NYC Short Lease

We rented a one-​bedroom apartment with NYC Short Lease in late March-​April 2016. We worked with Kate and she was great — very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Communication with maintenance was efficient as they were quick to respond and take care of any issues. Our only complaint had to do with the furnishings in the apartment. Our apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the sofa and chairs were hard and not comfortable to sit on. That wouldn’t stop us from dealing with NYCSL again, though. From reservation to check-​in to check-​out, it was a pleasure. In case it matters to you, please note that it took a month to receive our security deposit back.

We recently rented from this company for a short term to recuperate from surgery at a NYC hospital. I can’t recommend highly enough how wonderful this group is. They were patient with me in my search for the right apartment to recuperate in. Once we moved in they were available so quickly and attended to any concerns. There apartments are so well fitted for all your needs in NYC. They even had an umbrella in the apartment for those rainy day. The use high quality items as comfy sheets. The apartments are decorated with warmth and we had to stay many hours in the apartment and found it very comfortable. My one hope is to rent from them again but this time to enjoy our stay in NYC.

We used their services at the last minute when another sublet fell through. They did expedite everything and got us a spot quickly. The building we were in (View 34 on 34^th & 1^st) was really nice with great amenities. When we arrived there were some issues with the housekeeping being incomplete from the prior tenant and we were initially worried that we’d made a bad decision. However, the short lease team responded that evening and sent someone to address it and called us to apologize, they then had a cleaning crew come out the next morning to fully address the concerns. We were short some towels and pillows they were provided promptly as well. The apartment we were in was nice and spacious. The only issue we had was the one room was depicted as being 2 twin or double beds and was not, so next time I’d ask for more details. My only suggestion would be for them to consider making it a bit more renter-​friendly. For example, there’s a tiny coffee maker but no coffee mugs. There is no info in the apartment about the building (i.e. laundry, gym) or the area (like you often get with AirBNB or VRBO with a guide to the neighborhood, recommendations, etc.). Simple little things that would make it seem more complete. It also just need a bit of paint touch-​ups and TLC to really shine. We would stay there again and were happy with their service.

They have great places and are very responsive! I would use them anytime.
