We have always wanted to go to dinner theatre. Due to traffic we were running late. The seating is entirely too close. You are seated at a long table of 16 people. The Seating could have been 12 comfortably. I could hardly move my arms to eat. The food is nothing great, ziti and chicken parm. Drinks are extra. The actors are entertaining and the killer was very unexpected. The interaction with the audience is fun. If your not really expect ing a Broadway experience, than go. If you can’t appreciate just having silly fun, than stay away. Also not for kids at all.

Hey all! Check this show out… it is a riot! Such a fun cast! Tommy Bayiokos is a standout laugh a minute. Seen him around town with his Elvis impersonations, and his drumming! He was Laura Branigan’s drummer when she performed. Amazingly talented! Can’t wait to see what he does next.

My sides hurt the next day from laughing so hard. My wife and I and our friends loved our evening hanging with the Mob. It is a very interactive show and the acting is over the top but very funny. The actor who played the Detective was great at improv and really brought the audience into the show. We really had a great time and would recommend the show to anyone who loves mob movies and the genre in general. The whole cast is fun and we loved Johnny (the boss) and Cookie (his girlfriend). The food good and there are no options other than penne and Chicken Parm. There is a veggie or low carb option but you should order ahead. Wine, beer and drinks are extra. Parking is available in a garage directly across the street This is a really fun show and we loved it !!!

Need to revamp the audience participation part as to not include it. It’s expensive and so Not worth the money. Skip this show & Save your money. Food is horrible, too!!!

I enjoyed myself. The show was fantastic. The actors and actresses engaged with the people very good. It was interactive and a good plot. The food wasn’t great but it was let the worst either. I would recommend this to my friends in the future.

Once again, I read negative reviews about a place after I purchased tickets. I started wondering did I waste money? First of all I read the food sucked. But when I get there, the show takes place downstairs from the ARNO Restaurant. As I waited in line to go downstairs we are talking about how NICE the place was how packed it was! it was only 630pm. How can the food be so bad? The staff was very friendly on both floors. If your expecting a Les Miserables or Phantom of the Opera its not going to happen. This is more of a Stand up comic/​interactive show. So yes for those who complained the audience is constantly involved, thats part of the point and its FUNNY! Its setting is more of a family/​friends gathering you watch how it develops on the floor. LIke if youre at a wedding event. The actors walk around and interact with the guest. You sit on a table with about 8 – 12 ppl and if they are friendly it makes it more fun. The food was good!!! I could of used parmesean cheese for the pasta, and salt for the chip they put on the mash potato, but thats just me, loved the parm! The show stops for a bit to give you a chance to eat, the drinks: I had 2 cosmos and I felt them watered down thats about all I can say that was negative. The desert is coffee and cookies, «Italian cookies» which makes sense with the setting. The drink $ not out of the norm for NYC drinks. It was a little pricey but not as pricey as paying for a broadway show and then going out to dinner in NY. If you want a fun night out with some laughs, I would def recommend. If you can get coupons thats always a plus. Go with an open mind. Really feel that if you pick on negative stuff no matter where you go ull never enjoy any place you go… I would not reccomend taking kids, their jokes/​comments are not for kids (saw some kids), The actors improvised at times they can adjust to the audience, however the guest that are called up on the spot are not actors and they will say things that you may not want to have to explain on the way home. Happy I went!

Thoroughly enjoyed my evening at «Murdered by the Mob».
The actors were all energetic and the comedic moments left everyone in the room laughing all night.
It’s a great time if you are planning an event for a large party. Most of the ppl in attendance were part of a large group.
The food was not bad but also not great. But the theater is really the highlight of evening.
The ending was a little bit of a let down. But the journey was better than the destination.

My sister and I attended this show/​dinner. It was outstanding. We had a great time. The audiences involvement is hysterical. You don’t know what to expect. The dinner was good as well. I would go back for sure.

Disappointing. Expensive. Too much crowd interaction instead of professionals acting out the story. Drinks are very expensive. Bottle of Gnarley Head ($ 9.99) wine is $ 20. They start with a dried bread crust to share with 10 people literally 3″ x 2″ on a plate not warm. It felt like communion everybody take a crumb. Next was al dente vodka pasta with 10 shells in the bowl, no seasoning. Blah. After that they serve chicken parm and a plop of boxed mashed potato with a soggy waffle cut cardboard chip in it to be fancy however it was a mere imposter. Then at the end they bring a small plate of store bought cookies on a plate to pass. With all the inside joking with people from the audience trying to figure out what they’re supposed to say when they’re called up you lose the whole murder mystery and find yourself talking among yourselves. Too bad it could be so much better.

I had a great time. I came here with my husband and some friends on Valentine’s Day. It was a sold out show. The food was good and I really enjoyed the show. The actors did a great job. I really liked the cop character played by Tommy Bayiokos. I go out to dinner all the time and this was definitely something different. If you are looking for something different to do while having dinner then I definitely recommend coming here. I see a lot of people complaining about the price. I don’t think $ 90pp or 2 for $ 99 if you get a groupon deal is expensive. I don’t think that is expensive for dinner and entertainment in NYC, but that’s just me. Overall, if you are looking for a fun time and you haven’t been to a murder mystery before then you should definitely give this a try.

Have not been to a dinner theatre show in some time, but was really wowed. It was so nice to have a wonderful Italian style dinner to accompany the plot, — added realism to all and felt very involved in solving the case and the story line moved very well per cast and funny. We loved the food, dancing and really really just had a grand old time. Fantastic meeting the cast after and boy oh boy, some of the resumes on the cast was just stunning,…- from «The Sopranos», to hit movies and two cast members I have seen on the shows «The Americans» & «Blue Bloods» per my wife. Impressive! Murder, dinner and theatre show. Recommending highly!!!

Omg such an EXCELLENT show!!! A fully packed house on Valentine’s Day added to the interactive show where audience members participate and the actors ad lib PERFECTLY! The show was awesome, very funny in an Italian Mob kind of way! Food and service was great… staff handled the whole event seamlessly! Definitely worth the $ for dinner, dancing and comedy/​theatre! This was the second time I’ve seen the show and it gets better each time. Actors are seasoned professionals! Can’t say enough except GO SEE IT!

Considering theres only 2 options for murder mystery dinners in the city, this one had better reviews, so we went here. I bought the groupon deal which was $ 90 for a couple. Good thing I did bc the show isnt worth $ 90pp. And the crazy thing is they also hit you with a reservation fee of $ 15pp! What the heck is this for?
Anyway, the show started off good… but like other Unilocalers said, it got old fast. There was more silly audience participation than actual acting/​storyline. It got to the point where it was like «really your calling up ANOTHER audience member?!» But once it went back to the story line it was good. However, the ending was super annoying and you won’t guess it unless you have attended this before. It was so out of left field, it killed the murder mystery feel of it. They should really re-​do the storyline to cut back on audience participation and make a better ending. It has the potential.
The food was good, they supplied the table with bread, they could be a little more generous with the bread considering the tables seat alot of people. We then had penne alla vodka as an appetizer. This was about the amount that you would get at a wedding. Then we had chicken parm with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The chicken is a decent size, however if your used to large portions, you will be let down. Then dessert was coffee and bakery cookies/​biscuits.
It is what it is, if you go, go for the experience, that’s about it. Oh and only spend the groupon/​livingsocial price… dont pay full price!

Here’s why…
PRICING: Yes you get a decent deal via Living Social but when you call to reserve they smack ya with a $ 15.00 pp fee on top of your tickets. Not cool!
(they claim it’s for service fees and tipping). Other Unilocalers have mentioned this, and I’m not only one FYI.
FOOD: Basically they start you off with bread which I didn’t get chance to eat due to the 4 pieces they and it was gone before you know it, Appetizer, is pasta in marinara sauce, followed with Chicken Parm with a tiny scoop of mash with a potato chip on top, (kid you not)…
Was it bad tasting? no… but type of food you can get at a nice pizza shop for
¹⁄₃ of the price…
DRINKS: Are extra and way over priced!, $ 11 bucks for a wine, $ 7 for a 12oz beer. …enough said.
SERVICE: Just ok not great, not bad that’s all I can say about that.
ENTERTAINMENT: The writing is bad, the storyline is bad and overall this isn’t a murder mystery at all. Not a real «whodunit» Too much audience participation to fill gaps of weak show. Did i giggle a few times? yes… but can’t say this a show worthy of all the hype. This show is off Broadway and it should literally be that «OFF BROADWAY». It needs to go the way of the dinosaur. Like one reviewer stated here you actually do feel badly for the cast, they try but fail miserably. Wife and I were tempted to leave before show was over, which we never contemplated ever in all our years of attending shows in the city.
Overall conclusion: i can’t understand how people can give any favorable reviews on this, so think hard and do your homework and you decide if you want to spend your entertainment dollar on this show.

We had such an amazing time and I can only say wonderful things about the actors and the staff.
We celebrated my friend’s Birthday and he was in love with the show and the food. The entertainment captivates you and the food warms your soul, I can’t wait to take someone else to see «The New York Mob Show» to see their reaction to a fantastic evening!

It was a fun night. Definitely have to go with friends. It is inside the Arno Italian restaurant so the food was authentic and delicious. The cast was energetic and lively and afterwards they all stuck around to hang out with us and talk and take pics. Great time if you’re looking for something different.

Mediocre food with silly ending, absolutely no way you can guess who was the murderer unless you went before. If it’s discounted I guess its worth going just for the sake of it.

I agree with the other reviews that this is corny, but there’s good interaction with he audience and the jokes are witty and current. I would only go if you can get a coupon or a deal. Def do not pay full price for this. If you do get a coupon, you would need to pay $ 9 for service charge.
The food was parmesan chicken with pasta and cookies for dessert. You don’t have much of choice with the food.
The drinks are not included and are quite pricey.

We got a deal on Groupon & decided to go, since we always wanted to go to a murder mystery dinner. It was $ 99 per couple, with a 3 course meal included with the show. The show was fun, but more of a comedy than a mystery. The audience is a part of the show & you do get to be an alias for the night. The food was basic, nothing special: bruschetta, penne vodka and chicken parm. For dessert, there were a plate of cookies. The parking lot across the street gives you a discount, if you validate your ticket. Good for groups & no need to get too fancy, you’ll be sitting for most of the night. We did laugh a lot, but would have liked to seen more mystery.

This is really 1 ½ stars, but I didn’t feel *right* giving this outfit just **one** star. I mean, they did try. But for the life of me I don’t know how this gets such great turn out each week (I had to go on my third choice of a date because they were sold out whenever I tried to get a reservation any other time), or how I’m the only Unilocal Eliter who has reviewed this. Maybe **that** should have been my first clue: Elite Unilocalers know better to avoid this crap.
Picture it: a spring in New York City and a wife is walking with her husband in midtown Manhattan. She notices a sign for a Murder Mystery Dinner at a restaurant she’s passed several times. When she asks her husband if he’d like to check it out, he says NO WAY. So she asks some of her girlfriends to which they say YES! I guess they all figured, for $ 79/​pop, with dinner/​soft drinks/​coffee included (no dessert, WTF???), that you’re paying for entertainment.
Well lucky for us (it’s me, get over it), we found that Groupon and Living Social had regular specials — I stumbled upon a Living Social deal that was 2-​for-​1. My friend got one 2/​$ 99. We decided to go together.
The food was the best part. And that’s not saying much. Clearly, the penne al vodka (which was ZITI al vodka) was bought at Trader Joes. The chicken parm was decent too. But I dunno, I guess it’s hard to mess that up.
Here’s my question: No vegetarian options NOR anything for people with dietary restrictions like gluten/​wheat free. I’m not either but I do understand the intricacies with those restrictions. That said, with all the a) bruschetta b) focaccia and c) more bread brought to the table, you’re excluding a group that could otherwise spend money there.
Not that I’d tell my vegetarian friends and/​or celiac friends to go to this. It was a complete waste of money and the only reason why this isn’t ZERO stars is because I did go 2 for the price of 1. Next time, someone will have to pay me.
So remember that line about paying for the entertainment. Clearly, these actors are getting paid too MUCH. The actors were nice and funny in getting engaged with the audience beforehand and even during. There was NO plot. There was no rhyme or reason. Remember when we were kids, and we played the game Clue? This outfit should get one. Not the game — A CLUE! A live-​action Clue I thought would have been more fun. It was the furthest thing from it.
The story was haphazard. It was hard to follow. And they ask for live audience participation, meaning you have to guess who conspired in the deaths and were the killers. Fair enough but it’s tough to do that when you are not given a goddamn thing to go by. They bring up random people from the audience to participate but it turns out there are a few who are involved in the acting troupe anyway. You just don’t know who those folks are till they unveil the killer.
This was awful. Beyond awful. Acting was terrible, jokes outdated and cheesy. And what’s an Italian dinner without some kind of dessert, like Viennese table or cookies at least? I saw some people got some bakery cookies. We did not. Boo!
Lastly, take a cue from Golden Girls and the «Murder on the Orient Express» episode. Trust me, you’ll learn a lot more from those old bitties than you will at this thing. Oh, and furthermore, just make yourself some pasta and watch that old episode and stay at home. You’ll get more out of it.
Seriously, I would have been pissed off had I paid full price. Glad I didn’t. But I see why this thing gets so much hype. Bridge and tunnel people, baby! No offense to my friends who DID come in from Long Island to see it. But NEVER AGAIN. At least, my friends and I had fun… AFTERWARDS.
