I used The Eco Laundry just for DRY CLEAN for about 6 months. I used it two or three times before and all was good– cashmere sweaters would come back nice and clean. Last time (2 weeks ago) I dropped 3 cashmere cardigans and waited for 4 days to get it back. Price wasn’t bad — $ 31 for all 3– sounded good. They were a day late, which didn’t bother me, since their dry cleaning was not done on premises. After I picked it up, I brought it home– none of the items were actually cleaned. Lint and some household smell still presented. Not a slightest smell of dry clean. I went back right away, since one of the cardigan I needed for my trip to Europe and the manager was very nice about it and said it would be sent back for do-​over. While he was nice, he tried to tell me that it didnt’t smell like dry clean, because they were organic and there shouldn’t be any smell of cleaning product. I would buy that, but I knew for a fact, that cleaned sweaters had very distinct smell (one of the sweaters that they cleaned before still has a slight aroma).
Well, shit happens, and my husband was very positive about it– it could be an honest mistake and dry cleaning place sent it back without cleaning it by mistake.
Because of Memorial Day, I needed to wait another 6 days for dry clean to do it over. I just picked it up and I am very disappointed. They just repackaged it and didn’t clean it at all– same household smell and lint. Waisted $ 31 and 2 weeks.
I guess Organic Cleaning means not cleaning it at all– environment is safe that way.
Bummer.

I’ve been using Eco laundry for about three years now and absolutely love them. My schedule is tough which means I’m not home super frequently and they are always very understanding. I’ve found them to be super timely with their delivery Windows and the people I speak to over the phone are lovely and very helpful. Don’t think I could recommend any place more. I’ve found they also get out stains well and are fairly well priced (w that said, everything in Chelsea is expensive). On the whole I wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone looking for a new dry cleaner /​wash and fold.

They go the extra mile. While I was in there, they told me about a customer (see below) who had a button come off of a shirt — a common occurrence. THEY CALLED THE DESIGNER to get a replacement, and STILL the customer yelled at them. I arrived about 10 minutes after all this took place, and they were so gracious and kind to me. Did an EXCELLENT JOB on my coat, and are going to repair and clean another coat. This is the the kind of old-​fashioned service people dream of. Please give them a chance. And if you see the review about the damaged garment, say a little prayer for that person. How sad does your life have to be when a dry cleaner goes the extra mile to get you a matching button from the designer, and because it’s out of stock, you get one that is close by not quite perfect, so you explode at the cleaner? Poor lady. She must have a lot of other stress to deal with. As for me, I travel from Hell’s Kitchen for this extra-​good, extra-​caring team. A +++++++++

I used these guys for about a year and a half. They’re on the expensive side at $ 1.30 a pound. The laundry itself for wash and fold was great. They never lost anything and my laundry always came out well. The service on the phone always had a slightly rude tone, though, and many pick ups and drop offs were late, which made me late to work more than once. I switched after they started charging a $ 5 delivery fee without notifying me. I called and said I would continue using them without it but they couldn’t waive it. There are too many other places that offer free pick up and drop off and lower prices (without the rude tone) for me to keep using them.

THE WORST. DAMAGED MY DESIGNER COLLECTION GARMENT. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN.
It is very unfortunate that zero star is not an option because I would give them 0 star (or a negative) without a hesitation.
I decided to use the Eco Laundry after reading reviews on Unilocal.Worst mistake ever. I spent over $ 200 for dry cleaning there and when I got my garments back, ²⁄₃ of them came back with pungent cigarette smell. Even worse, they damaged a button of my designer piece which I paid for close to $ 1000.
I brought the garment back immediately and asked them to fix it. TWO MONTHS went by and I heard nothing. No updates or check ins even after I called them twice and asked for the owner to get back to me. They never called. Very irresponsible.
Since they never called me, I dropped by after two months and they said that the garment is fixed and is ready for a pick up. How awful is it that they didn’t even let me know when they were done fixing it.
Anyways, I looked at the garment and I was HORRIFIED. They replaced my original beautiful shell button with this cheap looking black plastic button that you can find anywhere. I was extremely disappointed and upset and asked where my original button was (because even though it was damaged, I would much prefer to put that back on than that cheap plastic button they had replaced it with), they said they threw it away. How ridiculous is this? They replaced my designer’s original button without telling me and even THREW IT AWAY without my consent.
I do not care what their excuse was. Even if they couldn’t find the same button from the designer, they should have first informed me of the situation and then asked my permission if it was okay to replace the button with what they found in garment district. They did none of that (for two months!) and the button they replaced it with looks nothing like the original designer’s piece.
When I asked for a compensation, the owner was extremely unapologetic and irresponsible and said he has done his job and couldn’t offer anything else. He even said that he went an «extra mile» for contacting the designer to check if they had the same button. Ridiculous, considering that they are the one who damaged my designer’s button in the first place, it was their MINIMUM duty/​job to search for it, which they FAILED. He actually BLAMED me for not having an extra button. I was questioning his integrity at that point. He didn’t seem to care how unhappy I, THE CUSTOMER, was with the service I received from them.
The customer service is non-​existent and this is the worst dry cleaning service that I’ve ever received in my entire life.
Now my $ 1000 designer piece looks cheap because of what they have done to the garment.
I hope my review saves some clothes for follower Unilocal readers.
BAD BUSINESS. So don’t go to the Eco Laundry.

They lost my partner’s $ 3,500 coat.
We brought it for dry cleaning and to have a button fixed. When my partner dropped the coat off they said they would give him a call when it would be ready.
A month later we didn’t hear back and we went to pick up the coat and they didn’t have it. We specifically asked to tell us were they sent it and they had no information for us nor they themselves knew where the coat was sent — or maybe they didn’t want to tell us because they don’t use a an eco or organic facility as they falsely claim. On top of it they were very apathetic and completely unapologetic.

I can not actually compare to other areas since this is literally the only laundry business I Have gone to in NYC but I adore it! The owner is really fine and makes sure you’re entirely satisfied with the service. I ‘ve several bits to hang dry and this really is not an issue. Everything has consistently return totally and smelling fantastic (they’ve non-​scented too though). I’d say that I believe it takes a little more than most areas normally in the event that you drop off one morning you’ll be able to pick up at the end of the following day. I believe it is worth it though.

This place is awesome! And we should all be mindful of our laundry/​dry cleaning choices and solutions, every little move helps the planet. I live very far from Eco, but it’s close by my work, and I feel better when I dry clean my blazers and coats environmental consciously.

Ecolaundry is a pretty average laundry place as far as I can tell. I’ve done my laundry here a few times — generally suit dry cleaning & shirt washing. The quality is good and they are good about communication to make the process go well.

They are fantastic! Friendly and efficient service, excellent and reliable delivery, and the best part is that they clean my laundry extremely well! I’ve never had any problems with my clothes, and they always smell fresh, feel soft, and are folded neatly. As a bonus, Sharee, who is often the person who answers the phone and helps you at the front desk, is an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT. She is always kind, warm, cheerful and extremely helpful.

Popped into this place whilst I was staying in NYC for a couple of weeks and the service was amazing. As it was a Monday and a quiet day, dropped off a huge bag of laundry and had it back within 4 hours. Would definitely use again when in Chelsea!

I spilled red wine all over my white pants and Eco Laundry was able to get it out without a problem! The seams came out of the bottom hem while dry cleaning and they were able to fix it with no charge! The customer service is absolutely amazing, I will definitely be going back!

I see comments about bad customer service. They must not have talked to Sherry. She is a good person with a smile in her voice who calmly takes care of business.

I have been a customer for over 3 years and I haven’t reviewed too many things on Unilocal but I felt this deserved a review. In the past there were some little hiccups, but in the past year I have noticed changes, and absolute change in customer service, but most specifically the quality, organization and efficiency of the service I am getting. I was faithful to them because I am very eco friendly, and being the only TRULY eco friendly dry cleaner (did my research) I wanted to truly give them a shot, and spend my money where it would do the best good. I am SO glad I did. They really got the rhythm going now and I am so glad, because a good dry cleaner is hard to find! My silk Chanel scarf has never been more delicately cleaned and perfect! So happy!

Cheaper than the regular laundry place. Cheaper than the regular laundry place, they even have better laundry equipment’s.
The in-​charge was very thoughtful, they let me leave my laundry and came after a few hours and my laundry are still there.

I really wanted to love this place and make it my new dry cleaners. Their customer service is lovely, the price is great, and the turnaround time is always quick.
However, they can never get any stains out. Each time I bring something in, point out the stain, tell them what it was (usually food, and nothing crazy: avocado, a little sauce, etc.) my clothes always come back with the same stain. The pricier organic cleaning I was using in Brooklyn got these same stains out 90% of the time, so I’m not sure what’s going on with Eco.
Really wanted to love it, but can’t recommend for getting stains out! Will have to pay to take my newly dry cleaned clothes to another dry cleaner.

Be sure to go in and point out the stains you want them to dry clean. Or you may have to go back and have it redo – it’s free but still a hassle! I would like to use their free pickup but after redo a couple of times I just couldn’t use it anymore. At least free drop off is nice! Also a bit on the pricier end.
