Great food. Staff very friendly. Quick service. And they have bathroom which is a plus. I always come here if i want a quick healthier bite.

Awful customer service. Soda was flat and the guy just said«ok try again» and kept insisting it’s fine. No attempt at fixing the problem or offering a bottled beverage. Plus the store was dirty and the garbage was overflowing. There seemed to be a manager working but he was just standing at the register staring at the same piece of paper. I will not be returning to this subway.

Bad day… toaster broke, green tomatoes, brown lettuce. Normally enjoy subway but I’ll avoid this location in the future.

Food is fine. Workers are polite. There’s even an outlet towards the back where you can charge your phone but the bathroom doesn’t have a damn lock! I had to pee in fear of someone walking in while I was going. They give a key to use for the door but it’s no use because it can be opened without a lock. Also, they had no toilet paper and when I told the workers, instead of refilling it. He just handed me 5 napkins. REALLY?! :|

My friends and I were in a rush on Thursday and needed to grab a meal STAT~! The first thing we found was Subway as they’re all over the place. $ 5 to get through a meal is what it is… I ordered an Italian BMT on wheat with everything except lettuce for $ 5: It would have been better if the sandwich had more meat. I guess that’s how Jared lost all the weight because essentially he just had a tiny salad on bread. It tasted OK, but i realized i hate banana peppers as they’re uneventful… Random thoughts: 1. Nice shop: a lot of windows and plenty of seating. 2. restroom available: although it was pretty scuzzy inside, it’s better than going in your pants or using a transit restroom… BrRrRrr~!!! 3. nice guys at the counter Summary: 3 stars as $ 5 for a meal ain’t too shabby in this economy…

No, just no. Do you ever have the feeling that something would be better if you could just do it yourself? That’s how I feel every time I step into this place. Subway, as a whole, is a great alternative for fast food. 98% of the Subway locations I have visited are neat, clean, and upbeat. For whatever reason the franchisee of this location has no direction or leadership over his employees. Every time I go here, there seems to be a new guy working, my sandwich takes forever to make, and the place is generally unclean. The last time I ate here, it took three people to make my sandwich! Is it really that hard? This location is enough to turn me off of the brand forever, but just as I am about to write them off completely I recall those desperate times on the thruway where the only restaurants are Burger King, Roy Rogers, and Subway. Subway, you win, but I can’t do the 4th Ave location anymore. My advice is that if you’re really hankering for this stuff, go to the one on 14th Street across from Footlocker.

My neighborhood subway, does the trick for a quick lunch. I usually get the veggie delight sub which is packed with fresh veggies, a little cheese if you like, and oil + vinegar. A light $ 5 lunch hits the spot every time…

Aren’t I a bully? What kind of jerkface reviews a random Subway and gives is 2 stars? Look, I don’t make a habit of doing this. I’ve never reviewed a McDonald’s. I don’t badger Red Lobster. Never hectored Sizzler. I leave Arby’s to be. Hell, I haven’t even reviewed any of the other 8 bazillion Subways in NYC. The Subway on 4th and 12th earns my distinguished spotlight because of it’s impressively and consistently awful workers. Oh, there I go again! Beat up on the minimum wage immigrants! Way to go dilbag! Wait. Hear me out. 1) They’re always furious. I have no idea why. I’m pretty sure the guy last Saturday wanted to fight me over giving him a $ 20 for my $ 5.30 sandwich. 2) It’s not like they«don’t speak English.» They really don’t speak English. A dude a few weeks ago didn’t know what«toasted» meant. Today, «wheat» left my Sandwich Artist angry and confused. 3) They try to charge you for random stuff. Some random guy kept yelling«fitty sen!» every time I pointed to toppings. It was only when I reached the register I realized I’d been charged $.50 for black olives. 4) Have I mentioned they’re seriously the most surly bunch of humans you can find this side of a Somali pirate bay? Truth be told, I’ve come to enjoy it. Every time I need some cheap nutrition, I strap on my bulletproof vest and get ready to brawl.

I don’t give out bad ratings for nothing, but Subway’s business model lacks in one very strong regard: customer service. First, I’ve never been a huge fan of their sandwiches, yes, they’re OK, but consistency varies too much — sometimes too much cheese, too little meat, etc. They need to enforce greater standardization during and especially after training franchisees. More importantly, they have a terrible way of dealing with their franchisees. Unlike most other major fast food corporations(McD’s, Burger King, etc.) Subway is very decentralized and leaves most operational decisions in the hand of the franchisee. While that sounds like it promotes independence, what actually ends up happening is the franchisee has to fend for him/herself, and has very meager corporate support in their venture. Likewise, quality can take a major nosedive because Subway does not have the resources or even the structure to do quality checks the way other fast food restaurants do. Finally, in case of customer complaint, at any other place the problem is addressed by an independent team at the corporate center. At Subway, all they do is simply refer your problem back to the store manager. This is very problematic because the vast majority of the time, the complaint has to do with the store manager or one of his employees. Why would any manager have an incentive to censure himself? I’ve had this happen to me on at least 2 occasions. In one particularly memorable instance, I tried to order a sandwich using a Subway coupon. I gave the clerk at the counter the coupon at the beginning and told him I intended to use it, and then I asked him to make me some sandwiches. Everything was fine until it came time to pay. When I reached for my wallet, he said the coupon was no good because it was only for«regular» sandwiches. According to him, a «regular» sandwich was a «cold» sandwich, and both of my sandwiches involved the use of a microwave. I told him that made no sense, and moreover, I specifically gave him the coupon at the beginning, so it was very clear that I intended to use it. If the sandwiches weren’t eligible, all he had to do was tell me — that was the whole point of giving it to him in the first place! When the manager came out and asked what was up, the clerk accused me of lying about what sandwiches I wanted to order and said I gave him the coupon only when I approached the register. I left in disgust without the sandwiches and immediately contacted Subway. After two months of back and forth, all they ended up doing was referring me back to the store manager, who obviously didn’t even bother responding. While I agree that Subway has an excellent marketing team(hey, they created Jared, and the five dollar footlong slogan is easy to remember), I’m appalled by their lack of care for the franchisee’s performance, their inadequate protection of the consumer, and their poor management, oversight, and response to the situation. I’m happy to say that in the last year, I have never since patronized a Subway, and until they take concrete steps to make a change, they can consider me a steadfast opponent to their business.

This Subway has spinach! After the great spinach recall of ’06 it seemed that every Subway had vowed to never serve spinach again… but this daring Subway has spinach and sweet peppers, making it a 5-star vegan-friendly Subway!
