Nana Dry Cleaners & Custom Tailor

Doing laundry on a supposed vacation is never fun, but sometimes you get stuck in New York much longer than expected due to the unforeseen severity of a hurricane. When this happened to me and my fiancé (and many, many others, of course), we found Nana Cleaners just a couple doors down on our friend’s block. It was below ground level, down an easy set of stairs.
The place was clean and pretty inviting, and a lone Korean woman welcomed me with a smile. I dropped off our load of laundry, and she gave me a ticket, said it would be ready for pick-​up the next day. I somehow forgot to pick it up the next day even though I was doing nothing, a hundred feet away, but it was ready the day after when we finally went in. We got our clothes fluffed and folded, and they came out nice. Fluff and fold is always something of a luxury, and it wasn’t dirt cheap, but fair enough.
I don’t know how one differentiates between cleaners in New York, other than by noting, «This one is on my block, and that one is not.» That said, Nana gave us clean underwear where we might have had none, so I’m happy to recommend it.
