Precise Brows

For quick service with great results if you are in the neighborhood stop in. My eye brows were threaded here and it was a great experience. I gave instructions on the styling that I favor for my brows and they were arched just the way I like.

Hidden upstairs, you can find the door to this place next to Bagel Express in Murray Hill. Who knew? It’s big and they do a good, thorough eyebrow threading, as well as have a rewards card. When I arrived just before 1pm, it was empty, but during my three minute experience there, a lot more people walked in because of the lunchtime rush.
The only reason why I gave it four stars is because my usual go-​to spot (which was too far for me to venture to because my lunch break was cut short and I was desperate) is only $ 5, so paying $ 8 didn’t thrill me too much, though that price is the norm.

I’ve been looking for a good eyebrow threading place, as the previous I went to is a bit out of the way now that I moved. I’ve been working in the area for the past year, and just recently found this wonderful salon! It’s a bit hidden, but has a big sign in the front by the stairs — you have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the salon. The atmosphere is good, there’s a row of chairs in the waiting area. I usually go there during my lunch hour at noon, so it tends to get packed; however, the ladies move everyone along quickly without rushing.
I’m very wary of who does my eyebrows — in the past, because of unskilled folks, there’s a distinctive gap between my 2 brows — more spacious than most people have. Because of this, I always tell the threader not to remove from this area, as I’m trying to grow it. These ladies always listen, thankfully, to my requests. Furthermore, in the past, most threaders do not bother to create symmetry with the 2 brows; one is always somewhat thinner/​longer than the other. These ladies always make sure that both brows are uniform.
This is now my go-​to place, and it’s not over the top pricey, thankfully!

Edit, ¹¹⁄₁₈ — These are better for an extended weekend. Otherwise they fall out pretty easily. I ended up removing them all.
I stopped in here on a whim because I wanted to get my eyelashes done. I came in to check out the place since it’s a block from my job. I was greeted by 2 warm and friendly women. I asked about their services. They had a special going on for $ 30 eye lash extensions. I thought that was a little too good to be true, but why not… Trevi next door was charging around $ 120 for a full set and they no longer have a technician. It wasn’t exactly the individual hairs — they’re bunched together and applied with the same dark glue as I’ve always seen. Within 15 minutes I had a full set at the desired length. Quick. The woman said if I had any come out, that for the first 2 days they will gladly fix no charge. Should last two weeks — we shall see! I would come back to try threading.

Apparently I just discovered them after working in the area for a few months. Clean place and friendly people. Loved my eyebrows after threading! Will be returning!

This place is great. Super close to my job, you have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the location.
Clean & professional. I showed Bani a photo of myself, how Id like to see the outcome, and she did a fabulous job.
My eyebrows were threaded once by someone who sucked and it really hurt! Bani did her job quick and semi painless. She used scissors to remove longer hairs and a nice gel to cool down my eyebrows!

Absolutely horrible. Will never ever return. Bought a groupon to save a little money and that was the biggest mistake. Another comment below described the service perfectly. Horrible Burns, questionable cleanliness and an open door policy when giving a Brazilian wax.

Inexpensive, but not as precise as the name would suggest. Whenever I cheat on my eyebrow girl I always regret it. This was one of those times.

I only getting threading done here. Results are hit-​or-​miss depending solely on who does your threading. Some are just amazing and do an excellent, beautiful job. Others are horrible — cut your skin, uneven threading, etc.
Wait is usually minimal — less than a minute and the girls are basically nice. It’s quiet and the girls are generally just focused on threading and not talking on phone, gossiping, etc. like lots of other places.
The prices are fair/​average for a basic threading place in the city.
Best advice is to find one or two girls who you really like and just stick with them — otherwise, you may end up with scabs on your eye area, lips, etc if getting threaded.

I had a great experience at Precise Brows. I had purchased a Groupon deal and I only needed to make an appointment a day or two in advance because they had openings. I came in early and they still took me before my appointment time. Bina (Beena) took care of me and she used Chocolate Wax for a Brazilian. She was gentle and got the job done and done really well. It didn’t hurt or burn or irritate me at all and was actually less painful than Honey Wax which I normally get this done with. She told me about the other services they offer and gave me a frequent customer card in case I want to use their facility again. I mostly likely will because they were great!

Inexpensive place. Gets the job done.
Two star down:
While you are laying on the chair, they consistently asks if you would get another service done with them. I have had both ladies. They both do it. Annoying.

This is by far the worst threading salon ever. They have NO TALENT. Threading is an art, and as far as I am concerned, you either are good or you’re not. This place is NOT. I bought a groupon and tried them out. First of all, they didn’t honor my groupon for the entire 6 sessions. I was able to get 3 and that was it … it’s as if I didn’t get a deal. Every time I went, I would leave with a feeling that «it’s not the best, but at least they didn’t chop off half my eyebrow» … the truth is my eyebrows kept getting thinner and thinner ever time I went. Today, I walked in with over 3 weeks of hair growth, thinking there is plenty here for them to work with here… asked her to clean it up, only. I walked out w/​terrible looking eyebrows, extremely thin on the ends and bushy towards the middle. I am DONE. I’d rather grow a uni-​brow then go back to this place.

Solid eyebrow threading place only, because the waxing room is a horror. At first I was excited to see they use chocolate wax, but that excitement was short-​lived after I noticed that not only is the room dirty (gunk on walls, clutter) but that they also double-​dip (unsanitary!). In fact, I suspect she used the wax stick on a client before me. I shudder at the thought. Thank god it was only my underarms and I walked away unscathed!

Got a groupon for a brazilian and I cannot beg people enough to never ever ever go here. Here’s why:
–BURNS — I HAVE BURNS and she didn’t even apologize or tell me how to care for them. She just kept on going like nothing happened!
–Not clean — questionable red liquid (blood!?) on the paper towels in the bathroom, pencil shavings in the sink that is clogged, big smelly mop and bucket in the bathroom that customers and employees share, baby powder all over the waxing table. I know they put a paper over it (like the doctor’s office) but jeez, you can’t wipe it down? I was the only customer in there and no one took the time to clean a little before I arrived?
–Not private — I asked if I should/​could close the door and her response was «not all the way». Really? For a brazilian wax? Maybe if you got air conditioning it wouldn’t be soooo hot and you could close the doors.
–Overall terrible job — She broke off a lot of the hairs very near the root so I had to pluck them individually with a tweezer OUCH!, she offered no after care instructions, and did I mention I HAVE BURNS!
Please please please don’t go here. Please I don’t know how they do eyebrows (or care, I use Himalayan Eyebrows and am very happy with them) but I wouldn’t go here for anything.

They do a great job at shaping, and amazing value — only $ 8.

Word to the wise: go on a Saturday and see Bina. Trust me. This place is super clean and one or the nicer places I’ve been to. It was not very busy today (saturday) and Bina was incredible. She won’t let you out of her chair until your eyebrows are the best they can be. Her almost surgical precision makes her a gem and from now on, she’s the only one who will be grooming my brows!

I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for 15+ years now and this place is awesome. I don’t make appointments and I’ve never really have to wait. I’ve had my eyebrows done by basically every lady in the place — all of them have done a great job.

There’s alot of options for threading in the city. Ranging from $ 4.00 in the more crowded streets of the Westside, to $ 10.00 in Midtown.
I am a regular and visit every 2 – 3 weeks.
Precise charges $ 8.00, which is fair for its location — corporate Midtown East, nearby Grand Central Station. It is absolutely, the cleanest spot I’ve seen to. They are extremely professional, and sanitary.
They don’t talk amongst themselves loudly in your face as you’re laying face up for all the spit to land in your eye. [And I dramatize this because I’ve been to several places, where the women are talking on their cellphones while doing your brows! Or worse, chewing on a piece of bread for lunch whilst holding the string in her mouth!]
They are gentle and polite. Friendly from what I have seen. They are very good about kindly asking you to have a seat and wait [though, there rarely is a wait.] and very good about keeping the order, in which the walk-​ins came. The place is very serene and quiet. Always smells very nice and fresh, and again — just a very well maintained, neat space with everything in its place.
They offer the standard visit-​card, 10 brow visit stamps, you get 1 free.
As far as the previous reviewer having posted about ‘missed’ hairs. I think it’s fair to say, no matter where you go to get threading, you check the mirror after they’re done — to see if everything is to your liking. I almost always ask for them to touch up something I point out. And they always do it gladly without taking offense or acting bothered. We’re talking about tiny microscopic hairs, hardly visible to the naked eye — and an art form that is still worked with human hands. I’m perfectly reasonable when it comes to them having missed one here and there. As long as they understand that it’s part of the service to complete the job for me — which in Precise’s case, they always do just fine.

I like this place. I recently moved out of Queens and my eyebrows have been suffering. I was pleased to find a place near my job and gave it a try.
They are really friendly, and made me feel comfortable. The threading was painless, and she did a really good job shaping them. Definitely will be back!
