Waitress was on her phone the entire time, waiter ignored me. Top 5 worst service of my life and I was the only one at he bar. When you’re paying 40 for two drinks maybe try a tad harder? Came on a Monday at 4, I’d replace the two at the bar at this time

A friend and I had planned to meet for a drink at the Campbell Apartment, but unfortunately due to a private party being held there, ended up at the Campbell Terrace instead! The Campbell Terrace is located just outside Grand Central(along Vanderbilt Ave). It’s associated with the Campbell Apartment and shares the same drink menu(and high prices!). The terrace is outside but under a large overhang so you’re protected from any inclement weather. Seating includes couches, high tops, low tops, rocking chairs, and more. There’s a large bar and you can also order the same food items that are available at the Campbell Apartment. The drinks are well done(prohibition punch is a must try but at $ 20 make it just one!) and what they are famous for. What was disappointing here, especially compared to my experience at the Campbell apartment was how slow and poor the service was. The waitress we had did not regularly check on us and when we did order additional drinks, she forgot our order! We had to ask again after 25 minutes and it was a little bit surprising that she did not offer an apology or complimentary drink. I don’t think we are particularly difficult folks however with the prices here, you might expect a bit more in terms of service. All in all, it’s a cool crowd that has a mix of tourists, business men and women, and commuters. Great place to people watch and take in the hustle and bustle that surrounds the terminal, especially in nicer weather and once the construction on Vanderbilt Ave subsides. Worth it to check out once!

Location is very convenient for those who use GCT a lot like me. Drinks are ok, but STEEP.

Great outdoor extension of the Campbell Apartment under the terrace on Vanderbilt. While not the same ambiance of the actual apartment it is a great place to enjoy during the season and do some people watching while having an expertly prepared cocktail(or two).

There’s something about enjoying a nice cocktail that’s finely crafted and seated outdoor in midtown east after a long day of work. Really can’t beat the feeling. 4 Stars. Do it.

We originally intended to go to the Campbell Apartment but they had it closed for a private event so we settled on having drinks here. This is supposed to be an extension of the upstairs bar but the cocktail menu is different. They still have the Prohibition Punch but without the fancy old world style atmosphere it just feels like an overpriced outdoor bar. So while the Campbell apartment itself is worth your time I wouldn’t recommend you settle with the terrace.

My new favorite spot to have a cocktail in New York. Great ambience and view; superb staff; right on Grand Central. Ideal. My recommendation is the Polo Match. 5 stars by me!

Chill spot at grand central where you can have some drinks outside. There’s some couches and one bar in this small area. It’s great to hang out on a warm day/night! My friends and I got a round of lemon drops: P They were quite strong!

2.5 stars I guess I can consider myself occasionally a fan of contradiction. You know, to add some spice to life. However, this was a little bit too much spice The upstairs counterpart is certainly a beautiful place. I was not impress by the drinks years back, but my friend who was leaving NY a few days later wanted to try it. A private party brought us downstairs to their terrace located at the ground level. While waiting for her, I had a pink drink way too sweet but equally delicious in some sense. I also received a wonderful service after requesting specifically a table by the sofas/couch area. My friend arrived, we hugged, we chatted, we laughed and chatted again. And after waiting for over 40 min to be served 2 glasses of Prosecco completely abandoned(while neighbors tables were being attended) we decided to leave. And yes, during that time, we understood they were busy and therefore call our waitress’s attention and the hostess’s attention a couple of times to request about our wine. They were certainly quite busy. but they are supposed to be able to handle that. Right? In my opinion, not worth the drinks anyways. Neither being seated in what feels to me like a train station platform. I guess I am contradicting myself now. 2 stars

Been here several times and for the prices, it’s just okay. Granted I think this would be a tough location to make really great because there are simply too many factors beyond their control such as street traffic, noise and weather. BUT, that doesn’t mean they couldn’t do some things better. Let’s start with seating. If you’re not seated on one of the sofa/couch lounge areas, it’s tough to get comfortable. Either the wrought iron chairs and tables are too rickety or the bar stools and tables aren’t stable so you’re constantly fidgeting and risk drinks spilling. When it’s hot, it’s not any cooler here… and it’s expensive for little glasses of wine. On the plus side, service has always been pretty decent and attentive. Food is adequate to good(not great, though) and, of course, the people watching can make up for some of the complaints. I do like it better than the Apartment! But we’ll save that for another time…

One of the coolest places in NYC to have a martini or any drink at all– located right at Grand Central its great at any point in your day for a date, business drink or hangout. Awesome charm, décor and history. A hidden gem.

hidden gem for all the not-fans of the beer garden, working near Grand Central, looking for a place to have a drink(or two) outdoors. I highly recommend their classic and raspberry mojitos! sitting is a little off, since all open tables are always«reserved» and the hostess is not always on top of everything.

Friends took me here on my recent visit to NY. Loved being in the open air lounge, seeing all the hustle and bustle of the city. Service was wonderful; seating was comfortable. This was a perfect location for cocktails before dinner.

A great(protected from the elements) venue to have a drink while watching the business people sprint through the rain. The female waitstaff were all wearing little black dresses and pearls. Their boobs were totally on display. I liked the ‘Prohibition Punch’, and while at $ 17 it was a bit pricey, I wasn’t paying and it gave me a great buzz. So much that I complimented the hostess on her beautiful boobs.

since the campbell terrace is located under the park avenue overpass around grand central, i kind of felt like i was drinking in a garage, albeit one with nice chairs,(including some rocking ones), and couches as well as excellent cocktails. good points: drinks are definitely more speak-easy style and delicious and it is certainly one of the classiest garage-esq but not garage outdoor lounge area that i’ve ever seen. also due to the higher prices and location, it will probably never be too crowded that you’re bumping elbows, bags, and drinks with the person next to you. to sum it up, it’s a nice and convenient place for drinks in the gc area and i can see it being a great place to have a drink while people watching or during a summer storm. but if its truly nice out, i would highly suggest a rooftop bar or one that is not under an overpass.

Just outside of the Campbell Apartments at GCT, this open air loungy terrace is the perfect place for a summer drink. The space is small and open only during the work week, from 2 — 10 p.m. daily(Mon. — Fri.) so make this the place for commute-friendly stop before heading home! The cocktails are original and refreshing. Several are based on fresh fruit flavors such as Watermelon Mojito and lots of things are made with a personal favorite St. Germaine! Price point is midtown average at ~$ 8 for a beer and ~$ 12 for a cocktail or glass of wine.
