Description

Specialties

It doesn’t get much better than a burger with a view.

And if you stop by P.J. Clarke’s on the Hudson one sunny afternoon you’ll find people spilling out into the waterfront dining area. But don’t worry if the weather doesn’t cooperate; you can always step inside for the classic P.J.‘s vibe, marble-topped raw bar, vintage appointments, wood paneling, and oversized mahogany bar.

Located in Manhattan’s financial district, P.J. Clarke’s serves the international business community in the World Financial Center. Sitting alongside the marina of the Hudson River, our views are simply unrivaled. Enjoy a classic P.J.‘s dish accompanied by views of the New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.

In addition to extensive outdoor seating, this is also the only P.J.‘s location in New York to feature a «to-go» counter. So even if you’re in a hurry, you won’t have to miss out on the best burgers in the city.

History

Established in 1884.

If you live in New York, P.J. Clarke’s needs no introduction. That’s because it’s not only one of the oldest bars in the city, it is also perhaps the most legendary. Decade after decade, through two World Wars, the Depression, Prohibition, and the city’s many ups and downs, P.J.‘s has soldiered on virtually unchanged. Not as a throwback, but as testament to the timeless values of friendly service, great atmosphere, a neighborhood vibe. And of course, the best burgers in the city.

This is the place where Jackie Kennedy brought John Jr. and Caroline for lunch on Saturdays. This is where Frank Sinatra ended his nights on the town and where Nat King Cole famously bit into a cheeseburger and declared it «The Cadillac of burgers,» establishing what would become P.J. Clarke’s signature dish.

Today you can experience P.J.‘s in six locations throughout New York and beyond. At each, you’ll find the same local flavor, classic vibe, masterful bartenders, and great food as the original.
