A strong contributing factor to our growth has been our unique products, which have also distinguished us from our competition. We are the «Home of NY’s Original Rainbow Bagel and Flagel.» Our products include bagels, spreads, whitefish, salmon, salads, pastries, soups, pizza, pasta dishes, eggs, pancakes, fresh fish and much more. The vast majority of our food is homemade within the store and all with «premium ingredients.»

At the Bagel Basket, we are recognized in the community as a premium provider of food products, where people can come and enjoy a quality meal or snack in a clean environment, with friendly service by people who care. We offer kosher catering for synagogues, non-​profit, corporate events, parties and more.

History

Established in 2003.

The bagel basket that was started in 2003 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Established as a new kosher bagel business, the operation consists of sales to the retail, wholesale and catering markets within the Jewish and non-​Jewish communities.

We are Shomer Shabbos, Pas Yisroel and Yoshon, and carry a full line of Cholov Yisroel cheeses. Our strictly kosher catering is perfect for synagogues, corporate events, bar mitzvahs and more. Come to the Bagel Basket and try some of our famous bagels — you’re going to love what we’re doing here.

Elliot is the owner and operator of The Bagel Basket. He created the business to be a comprehensive retail, catering, takeout and delivery bagel destination for customers from all over NYC. Offering an amazing lineup of quality food, The Bagel Basket draws customers from all walks of life from local teachers to construction workers, tourists, and more.

We place a premium not only on kosher foods, but the high quality of our ingredients and products. Flavor is important to us, as is great customer service. The place is nice with good service, but not cheap. It has a few interesting types of Bagels such as the Rainbow Bagel! The place of serves salads and Pastas.

I have order from here a few times and the food is average. I have always asked for a menu by never got one sent because I was curious why the price of my food did not match the online prices. When I ordered food today and asked for the total it was higher and I asked why. I was told they automatically include a 15% tip for the delivery person. This is illegal. I am a chef for 30 years and a gratuity is optional. I wondered why every time I ordered and tipped cash the delivery boy was very thankful, but still took it knowing the tip was included.
Too do this is illegal and wrong and not even allowed in restaurants. It’s a customers right to tip or not, not the restaurants decision. Plus most people in the hospitality business tip 20% or more. Shame on you bagel basket. I will never be ordering again and quite frankly I have the right for all the tips you automatically charged to my card returned.

I’m sure there are better bagel places for better prices, but this was on the way. There’s also a high counter which makes for awkward ordering when the lady is as short as you are on the other side.

Finagle my bagel I just got a flagel.
Walked into this store because I am always scoping out places to get some good cheap kosher food and I love a good schmear. I would have to say that what caught my eye is this giant disc looking monstrosity they call a flagel which is a flat bagel. I wanted to try one and I was also scoping out their different spreads like the tofu, whitefish and cream cheese and lox cream cheese which is bright pink?! I think they use food coloring because I also saw a multi-​colored rainbow bright looking bagel. They do have a good variety of bagels. When I finally got to the register to order I got somewhat of a chilly reception I ordered the flagel and she said which one and I said it looks like there is only one kind but I was told there is rye, whole wheat, sesame, everything and salt. And I was like okay I will try the rye. I lingered because I wanted to ask about the prices of the spreads because I was looking to possibly come here for catering for kosher events but I was mostly just told to look at the board and was treated like Captain Obvious. There were prices listed but it didn’t indicate how much by quantity. They do have pizza and a tiny salad bar but I think I will come back if I just happen to walk by so I can stop for a flagel. Seems like such a novelty item to me but it tasted pretty good and of course the size of the flagel is impressive. Mine had lots of rye seeds. Wish they also make bialys. But I guess I can only count on the Lower East Side for some good kosher stuff.
If you are looking for some kosher breakfast items this is an okay spot just hope they would be a bit nicer.

I live two blocks away from Bagel Basket and come every 2 months or so (usually because I forget how bad my last visit was). The service is EXTREMELY slow… I’m talking 15 minutes for a bagel and cream cheese when no one else is inside. On top of that the food isn’t that good. Mediocre bagels at best.
Today I ordered a L.E.O (lox, eggs, onions) on a bagel. I open the bagel and inside is just an omelette with a giant stack of lox which is all on one of the side bagel. The lox was not even cooked with the eggs, it was just put inside the cooked omelette and folded over. On top of my feeling of nausea I am now kicking myself for wasting $ 8 on a bagel on par with something from the grocery store.
Never ever come here… You will thank me later

Just OK… For the price I expected the salads (Tuna and whitefish) to be fresher…
The bagels were great and for this I give it 3 stars!
Service great as well but like all other Glatt Kosher places they are not in the service industry. They have the market cornered and know it… A good bagel and if you are in the area and Glatt K then you have no choice.
My family is so I had to order for a brunch.
I will say my guests that are Glatt LOVED IT! They had rave reviews about the bagels.

This is a neighborhood filled with kosher delis, restaurants and bagels. This place should be ashamed that a) their bagels suck so royally and b) their prices are massively high.
I am on a quest to find the perfect bagel. I already know that if this were the last place on earth to get a bagel I wouldn’t go. First, the onion bagel (my usual gold standard for a good bagel) was so flavorless, it wasn’t even funny. I got «special» cream cheese (scallion) and a) it was so little, it was barely even detectable… and it’s $ 3.50. Feh, I can get a better onion bagel and NOT stingy cream cheese at Bagel Talk for a dollar less. I mean seriously, adding scallions to cream cheese is a whole dollar more??? Never again will I set foot in this place, even if they were free.

Meh, it’s not that good. Yes, the bagels are fine, but really, aren’t most pretty decent in the area? It IS a bagel place, I would hope they do that well, and the spreads are average, too. The scary anthropomorphized pizzas, salads, and muffins in the window, saying ‘We do more than just bagels’ terrify me.
They have a rainbow bagel which is one of their signature things. Come on, what is so great about that? It’s not like it’s hard to get kids to eat bagels, so not sure what the appeal is? Since they advertise the other food, I thought we might find some other items to purchase later as a snack. Nope, since the salad bar didn’t look very good, and the other bagel toppings looked sort of old and sad.
Also, the loxs were expensive for what the quality was. I say if you can go to Barney Greengrass down the way, go there, especially if it’s on the early side. The coffee was alright, and the place is clean. I guess if I lived in the area I would go occasionally, but it’s not 5 stars to me. I’m also not trying to keep Kosher, which might add to the value for me if I were.

Pretty good local bagel shop. The regular bagels are decent, but the flat bagels rock. Coffee is not great but I didn’t expect it to be. There’s never a line here which is nice, and I’m usually in and out in under 5 mins. Recommended.

Solid bagel place. The staff is friendly and handles orders quickly and accurately, despite how crowded it can be. They have a large variety of bagels and cream cheese. I am constantly amused by the rainbow bagel– just a plain bagel but brightly colored! I’ll definitely stop in if I’m hungry next time I’m in the area and try the coffee this time.

Delicious bagels, and pizza is pretty good too! Mini muffins look delish but have yet to try. Love their cream cheese (and tofu cream cheese) options! Absolute Bagels on Bway and 108th is the best, but Bagel Basket makes a pretty good bagel too, and is a lot closer to me.

My BF and I were cold and hungry after a long walk through Central Park during today’s storm. We come out of the park at 90th street, looking for somewhere to get hot chocolate. The BF points out some crummy-​looking bagel place, and I say, «Will they have hot chocolate??» With no other candidates in sight, there’s only one way to find out.
With trepidation, I order a hot chocolate. I am immensely pleased to see that this is not just a bagel place; there is an espresso machine, and the guy behind the counter is frothing up some milk for us! Yay! And a medium cup is only $ 1.50. Yes, they just used some kind of hot chocolate mix or whatever, but it’s made with real milk, and it’s good and it’s hot.
We also got a croissant, which was a pricey $ 2.50, but it was very delish, and thus worth it. Cozy little tables with a view of the street. Keep your view pointed out of the restaurant; there’s not much atmosphere inside.

This is where my wife and I go every Sunday morning that we spend on the Upper West Side. I love bagels, cream cheese and lox — so this is the place to go.
It’s a little more expensive than it probably could be, but there’s no real competition in the area for Kosher bagels with spreads. I love their flagels (flat bagels), and can’t pass ‘em up.
I can’t speak for the coffee because we always take it to-​go to Starbucks, but the bagels are book if expensive.

I had a cheese omelet and a plain bagel with cream cheese. Both were made well and tasted good. The bagel was chewy and a good size. The omelet was not overcooked /​undercooked. It could have been a little bigger, though. All told, it was decent for what it was. I really wish that Kosher places could add meat to things just for me, though. I wasn’t even thinking about it until I started to order the omelet. By that point, I had already sort of commited, which stinks since all of the best stuff to get in an omelet comes from some sort of animal.

My jaw actually dropped when I realized their deli coffee was more expensive than Starbucks’. Although they boast of being Kosher, they don’t serve any meat, so… why are their bagel w/​lox significantly more expensive than everyone else’s? On that note, why is everything they offer significantly more expensive than their neighborhood competitors? I’d rather walk the extra block to get equally good food at half the price.
