Such a super cute place for me and the fam. Your kids will love it. Food was decent but desserts were amaze balls. Great weekend brunch spot but service sucked! We waited a longggg time. that’s why they got 3 instead of 4 stars.

This place is cute! If I had kids and a trust fund, I’d bring them here. It’s not cheap, but it is adorable. I wanted to come here for dessert, but my honey and I rarely go out just for dessert. So we settled on breakfast. We got there when they first opened so we didn’t have any wait. If you like sweets, it’s a great spot. I tried the lemon pancakes. They were crispy yet fluffy. They had a delicious lemon flavor. I really enjoyed them. The boyfriend had the Mexican skillet option. The tortilla was very hard so it made the dish a bit challenging to eat. He said it was okay. I’d come back for dessert. The brownie sundae sound amazing. They have one dessert 6 – 8 people can split. We did get some chocolate pretzels to go. They were creamy and fresh. The macaroons present well. If you have kids-treat them then take them for a walk in the park-nothing is low calorie!

Great food and dessert menu. Sweet place to visit although surprised to learn that they close extremely early on weeknights. The food is delish and I think if they were open more hours they would attract a more significant evening crowd.

My cousin and I went for breakfast and had the bacon/cheese/waffle. It was delicious! To end our breakfast on an even better note, we had the brownie sundae. We enjoyed EVERY. SINGLE. CALORIE. I’d definitely go back!

«The waffles are already made.» I think this was the sentence, spoken by one of the servers after bringing my wife’s incorrect order out, that put us over the edge. We didn’t leave right after that but after learning that on top of everything we were basically eating frozen eggos there was no chance of redemption. We came in here because we were headed to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Beacon and my wife has been craving waffles. I Unilocaled«Belgian waffles» saw this place close to the theater, looked through a few reviews and pictures and decided to give it a whirl. When we entered it was basically empty and yet the host seated us directly next to another table occupied by a large family and their yelling children. Alright then. We were then treated to some delicious glasses of room temperature water with no ice. Very European, but since this is America maybe that would be the first step to improving this hell hole. It’s summer time, give people ice. At this time — and this is very important later in the story — my wife DM’d me a funny Instagram meme. Eventually the host comes over(he is also apparently our server) to take our drink order and we ask for coffee, because when you eat breakfast for dinner why not have a nice cup of coffee too. He brings the coffee back a short time later and we order, me classic eggs Benedict with short rib hash on the side, her bacon egg and cheese waffle with a special request for scrambled eggs and the waffle on the side. The coffee is awful. Barely hot, clearly stale, and bitter as hell. I put about 8 sugars in it trying to make it not taste like garbage but that doesn’t work. The server/host has moved behind the dessert counter so I can’t get his attention to send the coffee back, and a crappy cup of coffee isn’t really worth a lot of trouble anyways. And then we wait. And we talk. And also we ignore each other and scroll on our phones. Eventually I ask if it’s just me or the food is taking a really long time. My wife agrees but we have no idea what time we walked in. Then we recall the Instagram meme and she checks the time on that– we have been sitting here for half an hour. Sipping room temp water and garbage coffee. Breakfast really shouldn’t take that long, especially when there are literally only three other tables in the entire enormous restaurant. My wife walked over to the dessert counter and asked the server/host if he could check on our food since it had been a while. Instead he goes to his order screen to check the time he put the order in and because that’s how the universe works another server almost immediately brings out the food. I feels it’s also important to note that during the time we were waiting I noticed at least 8 different people walking around in chef coats. I don’t know what they were cooking but it clearly wasn’t our food. My wife’s eggs look like McDonald’s eggs in a cup which is gross but she actually kinda likes McDonald’s and doesn’t seem to mind that. What she does mind is that there is clearly no cheese on them. She asks wasn’t this supposed to have cheese? The server informs her that the cheese is on the waffle– which I guess it’s cooked inside of it or something because I didn’t see any cheese on it. The server offers to fix it and my wife at first declines and says we have been waiting a long time already and we have a show to get to but this is when the server informs us that the waffles are pre made and it will only take a minute. «I’m eating eggos?» My wife asked me as the server brought the food back to the kitchen. She noticed me looking longingly down at the beautifully plated eggs Benedict before me and gave me the go ahead to eat. I offered her my short rib hash(she took one bite and said it was good) and cut into my first egg. Now, I love eggs Benedict, not quite a connoisseur but this wasn’t my first rodeo. And this place literally advertises as you walk in and on the menu that this is one of their specialties. Instead of a delicious soft poached egg and a nice gooey yolk I discovered a rubbery mess and a ball of fully cooked yellow slime. Eggs Benedict is not a basically hard boiled egg. All the artfully placed sprouts in the world won’t make up for shitty cooking. This was when we decided to leave. We got up, told the server we were leaving to which he replied«it was only 22 minutes». I don’t know exactly what that information was supposed to do for me but 22 minutes is still a really long time for eggos and overcooked eggs and garbage coffee and room temp water. On our way out someone who may have been a manager said is there something wrong with your experience? My reply, and also TLDR: everything is wrong and this place is awful.

The food here was delicious, though a bit overpriced. Got the eggplant panini & my boyfriend got the burger, with waters to drink, and our total was ~$ 40.

My favorite brunch place. Cute decoration, the noise level is perfect for a long conversation, the service is excellent. Regular brunch plates and amazing crepes with fruits, nutella, ice cream, etc. Their hot chocolate is a must.

We’ve come here several times now, and it is one of my favorite places! It is a great place to go after hanging out all day in Central Park. I like to go after five so the full menu is available for order, and not just the brunch menu. The chicken and waffles, bacon egg and cheese waffles, and shrimp and chips are all delicious. They also have a wide variety of cocktails. This place is very kid friendly, and there’s only a wait if you come during peak brunch hours.

Beautiful waffle creations, just look at the pics. I ordered the Swiss waffle, which came with ham, spinach, egg and gruyère fondue. Tasty and elegant presentation. They have an assortment of interesting cocktails, but I did not try any on this visit. Coffee was satisfactory. Had a taste of the short rib hash(it’s a side) and it was delicious, highly recommend it. Good service. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Minus one star for the noise from the under 5 year-old patrons. Be forewarned, on any given day, the majority of the people dining and screaming are little ones. Lots of strollers and kids, which is understandable given the place looks like something out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory… chocolate bunnies, macaroons and very fun and colorful on the interior. They also have yummy desserts and edible gifts for purchase in their store. Great spot for brunch if you have kids or are a kid at heart.

Came for brunch with friends. Very cute place with candy shop attached. Extremely kid friendly and the food was really good. I had a waffle with pulled pork. It was delicious. The BBQ sauce they use is great. Kids love the yogurt parfait. The bacon Manhattan a great touch. I would go back again.

Ive been here twice! And i loved it both times. First time the food was great and the waiter was ok. The 2nd time the food was great and the waiter was also great, she was a spanish lady super friendly and attentive. Very kids friendly, great place to bring your little one. I had the waffle bacon egg and cheese the first time and it was great! Second time i had the chicken and waffles which was also a great choice. Our table also shared the french toast which is not your ordinary french toast, it was great.

This place is pretty cute however it’s is insanely overpriced. Great for kids if you want to entertain the little ones this is the place to go. I was seriously tempted to order from the kids menu lol but decided to not and get an adult meal. I opted for the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The dish while described as small was very filling. The grilled cheese was delicious, the soup was also very tastes and complimented the grilled cheese perfectly. Service was alright, I was a part of a big party, however our plates of food hadn’t been removed even after ordering dessert, just a bit inconvenient. Again a great place to entertain and have fun with kids and preteens alike.

It’s a small but comfortable restaurant with whimsical style. Being that the focus is on sweet treats, I was suprised that the food tasted better than expected. The salmon was juicy and flavorful. The French toast was sweet and delicious. The alcholic drinks were mild and tasty. It’s a great place for families and girlfriends. I suggest going during the day, on week day that is not a school holiday. It may be crowded with families on vacation days. The other half of the restaurant caters to the purchase of the treats made there. This includes; macroons, cookies and chocolates. The chocolates range from average expected treats to whimsical recreations of the Eiffel Tower and champagne bottles in in buckets! This is definitely a themes restaurant to visit.

Not amazing, not horrible, which places it at an appropriate 3 stars. I’ve been here once and eaten desserts from here twice. The best thing, imo, they have going for them are the macarons. Everything else is pretty typical for the trade and doesn’t really invoke the taste and texture excitement one would expect from the over the interior decorations and design. As I mentioned, my most recent experience involved their macarons, which were pretty good. Nothing special like La Maison Du Macaron on 23rd street. But still, they were quite tasty and accurately represented the flavor profile they were named after. I honestly have forgotten the flavors but not that they tasted good enough I wouldn’t turn them down if offered to me. On a personal note, there tends to be too many families, with little children running around, to be a place that I would recommend for brunch… or anything that really requires you to stick around for more than 10 minutes.

Tried their stop on Bleeker, so decided to make the trek for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. After reading reviews, knew there would be a lot of kids there, but didn’t affect my meal any. Drinks: we got the Hot Chocolate Shake($ 9) and the Black & White Shake($ 9). Then added a Bailey’s kicker for each since that seemed awesome. Didn’t realize a Bailey’s shot is an additional $ 9 a piece! To be fair. I didn’t ask for the price, so that’s on me, but a little egregious. On the plus side, the drinks were damn good. Food: ordered the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Waffle($ 14) and Roasted Mushroom Waffle($ 14). Waffles are hearty and well put together, though could be a bit softer. The Roasted mushroom came with a nice side salad, yet the mushroom itself was under seasoned. The Bacon and egg waffle was good, but needed a good amount of syrup to add more flavor to the meal. I like the menu, and especially the sweets. I will have to agree with other people that value-wise you can do better. Surely a spot for a dessert-to-go.

I went to Sugar and Plumm on a Wednesday night for dinner. I ordered the chicken and waffles. I was upset the chicken is served on the bone– it would be easier if the chicken were already in pieces or they just used a chicken breast for the sake of not being a messy eater. The chicken was not easy to cut at all. Besides the fact that the dish was essentially chicken wings on waffles– the waffles were AMAZING. Crispy on the outside, fluffy and delicious on the inside. I added a fried egg which was a power move as well. The waiter was very attentive with refilling waters and giving me more syrup. I already want to come back and try the dessert!

I came here recently for lunch with a friend and it’s such a cute place! They don’t take reservations on weekends, but all in all the wait time wasn’t that bad and I got a couple macarons for later. One was a chocolate covered brownie macaron which was unique and really quite wonderful… Incredibly sweet, rich and chcolate-y. The menu was quite extensive, featuring both sweet and savory items. I was torn between something brunch-y and savory and the ice cream sundaes. My friend chose the ricotta pancake with lemon sauce, which looked amazing with colorful berries and mint on top. I finally decided on the peanut butter and jelly ice cream sundae. This consisted of peanut butter swirl ice cream, vanilla cake bites, crushed peanuts and strawberry compote. I also asked for hot fudge sauce. The sundae came in a mess of the ingredients, doused in the hot fudge sauce and plenty of whipped cream. I actually think there was a bit TOO much of the hot fudge sauce and it overpowered the other flavors, but I really enjoyed the taste of the peanut butter ice cream. The cake bites were also pretty good, but I think the strawberry was a bit too sweet and coupled with the hot fudge sauce, was bit much. Afterwards, I watched as they made other ice cream sundaes(including the one I ordered) and was a bit upset to note that these sundaes were a lot neater and nicely presented. Oh well. We looked at the candies and other items for sale and there was a ton of adorable things, but way too pricey. Overall, had a good time here and I would come back to try something savory, though I would probably be tempted by the amazing sounding desserts again.

How did I not know this amazing and cute place existed? I love it! Food/Dessert: I ordered a Candy Shop Sundae and it was amazing. It was enough to share with another person. Perfectly made and perfect solution to my sweet tooth. Service: The service was great! The ice cream attendant and store greeter was kind and offered good service. Ambiance: I absolutely loved the ambiance at Sugar Plumm. The ambiance is actually what made me want to go inside. Its an adult girly version of sweet happiness =) Pricing: Average pricing for candy, ice cream sundaes and various sweets

The ambiance takes the cake in this place. Fun, whimsical, and casual. Great for kids and groups. Tons of options for the sweet-tooth. Went here for weekend brunch and at 12pm there was no wait for 4. The crepes were reported delicious. I didn’t try it. The crunchy toast was definitely crunchy, and loved the berries and mascarpone it came with, but the toast could have used a bit more flavor. Maybe I was expecting a french toast flavor? The short ribs eggs benedict was OK. Eggs and hollandaise sauce were perfect but the short ribs that are simmered in root beer could have been a bit more tender(it was a little chewy). Good flavors all around though. The macaroons were a little more chewy than it should’ve been but the Flavors were pretty spot on. Cappucino not so good — or maybe it was the person making it. The service, although friendly, was non-existent after taking our order. She forgot to refill our coffee after we ordered a refill. Constant water refills were great.
