I wouldn’t be writing a review of a chain shoe store’s service but there is about one nice employee here. The rest will literally roll their eyes at you while you ask them to get you shoes. This is your job lady so don’t be upset that I need shoes from you! It takes an eternity to get said shoes. I got a pair that had been walked around in quite a few times and I was intending to buy them despite my reservation to give this place a sale. So I made eye rolling lady get me a new pair. She deserved to work just a little bit harder to make that sale. I wouldn’t come here to buy shoes… plenty of other locations without having to deal with judgement by the staff. Also if anything for entertainment sake(if you have some time cuz it takes forever) try em on and buy them online! They have better sales anyway.

I love Steve Madden shoes but when I visited this store to buy shoes the service was so poor that after 30 minutes I left appalled.

I am not a fan of people lying to me. I asked for a specific pair of shoes in my size and the salesperson brought me those shoes and another pair that were similar to the first. So I said thank you and tried both on. I ended up liking the 2nd pair he brought me and when I asked the price, he said«$ 159 but I will do you a favor and give them to you $ 149» so I thought hm ok that’s nice! Before going to the register, I saw the display of those shoes and picked them up to see they were actually $ 129. I told the sales person and he pretended to be so shocked. Very annoying!

I wasn’t greeted. It was chilly in the store, and the mood was a little chilly as well. I walked in, didn’t feel like I was wanted in there and made my exit.

Sold me a pair of worn shoes. Maybe it’s my fault because I didn’t look at the shoes before I left the store. When I got the chance to return them(at the upper east side location) the manger and sale associate was rude. Would not purchase another Steve Madden product, quality is cheap and horrible and the employees are rude.

I had a decent shoe-buying experience here. There are two floors! I didn’t realize this until the second time I visited. It’s usually crowded(in a tourist-y area) and getting the shoes to try on may be a bit of a wait. But, they had the shoes I wanted, I got a discount for giving them an email address and no one stole my old shoes. Hooray!

Walked in here and almost immediately walked out today. The selection is terrible, the salespeople were all lazily leaning on the desk, and it was immediately obvious that there was very little for me– and I wasn’t even looking for anything too specific!(Formal shoes to go with a dark grey dress). Maybe a good place to find shoes for a really expensive Halloween costume?

I know Steve Madden is a pretty middle-of-the-road designer, but I love my SMs and they seem to outlast a lot of the other brands in the same category(*ahem,* Aldo, Nine West). I actually have a pair of Madden pumps I bought in high school that I wear frequently and are still in great condition. This is the only two-story Steve Madden I’ve seen, and I love every square foot of it. Shoes are on the main floor and clothing/accessories are on the upper. The staff is always great and it’s close to plenty of other shops(like Aldo, if that’s your thing) if you can’t find what you’re looking for.
