Eda Laundromat & Dry Cleaning

We love Eda Cleaning! We discovered them by happenstance through Unilocal and thought we’d try them out…$.99/lbs. is a pretty great price… and we have not been disappointed. Mr. Cho is friendly and personable and remembers who we are and where we live! We call to request a pickup and he is at our door usually within 15 – 20 minutes. They have the laundry done the very next day folded and smelling fresh. They are very flexible on getting laundry back at a time you desire, just be sure to call them and let them know you Are home and ready at the time you specified! We Love our neighborhood laundry service!

Moving to a new neighborhood is never easy, and just when I thought I’d finally got everything figured out, this laundry business is giving me such a headache!
I used to live in LES where every other shop on the street was a laundromat and I had mine done for 65cents per pound, the ladies were fast and efficient (Tin Tin’s on Allen if anyone is interested).
Eda offers the advantage of free pickup and delivery, and they are always prompt and available (hence saving this review from being a one star only!) but I’ve realised their prices are completely arbitrary! Even though I’ve spoken to the owner and it was supposed to be 99cents per pound, I have the feeling they just charge whatever they feel like on the day.
This morning I had a lighter-​than-​usual load for $ 18 (when my load from the previous week which included my bedding etc, and hence heavier by far) was only $ 13. When I called, the owner immediately apologized on the phone, mentioned something about «her» pricing it wrong and said «$ 15 ok ok?»
No it is no ok. I need a place I can trust, and not have to constantly figure out how much money I should have on me (apparently they offer credit card, but I wouldn’t trust my information with them when they are already charging whatever they want).
I will be looking for another place…

Thank you Mr Cho! We found EDA on google when trying to find a more reasonably priced wash’n’fold and dry cleaner. Previously we were paying $ 1.25 per lb for laundry and 3.50 per shirt for dry cleaning. It was about $ 70/​week which is crazy. So we found Mr Cho and he drove over within 10 mins of our call. There is a bit of a language barrier… we thought he was dumping the laundry in the car and bringing the hamper back, but he drove off with the hamper. But no problem b/​c the next day an employee dropped off the hamper full of freshly washed items. Picked up at 7pm and delivered before noon the next day. Instead of $ 68 dollars, we paid $ 36 (99 cents/​lb and $ 2 per shirt) and they didn’t lose anything! :)
I just called again and Mr Cho remembered us… names and apt number, haha. He is on his way, and we are very grateful!

It was the big snowstorm. My dog refused to go out for her late night walk.
I got out of the shower this morning to find she had relieved herself on my bed, wetting the duvet and the coverlet. As I have no other warm blankets, and my regular cleaner could not get them both washed same day, I turned to Eda’s.
She assured me it was no problem and promptly picked them up, but now I just arrived home at 8pm, it’s still freezing, and no duvet and coverlet. They are now closed, and I will have to freeze my behind off tonight with nothing but a sheet and a whole lot of sweaters and socks. Royally pissed. If you can’t do it, just say so, but to leave me in such a bad spot is just unprofessional and plain mean in this cold weather! Grade: F

Misrepresented that they’re open on Sundays. Overcharged. Dismal customer service. Funky smell on clothes.

DON’T USE THIS CLEANER.
Once they ruin your clothes (which happens often), consider your money is gone.

WOW!!! Same-​day laundry and dry cleaning service ON A SUNDAY!!! This must be what heaven is like!!!
I dropped off at 12:15pm and he had my laundry and dry cleaning ready by 3. What a miracle!!!

3:45pm on a Sunday afternoon and in need of overnight cry cleaning, I walked into Eda Laundromat hoping a miracle could be conducted.
Upon entering Eda, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Cho, the store’s owner. After a brief dialogue, it was discussed that a certain two piece suit could be dry cleaned overnight and be available for pick up at 6:00pm the next evening. The cost… A mere $ 12.00 for speedy and reliable service.
In addition to dry cleaning, Eda’s also does clothing alternations ranging from minor hemming of pants to shortening of sleeves.
Upon retrieving a certain 2 piece suit the next day, I was happy to find that the suit was amazingly well pressed and free of any wrinkle.
Kudos to speedy customer service. Having sought after 4 other dry cleaners, all of which was closed, I was lucky to find one that was open and was willing to cater to a quick turnover.
