered. Still no sign. So I contact the company via email and phone. No reply. I opened a dispute 7 days later and no reply. I called them today and a rude employee had stated for me to check my spam and I said I did but no apologies of the non existence communication. She said ‘Oh we just shipped it out yesterday.’ Wow where’s the customer service?!? Thanks for keeping me in the loop. I think what had happened is that my order came in and they forgot to ship it out until I emailed them. Well last time I’m doing business with them ever!!!

One of my favorite shoe stores! Located on Third Ave in Murray Hill, this store carries a variety of fancy, classy, and practical shoes. They have a wide variety of Vince Camuto shoes and other brands including Stuart Weitzman and Jimmy Choo. Some of the salespeople are great; very friendly and helpful. The store is a good size; not overwhelming at all. They also have a small selection of handbags.

Don’t even bother. You can find all the brands they carry at Department stores and probobly get them on sale too. I stopped in for my first time yesterday to exchange a pair of shoes I recieved as a gift. I have never in my life encountered more obnixious, less helpful sales people. The woman refused to give me a credit and accused me of bringing the shoes back after 30 days when the receipt clearly stated I was within the correct timeframe. I don’t understand how a store like this, that charges top dollar and has hideous staff stays in business.

Lured in bountiful tabletop displays of suedes, neutrals, platforms a la photoshoots, I got caught up at the Shoe Box (hook, line, and sinker… heh). Walked out with two pairs of boots (both for at least 80% off retail, I must concede), but once I got home I realized I had overdosed on retail therapy. The sales team will compliment and sweet talk you to hop the fence you were on, and before you know it you are lugging two giant boxes with you for the rest of the day, wondering what you were thinking.

Overpriced…

I bought two Vince Camuto Elanie pumps here (Black and Nude) and the sales person initially told me that shoes were for $ 110 and said that she would give me 20% off if I buy both of them. I agreed and paid for them ($ 89 each). But when I was browsing the store as she went in the back to adjust my new shoes I noticed that the same Nude pump was marked as $ 89. I brought this to her attention and she insisted that the Black one is for $ 110 and the nude color is for $ 89. I therefore asked for the 20% discount off of list price that I was promised, then she became hostile and eventually changed her story to: «If you buy both shoes, one will be discounted».
On my return home I looked up the same shoes on their website because I found it weird that the same shoes would be priced differently. Indeed I found the Black Elanie Pump toe shoe listed for for $ 89.
Even though ultimately I paid $ 89 for both shoes, I think it is unethical for the salesperson to make me believe I was getting a discount when I really wasn’t. To make things worse, she stamped my receipt as a FINAL SALE because I had received the «discount».
When I called the store manager to complain about the rude customer service, they refused to allow me to speak with the manager, became belligerent, and then hung up on me.
I am shocked at the lack of customer service and would recommend you all to NEVER deal with this store. You can get better deals at nicer stores who treat their customers with due respect.

I always admire the fantastic selection of shoes when i walk by this store on my daily walk. the store had a sale so i had an excuse to go in. i was upfront with the sales associate and told her «i want to get a pair of booties on sale.» she said «ok but i’ll treat you right and show you all the good stuff we have on sale.» i thought she was letting me have the chance to try on couture so i was super stoked but then after i said i liked the alexander mcqueens (who wouldn’t) she kind of laughed at the elizabeth and james’ that i chose saying, «these are such bad quality compared to the mcqueens surely you want these?» i was having to constantly assert myself which is the exact opposite of a pleasurable shopping experience. culmination: she brought all 5 boxes totally 5,000 $ up to the registrar and then i embarrassed myself by saying «yeah i only want the 1 pair,» and some guy said, «out of the 5 boxes you only want these? okaay we don’t judge.» never going back here again. and if you do beware the heavyset girl with long blonde hair super proud of her hello kitty back tattoo.

so i just wandered in here and was blown away by the selection and then realized i have no money and hung my head in defeat.
i hope there’s an amazing sale while im here in new york! i want to buy everything!
