C’est un des grands magasins américains, quasiment un incontournable à NYC, un genre de Galeries Lafayette en plus grand, en plus classe, en plus propre, en plus gentil… en plus américain, quoi !
Nous y sommes passés un soir vers 20h, et le magasin était loin d’être désert.
Le personnel, dans tous les rayons où nous sommes passés, était adorable, accueillant et souriant (parfumerie, vêtements femme…).
Ma maman cherchait une marque de jeans bien précise, et elle l’a trouvée ! La conseillère était super pro, posant des questions pertinentes sur sa taille et ses habitudes vestimentaires, et elle est allée chercher en réserve exactement ce qu’il fallait pour ma petite maman !
Bref, chouette expérience dans cette enseigne mythique !

This is a review of the men’s department. I went here to find a suit and some shirts and I had literally the worst customer service experience possible. Rude, slow, inattentive, pick an adjective. The store sales staff clearly work on commission here and they will size you in 5 seconds and decide if you’re worth their time.

I want to thank Connie Johnson from 3^rd floor Dresses for her assistance. She was lovely and professional. Bloomingdales is lucky to have such a wonderful employee.

Anna in free people was spunky. I was into it. Her style matches her personality, which is pretty rad. She had a familiarity to her which made my overall experience on the 2^nd floor in Bloomingdales truly unforgettable. Every now and then I now take the escalator up to the second floor and walk by the back to see if I can get a look at Anna. When she’s there my mind is overwhelmed with only the positive memories she gave me that wonderful day. When she isn’t there I’m quite sad but only more happy to then visit the next day to see if she’s there.

Bloomie’s became my favorite department store since Loehmann’s closed down. I frequently order from them online, and my most visited location is the one in Huntington. I love this Manhattan Bloomie’s though. I visited once in the summer with my brother and just recently by myself before going to see Phantom of the Opera… again!
It’s pretty easy to find what you are looking for when you enter this Bloomie’s. As fate would have it in the summer I entered right by the handbag section when I needed to return a handbag that was too small for me and than I subsequently exchanged it for another handbag that tempted me.
When I went this past week I walked right into the cosmetic department which is what I needed because I was purchasing some clinique items and snagging the bonus, and I needed new MAC eyebrow gel.
All the employees I’ve dealt with have been helpful and friendly, I love when people are nice about taking my money when I spend it lol. This past visit I also received a free monkey tote for the Chinese new year, so I was thrilled with the fact that I received something free for just walking into the store.
Some of the items here can be very expensive but like Loehmann’s if you find a sale you can do well!

Staff was extremely slow and not considerate. It took us 30 minutes to get the store credit card. And we had to jump on the call ourselves to get a small credit line limit raise (initial credit card line is only $ 500 rarely enough for a good purchase). For similar experience, Saks Fifth Avenue only costed us 5 minutes to apply for the store credit card and we got a much higher credit card limit. I am very disappointed at the Bloomie experience and hope they can improve their check-​out efficiency.

Came here last night with intentions to purchase a pair of sneakers and the sales team on the shoe floor were utterly useless. The salesmen offered little to no help and made me walk back and forth on the floor. I didn’t see any employees near where I saw the sneakers I was interested in so I decided to go towards the boots and heels. Mind you there were many employees walking around doing nothing. After one of the salesman said, «I don’t work in the sneaker section! You have to go to that section! I can’t help you! We have different stock rooms!,» I was appalled. He could’ve helped me by assisting me to the other stock room or finding another salesman to help me, but all he did was shoo me away to back to the section I just came from that I stated had NO employees nearby. Came back to another employee that was in the section I grabbed my sneaker from, but said he then proceeded to say he didn’t work in this section either. I proceeded to ask him, «Then where are those employees that belong here?!» Why are there so many employees blankly walking around that floor, but none of them offer even the slightest bit of help? This is supposedly a «grand» department store, but they can’t even offer decent customer service.

I now have a new credit card and still had the same problem when applying a discount to make a purchase online. I called and after more than ten minutes on the phone, they gave me the same excuse from last time. A friend had the same problem and had to cancel the transaction. Never buy anything online from them.

Im a bloomies loyalist and this one is the best of them all. I love the one on the magnificent mile but nothing like the flagship store in NYC.

After purchasing a watch for upwards of $ 2500 I was sent to «watch repair,» where there was one man working who took about 45 minutes per watch while about 20 people waited. Tell me how this is any standard of customer service. When you spend money with a store for a particular brand you expect the customer service to reflect the price tag and product. I’ll never again purchase a luxury product from you store. I know I’m one in a billion, but I assume others who waited with me have the same sentiment. Fix your service, it’s embarrassing.

I’m not sure what I can say about the flagship Bloomie’s that hasn’t already been said, but it has all the glitz, sophistication, and fun you could possibly expect. The selection of brands and designers is impressive, as is the vast array of dining options from 40 Karats to Le Train Bleu. I always enjoy shopping there, or at least making an impromptu visit on the way to my parents’ apartment. ;)

A previous resident of my place was a catalog maniac and subscribed to a jillion mailing lists. As someone who despises junk mail, I’ve waded into the slow process of contacting each company and requesting removal. All of the companies have been fine to deal with for the most part, but Bloomingdale’s has been the worst.
On each mailing: «If you do not wish to receive information about our promotions, please send us your mailing labels and Bloomingdale’s account number, if you have one, with your request for removal to: Bloomingdale’s Mail Removal, c/​o MCCS Customer Service, P.O. Box 8215, Mason, Ohio 45 050.»
How antiquated! By mail, really? What year is this again? Whatever, like I’m going to waste one of my previous Forever stamps on their garbage.
I called the 1−888−922−7026 customer service line but it’s miserable. How are you supposed to proceed if you don’t have an account number? I just randomly pressed digits and also did the same when asked for my SSN. Ugh, no. The befuddling phone tree maze will make you want to stab pens into your eye sockets. Eventually I was on hold waiting for an agent. Having enough, I admitted defeat and hung up.
As for the actual store, the layout is confusing. The sales staff don’t seem very approachable. And once we tried to go to 40 Carrots and it was closed for some reason like renovations. Harrumph.

Love Bloomingdale’s. We walked from Times Square in the cold, when we got inside, the store was very warm. Always nice to shop here.

I love me a grand department store, and I love a grand department store with a spectacular sale! We chose Bloomies as our destination for Black Friday because we were looking for a black formal gown and it just seemed like this was a good choice to find one on Black Friday… and find one we did!
The Size Zero collegiate found her dress in less than thirty minutes with the help of a remarkable saleslady named Stacy. We purchased and were told if we took our receipt downstairs, for Black Friday we would receive a $ 30 gift card for every $ 100 we spent. So we collected $ 90, and I went off to perfumes. We then collected $ 60 and British Boyfriend found himself a scarf. We opted to break the cycle, and pushed our way outdoors where we were free! Free, and loaded with bags full of DEALS! A perfect Black Friday retail destination for the whole family!

Bloomingdale’s? Am I dreaming! I had to use the bathroom and it is the best in the neighborhood! They have a huge ladies lounge! They even have a phone charging station! Check out my picture. It’s as you enter the second floor ladies lounge!
This store is beautiful since the renovation! I remember when I hated to use their facilities it smelled so bad. I did have one mishap today. The bathroom door locks have a slide lock that was difficult to open as I was exiting. It somehow nicked the back of my finger and put a deep (but small) cut. I told the nice lady that was in there cleaning. All she said was wash it. I thought I needed an antiseptic and band aid. I washed my hands twice. The trouble started when I left the bathroom. I found I couldn’t get it to stop bleeding. I did want to look around the store but not holding a tissue over my finger.
To end this boring story: I went up to two ladies that were giving out store benefits for people that spend $ 100. TIP (You get $ 15 for every $ 100 you spend through this weekend. You must use your earned benefits by December 24^th, 2015.) The one lady was kind enough to call someone that brought me two antiseptic pads and four band aids! Thank goodness. I went back to the lounge cleaned the cut and wrapped the band aid tight enough in the hopes it would stop the bleeding.
They get four stars for having a means of helping a customer in need. Plus they have a first aid and safety supply cabinet somewhere in the store. They went out of their way to have someone bring the supplies to me instead of just sending me there. She did say she would take me to the supplies if someone did not come in a reasonable amount of time. Plus they gave me more than enough first aid supplies. Now I have an antiseptic wipe and the band aids in my bag for future mishaps!

I have only been shopping here during sales as there are a lot of temptations…

Nice store, a bit pricey on main floor but price get lower if u go up stairs. Fun Xmas store.
Nepresso boutique on housewares floor. I like the linens department especially when on sale.

5 stars for the merchandise. 1 star for the employees. I love everything in this store. If money were no issue, I would be here all the time. But when I need help, I can’t count on the employees. They are rude, and not gracious. I tried scheduling with a personal shopper when I was looking for a special occasion dress to avoid the regular employees, but the one I was paired with wasn’t much better.

This is the best bloomingdales in the city. the soho location is small and the salespeople suck (except for the makeup counter girls who are sweet and helpful).
HUGE selection, I go here for many things so I can review by Dept/​store.
Louis Vuitton boutique– some of the best service I’ve ever had. They are all so excited and fun and knowledgable and didn’t blink when I used multiple gift cards one time. Every Louis Vuitton store I’ve been in could write the book on customer service.
Space NK– great product selection, friendly and helpful staff, not pushy to buy stuff and pricing isn’t bad and on par with salons.
Makeup– mixed reviews, Clinique and MAC counters are nice but limited selection.
Home Dept– great selection, really helpful, had the exact coffee machine I needed.
Nspresso boutique– again super nice staff, free espresso if you’re shopping! And when you buy your machine or more coffee they seem genuinely happy for you.
Overall, really good bloomingdales, just wish there was better crowd control and sometimes the non designer clothes areas look real messy, not that I would ever shop there

For some reason, every purchase I do with a good discount does not go through. I have tried to get the same item four times. Supposedly, there is a problem with my credit card and Bloomingdale’s customer service tells me to call my bank. I have called my bank every time and they say everything has been authorized.
However, when I purchase something without a discount, the payment goes through without any problem, despite the fact that my credit card has been saved and used for both transactions. If it wasn’t because my friends used Bloomingdale’s for their Gift Registry, I would not buy anything from there.

I don’t like giving bad reviews but if this saves someone else from a nightmare wedding registry experience like ours then it will be worth it. I should have seen the signs from the beginning when the first issue was that their computers were down for at least 3 or 4 days straight and the scanners weren’t working. This caused a lot of leg work with the registry process from the beginning because we had to hand write everything down by hand/​take pictures with our phones then go online and find the items and add them to the registry. Then, I had a terrible time with my log in and that took at least a week back and forth with customer service to sort out.
A few of our wedding gifts arrived shattered due to poor packaging and when I contacted my registry consultant about it, we were told we had to bring the items back in person to have them replaced. This created at least 3 separate trips to the store and returns/​exchanges are never a fast process there.
Finally, it came time to complete our registry. We received a coupon to do so at an extra percentage off that expired on a Sunday. So my husband and I made the trip on Sunday and worked with a seemingly nice employee who helped us make our $ 2000.00+ purchase. Because there were several items, when I got home (and after the store had closed for the day) I checked the receipt against our registry list and discovered that this employee had missed several items. I sent her an email listing the items we still needed to purchase and asking if we could still receive the extra discount even though the coupon was now expired.
The next day I received a call from an employee in the registry department whom I had never dealt with. She was gruff and rude and went on a tirade about how the other employee had given us an extra discount and also discounted items that were not eligible for the discount — as if this were my fault. She ended her rant by saying «Ok bye» and almost hung up on me before I could ask to speak with the employee who rung up my items. Once I got that employee on the phone she was incredibly defensive and threatened to refund everything and ring it back up correctly i.e. the way she should have the first time.
At this point, I couldn’t believe everything I was experiencing so I asked to speak with her manager. She told me her manager was on vacation. So I asked to speak with the supervisor who was filling in for that manager. She told me she wasn’t there. I had to keep asking questions to get a straight answer — that she had stepped away from her desk. She told me the supervisor would call me back.
At this point, all I wanted to do was complete my registry with the items that were still missing. Hours went by and the supervisor didn’t call me back. When I called back I was told she was still unavailable until I demanded to speak with her. Once on the phone, she was incredibly nice and helpful and we agreed on which items we would add and that she would honor the coupon except for on the couple of items that were ineligible. I left my credit card information with her and she passed all of this on to a customer service rep because this supervisor was taking vacation for the next several days. The transaction was completed and all was right again. Until I received an email from the customer service rep saying she had applied the coupon code to the items that were ineligible and could she correct the mistake by charging my card for the difference?
All I could think was, is this a joke? Never in my life have I had a retailer ask something like that when they’ve made a mistake. I said no I don’t believe that’s the right thing to do on Bloomingdale’s part from a customer service perspective after all the mistakes that have been made and she sent back a sarcastic response.
All of this for what? Do these employees undergo ANY customer service training? Who treats customers like this these days?
It seems like a lot of their systems are antiquated and customer service skills are just non-​existent or old fashioned — I can’t figure out which. Either way, I don’t recommend registering here and they’ve lost my business as a long-​time customer. It really took all the joy and excitement at least out of this particular aspect of starting a new life with my husband.

4 stars because of two ladies that helped me out here tonight. I came in 20 mins before closing and the Tory Burch sales woman was friendly and not annoying like most sales reps. The other lady l quickly found a cash register that’s open since by the time I got what I wanted the store was closed. Anyways that allowed me to make my purchase which made me very happy. On the other hand I walked into the shoe section and the lady just stared at me (I know I’m amazingly perfect and everything but staring too long is rude, be respectful since buyers like me are the reason the have a job. Also the store is very well kept and great, I’d live here. Like seriously

Great staff in the fine jewelry department. Highly recommend Erica. Such a sweet helpful girl. She went out of her way to find me what I wanted and knew her jewelry very well. great service.

I have mixed reviews of Bloomingdale’s at 59^th St. in New York. I registered there for my wedding and received excellent service from the Registry Department. I felt like they took their time to walk me around the department on multiple occasions and are very helpful with returns, exchanges and answering questions.
However, on a few other occasions when I have been in the store shopping, it is SO difficult to find someone to help you. I was there this past Sunday and one of the sales people was very rude to a woman who was just trying to find someone to help her purchase something. Again, it was difficult to find anyone of the floor to help me.

1* for customer service, sorry edit that, there is ZERO service! In there yesterday with my wife for over one hour. We were not acknowledged even once! I am astounded at a store like Bloomingdales does not know about their lackluster staff.
Monday afternoon at 3 pm and store relatively empty, why would you not smile or greet customers or when they are touching/​looking at merchandise ask if they need assistance? I have been in this industry for over 20 years and I am a believer in customer service at every level.
We were on 4 different floors and the same vibe on each one. Looking at handbags on ground floor no one batted an eyelid when we picked up to look. Designer collection floor sales associates just standing around looking thoroughly bored out of their minds! Even saw 3 of the sales associates while we were there visibly yawning and 2 chewing gum like cows chewing their cuds! We were also in both shoe departments designer and contemporary and not even a nod so we knew we existed! I wouldn’t mind, but we were both well dressed and looking to possibly make a purchase. Also on the contemporary women’s clothing floor we were also invisible.
We did not make it to the men’s as I was already amazed at the sub par vibe we were Getting. Sorry for intruding on you Bloomingdales!
If I was rating the clothing and shoes I would give 4 stars as the selection is really good and comprehensive. Lovely merchandise deserves capable staff. They are lucky to be employed and should take more pride in their positions and give SOME service.
Will not be back to 59^th st location.

Bloomingdale’s is a decently sized department store and I always associated it with being a short walk from when we go to visit Central Park (south).
Not everything in this store is expensive or overpriced. In fact the last time I went shopping here I was able to get some good deals in the men’s section. Not only did I get some good deals but the person looking after the area mentioned to me that if I was a tourist they give a discount on top of already discounted items.
I had ended up buying a couple shirts and socks in the Ralph Lauren section and was given friendly service and a discount I didn’t even know about.
My wife likes the cosmetic counter here and will either buy those types of things at Bloomingdale’s or Barney’s.

Hier gibt es etwas für den großen, aber auch etwas für den kleinen Geldbeutel.
Bekannte Designer haben teilweise Second Hand Verkauf und so bekommt man einige tolle Stücke zum reduzierten Preis. Schnäppchen sind das zwar immer noch nicht aber stöbern kann man ja mal.
Die Aufteilung der Waren in den jeweiligen Etagen kann etwas zur Verwirrung beitragen (Damenschuhe gibt es sowohl in der Zweiten, als auch in der Vierten Etage) aber sobald man sich daran gewöhnt hat findet man sich doch zurecht.

I survived X-​Mas-​Shopping!!! Zu weihnachten ist es hier wirklich super voll. Im Grunde hat mich der Laden an Karstadt erinnert ich fand ihn nicht so besonders. Natürlich ist hier alles viel größer und wie gesagt vermutlich nicht nur zu Weihnachten sehr überlaufen. Dafür sind die Verkäufer sehr nett und helfen weiter. Ich suchte eine bestimmte Marke, die sie hier aber nicht verkauften. Trotzdem recherchierte ein Verkäufer per i-​phone wo es in NY den Pullover gibt und erklärte mir erklärte den Weg, quasi zur Konkurrenz. Kleiner Tip: beim Visitors-​Office bekommt man als Tourist nach Vorlage des Passes einen Rabatt von 10% auf alles und ein Geschenk. Wobei letzteres bei uns eine sperrige, relativ schwere Kerze war. Als Tourist an der Grenze zur Gepäckobergrenze ein eher sinnfreies Geschenk

Ein echtes Luxus-​Kaufhaus. Einkaufen geht hier nur mit dem dicken Geldbeutel, aber dafür bekommt man auch einiges geboten.
Sogar mit freundlichenTürstehern an den Eingängen, die einen gleich zur richtigen Abteilung schicken.
Sehr ungewöhnlich und auch toll.
Mich begeistert vor allem die Schaufenster Dekoration ganz besonders zur Weihnachtszeit! Da findet man in New York einige Schmuckstücke und Bloomingdales gehört auf jeden Fall dazu!

Mir gefällt Bloomingdales besser als Macy’s… Naja Geschmacksache… Aber wenn ich es begründen soll, würde ich sagen dass Bloomingdales für mich ein bisschen mehr Style (und Classy) als Macy’s hat. Vielleicht liegt es daran dass es Macy’s überall gibt. Naja Geschmacksache… Wie Galeria Kaufhof und Karstadt also… je öfter es etwas gibt um so mehr Exklusivität geht dadurch verloren?

Man kennt diese grosse, amerikanische Warenhauskette in allen Staaten von USA mehr oder weniger gut.
Recht hat — epenli -, in jeder Hinsicht wie er
Bloomingdales hier vorstellt.
Bestimmt ist dieses Haus nicht ganz mit Macy‘s zu vergleichen.
Das Angebot von Bloomingdales ist von hohem Niveau, ausgezeichneter Qualität und ausgezeichnet sortiert.
Man findet fast alles.
Dafür ist allerdings das Preisniveau bei Macy‘s etwas angenehmer für den Geldbeutel. :-)
Wer nach New York fährt z.B. im März, findet ganz hervorragende Möglichkeiten in allen Department Stores an den Cosmetic Counter
günstig Cosmeticas + teure Geschenke zu bekommen. Wer dann in die guten Häuser geht bekommt besonders wertvolle Geschenke, die es in Deutschland leider nicht gibt.
Auch Sales gibt es immer und überall.

Geht in Le Train bleu zum Lunch. Neben einem ausgezeichneten Essen (Preise f. NY akzeptabel) gibt da das schrillste Publikum von NY zu beobachten.
Einkaufen kann man auch wo anders

Fantástica loja de departamentos. O grande problema são os preços que são bastante salgados mas vale a pena a ida à Bloomingdales que é sem dúvida um dos destaques no que se refere a compras em NY. Adorei estar nessa loja que tem simplesmente tudo que você possa imaginar. Acaba com a nossa Americanas por exemplo.

Bloomingdales hat alles — Möbel, Kleidung, Haushaltswaren. Und das Publikum ist so berauschend wie das Angebot. Ein echtes Stück New York — und das seit 1872. Hier findet man alles nur vom Feinsten, die tollsten Handtaschen, die besten und qualitätsvollsten Designer, die schicksten Schuhe — und die perfekteste Dekoration: sei es nun zum Beatlesjahr oder zu Weihnachten. Trotz der langen Tradition präsentiert sich Bloomingdales immer noch völlig up to date.

Rather unimpressed with the sales team last night. I went in looking to get a nice winter coat which I haven’t done in a few years. I’d looked online and had a couple of items picked out to ask about. First, I waited around for about 20 minutes while the entire team in the «Lab» section fawned over some rich kid who had a million questions, haggled over whether she could apply several discounts at once, and called mommy every two minutes to ask permission to spend or to get the security code for the credit card. Saw at least three guys switch out to handle her, with the previous ones retreating, I guess, to the staff area to recover.
Eventually I asked one guy at a register where the Andrew Marc coats were. He pointed across the room and didn’t look up again to see if I’d found the section. After waiting around and eventually cornering one of the staff, I had the chance to ask a question. (Not sure how many staff had walked by, doing that obvious thing where they stare straight ahead to avoid eye contact.) «Are these all of the Andrew Marc coats?» There was one style that was okay, but they didn’t have my size. «Yeah, I think this is it.» «There were a couple on the web site I was hoping to try on. One was called the Stuyvesant, and then there was the Mercer classic leather coat.» «I guess you was hopin’ to find a bigger selection? Well, the web site and the store is two different managements.» «Um, okay. Thanks?» «You’re welcome!» Disengages.
No effort to help me find other coats, order the ones I wanted, etc. The flagship store in Manhattan isn’t supposed to stock coats prominently featured on the web site? That’s a bit stupid, if true (big if). This place seems to be coasting on its big name and the assumption that tourists will keep buying no matter what. There are some very nice smaller places in the area where the employees talk to you of their own free will.
