I have never had a better experience of going to the dentist. He is a lovely man with a wealth of knowledge. Niki, his assistant, is charming and will put you at ease. With all this and the delightful Mary on the front desk your dental phobia, if you have one, will disappear.

Is Hugh Pollack the best dentist in Manhattan? YES. I had seen a dentist before him at one of those drive-through dental places where they have 10 dentists and they rush you through the whole process and are not very friendly. That guy told me I had 15 cavities! I had seven of them filled by him. I never went back and switched to Dr. Pollack. I expected him to tell me I had another 8 cavities, but he looked and said I didn’t have any at all. I probably got those 7 fillings for no reason at all besides making somebody money. I did have a very old filling fall out which Dr. Pollack was to replace. Because of medication I was on I was unable to use the typical anesthesia, and it was too painful to work with with the alternative anesthesias. Dr. Pollack talked several times with my doctor about what could be done to give me the regular anesthetic, and they worked out a plan. Because of the anxiety I was experiencing over the pain, Dr. Pollack also suggested I use nitrous oxide for the procedure. With that and the regular anesthetic, I felt nothing at all, and my anxiety was gone and my tooth was saved. He was so gentle and got things done very fast. Dr. Pollack is all about making the patient feel very comfortable and at ease. His assistant Niki is so supportive and sympathetic and a natural at her job. She anticipates every need. If you have any sort of dental anxiety or bad dental experiences in the past, this is the man you want to go to. I’m sorry if I seem like I’m raving, but after a lifetime of bad dental experiences, actually feeling good about your dentist is such a relief.
