I made a Huge mistake, relying on these 1-star Unilocal reviews! Because of the poor reviews, I went on a wild goose chase day of uniform shopping in Brooklyn and Chinatown — a melting pot of rude, out-of-stock, shady, overpriced, etc. So, today, I went to Schlesinger B & Sons, since they sounded helpful on the phone, and had my size in stock. I found them to be courteous, professional, helpful, well-stocked, fairly priced, tailor onsite, and are convenient to the W 14th subway stop. A very nice/kind family business for over a hundred years.

I entered store and was id’d twice. Jesus, I’m just buying generic cargo pants, not a firearm. Now the pants. They’re junk. Faded from navy blue to a washed-out blue after first washing! One of the two flex-cuff straps came off. Left pocket stitching came off. Right thigh pocket stitching is unraveling. Buy elsewhere. Pants need to last more than 1 week.

I understand poor service is about what you expect in most uniform shops, so I’m not giving them the one star based on that alone. The one star is for them telling me that«They» don’t make women’s police uniform pants. I absolutely HATE it when a shop keeper tells me that something isn’t made when they don’t have it. Language lesson: «We don’t carry it.» Correct. «They don’t make it.» Incorrect. Especially when my ass was wearing a pair before it got to fat to zip them up. I repeated«You don’t carry them.» he repeated«They don’t make them.» Ladies. take yourselves over to I Buss on 141 e 23rd. They DO have women’s uni pants. Seems they do make them.
