New york smile institute was established in 1991 as a full service specialty practice to serve the community, with excellent dental and oral health. It is a full service prosthodontic practice, with an in office laboratory, Cad/​Cam dental studio, and facility that is like no other in Manhattan. This state of the art facility is home to many celebrity patients, sports figures, Forbes top 100 companies, as well as the administrative asst. who wants simply «the best» dental care available. Business Owner

Dr Dean Vafiadis, is the leader in Cad/​Cam technology for dental restorations. He is the Program Director at NYUCD for the CE course on Full Mouth rehabilitation. He is an associate professor of Prosthodontics and has lectured in the US and abroad for over 17 years on topics such as, Aesthetic dentistry, Cad/​Cam technology, facial esthetics, and full mouth rehabilitation

Dr Dean and his team of talented/​caring people is unmatched. I have gone many places for cosmetic dental work and none of them come close to the results I got at The New York Smile Institute. I don’t even write Unilocal reviews but had to jump on my girlfriends Unilocal account to sing their praise. Seriously, I tell everyone I know that needs work to go here. It was such a relief when I saw the results of the bonding job they did on my two front teeth, they looked the best they ever had since I chipped em in half in grade school. I was so overwhelmed by their work and knowing I had finally found a place I can go to get seamless dental work done. Amazing, truly amazing. Go here!

The doctors here are amazing they really brightened my smile. For years I have been going to a few dentist but no one really understood my vision for what I wanted. Yes I had some challenges with my smile.
When I came to NY Smile and I met with Dr. Dean he listened to me, showed me what was possible and was really caring. Once I agreed to move forward with the care he was gentle and has wonderful hands. It wasn’t free of course but Dr. D is brilliant and created an amazing smile. The $$$ I paid was worth it. I did not like the parking situation but that’s the city for you. Where in NYC can you park lol My smile I love now so yes I use it more and that makes me happy :) I couldn’t be happier with my smile! Gracias!

Terrible. Overpriced, under delivered (understatement). I cringe every time I see my smile. When I asked Dr. Vafiadis to fix the job to make it right, he asked for more money on top of the ridiculous amount I already paid him (upfront). In the initial consultation and onwards, I was told over and over how happy I would be with my new teeth, that he was the expert and that, in any event, he guarantees his work for 5 years. Yet, nothing was done to rectify the unsatisfactory outcome except to ask for more money.
I should have stayed with my prior dentist who did an amazing job at a fraction of the price and stood behind his work! But I thought I was moving up to the Manhattan experts. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Time (months of visits), wear and tear on my health and a boatload of money down the drain. I honestly can’t express how upsetting this is and how embarrassed I am about the amount of money I paid. Also, very shocked that he wouldn’t want to do a good job. Not sure where to go from here. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!
