The people who work here are very kind and helpful. I came in for the first time in April and about a month later I returned and they remembered me! Very thoughtful people who love their store and take pride in their products. The man who was working the first day I went gave me a small keychain with Om Mani Padme Hum on it as a thank you for visiting his shop. Very nice.

Shakya Trading has beautiful Buddha statues, some singing bowls, a small selection of malas, jewelry, and other Tibetan and Nepalese Buddhist gift items at moderate-to-high Chinatown tourist prices. The displays fewer items than similar stores in the area, so there’s more space to enjoy browsing. The owner is pleasant and helpful.

I wandered into this shop today when I spotted«Tibetan» on the front awning. Although it is actually more of a Nepalese store, I was impressed with the quality of their statues, jewelry and other items. I am not familiar enough with prices of the goods they sell to know if they are high or low, but the man and woman in the store were friendly and in my opinion, it is worth a look the next time you are in the area. I did see on their business card that they also have an office in East Elmhurst, NY and are a subsidiary of a manufacturer of religious items, statues and gifts from Nepal.
