Always prompt and always friendly. So convenient since I don’t live closeby to a pharmacy.

There are 10 pharmacies closer to my office. Gideon’s is reliable, friendly and impeccable fast service. Well worth the additional walk for always a great experience !

I use this pharmacy only because this is where my dermatologist sends my prescription (express scripts will not give this to me via mail order) and although it is inconvenient for me to get there they are very easy to deal with. I had an issue a few months back with my insurance and instead of having me sort it out myself the pharmacy handled it all for me and they were nice about it. Also, they kept calling me to give me updates and i was very happy with their customer service in that instance. I continue to use them for the same prescription and its always a pleasant experience.

I love this pharmacy! They specialize in dermatology products. I use it for all my dermatology needs. My dermatologist on Long Island recommended them even though I live 2 hours from NYC. My doctor sends them the scripts and they deliver them or ship them for free to Long Island within a day or two. Gideon’s Drugs has saved me so much money! If my prescription is not covered by my insurance they always do a prior authorization and negotiate with my insurance until it gets payed for!!! I don’t know of any other pharmacy that does that. I have never actually been to the pharmacy since I use their mail order/​delivery service but everyone I have spoken to on the phone has been very courteous and knowledgable. They always get back to me in a timely manner regarding coverage.

i recently visited a new dermatologist, and the office had send my prescription to this Pharmacy. At first I was skeptical, because I never used them before, but about an hour after I got home I received a phone call from them. The staff was very friendly and the pharmacist was very knowledgeable on the phone as well. The best part is they saved me over $ 300 on my acne cream and they were able to deliver to me that same day. I am very satisfied and would go back for all my dermatology products.

The two star review is only for their pharmacy. Gideon’s has a great selection of skincare, hair care, and nail care products that I usually come here for but I’m not a fan of their pharmacy at all!
My dermatologist recommended Gideon’s so I gave them a shot. To be fair, they filled my prescription within a day but when the lady called me and told me it was ready for pickup, she said the two acne lotions would set me back $ 250! She said that was the total after checking with my insurance so I politely told her that there was no way I’m spending that much on acne medication when I can buy non-​prescription ones at drugstores for $ 25. They call me back the next day to inform me that they were able to reduce my copay to a total of $ 40 down from $ 250 so I agree to pick it up after work. When I arrive at the pharmacy, my prescription was not ready for pickup AND one of the products was not in stock. They tried to make me pay for it even though it was on back order and it would be another month until it’s back in stock, so I cancelled the order because I’m not paying for something unless its in my possession. I called my dermatologist and told them to transfer my Rx to another pharmacy since I didn’t want to wait a month for the product to become available but my dermatologist checked with Gideon’s and it turned out that they did have the acne gel in stock! All in all, this was a frustrating experience and I don’t have patience or time to run back and fourth to pick up a Rx. Get your shit together, Gideon’s!

I’ve been a patient here since 2007 and used to recommend this pharmacy to all my friends and coworkers. Ari was amazing and there were never any problems and no waiting time. I really try to support independent pharmacies because they are more competent and personable than chains.
But now, please STAY AWAY because Ari no longer works there, and apparently neither does anything else in the pharmacy department. [Heck, even Duane Reade is better than these guys now. And that’s saying a LOT.] They are a low-​volume store (less than 200 Rx’s/day) and there are usually no other customers waiting in the phcy dept, so they can’t really use «Busy» as an excuse.
I am (obviously) an existing patient in their computer system which also is loaded with my straightforward private insurance and regular doctors. Here are examples from the past week that have made me furious:
1)Filling a new birth control prescription. This should take maybe 5 minutes max. (If Ari was doing it, it would take about 30 seconds to type a couple things in Opus and slap a label on the pack.) I dropped off my script at 11am and had to rush back to work. I call after lunch and they said they haven’t gotten to it yet (okay…maybe it was busy?) and it’ll be ready after work. I show up at 5:30 they say all they need to do is print a label. I stand around like an idiot for 10+ minutes and ask what’s going on. Oh, by the way, the pharmacist is at a meeting and is unavailable for an indefinite amount of time!
2)Filling a generic antibiotic Rx, 6 tabs. I would give this 10 minutes max in case someone is really slow at counting pills. Same story as above. I had to come back the next day.
3)My husband needed a powder prescription that you have to order because it’s not regularly stocked. Fine, so he drops off the script a couple days beforehand and they order it. They then proceed to charge $ 140 which is MORE THAN AWP and have the nerve to tell him «oh, well that’s just what your copay is». Being a guy, he doesn’t question them.
4)I call to yell at them and give them his insurance information again which was «mysteriously deleted» from the computer. We have the same insurance and it would have been pretty easy to just copy it from mine in the computer. Copay is now $ 50, which is significantly less than what they told him. He goes to get a price adjustment and has to wait 20 minutes and gives them the insurance card again. Everyone shrugs their shoulders and they said they have no record of my phone call from the morning.
I could go on. But instead I’m just warning anyone else and transferring pharmacies. The staff is terrible at communicating with each other. I feel bad for all the other customers they are taking advantage of who don’t know any better. Ari fangirls now have to go to Park Ave to find him.

My dermatologist sent my prescription here for a specific reason that I still don’t really understand but whatever. When they told me how much the co-​payment was, I called my doc to get the generic version. They put in for the prescription and Gideons immediately called to tell me about how sucky my insurance was. They helped me out with the discount and shipped it over night. I needed these meds because of how inflamed my skin got from using makeup products. Though it is not a more serious issue, I am BEYOND grateful and appreciative of what this pharmacy has done within a few days. I have actually reported the pharmacy by my apartment a couple of times. I am not one to write a complaint but that pharmacy pushed me over the edge. This is actually the first Unilocal review I’ve ever done. So thank you Gideons.

This is the best friendliest and sexiest pharmacy I’ve ever been to. They quote you the best competitive prices in all New York City, customer service was wonderful received my prescription in literally 3 minutes. The store manager Giddy is an amazing person he tries to accommodate you to the best of his ability. He is also very good-​looking. I was also very pleased with the pharmacist with her incredible suggestions and information. Also they carry top of the line hair products which was useful for my sleek hair as well.
Definitely will come back, matter of fact can’t wait for my next visit!

I had the worst experience here. I was recommended from my doctor. I was originally told the wait time was 5 – 10 minutes and waited over 40. They went back and forth whether or not they even has the correct size of the prescription. There was no waiting area.
Overall I will not be back.

I’ve always gone to the Duane Reade on Broadway, but a doctor sent my prescription directly to this pharmacy and it was so easy to pick up. At first, I was a bit confused walking in as all I saw was hair products. Stepped back out to make sure I was at Gideon’s then stepped back in, and found myself mesmerized by all the nail polish. Snapped out of it and walked to the back to the pharmacist and got my very inexpensive medicine from the very nice staff. Think I’ll be going here from now on!

This is literally the best drugstore I’ve ever found. The pharmacists are attentive, knowledgeable, and fast! I can always get through on the phone, and once in the store there is usually no line at all.
Gideon’s will even help you find the best option for your budget. Case in point: the pharmacy around the corner quoted me $ 1000 (!!) for two prescriptions, but Gideon’s got the price down to $ 130. This is why I’m always willing to walk twenty minutes to Gideon’s. I even try to purchase something else when I’m there, as I know the margins on prescription drugs are so slim.

The staff here was incredibly attentive and helpful. I also appreciate that they have the most extensive selection of hair and beauty products.

I don’t often write reviews, but this place is the best pharmacy experience I have ever had in my life. The pharmacist and staff are the nicest and HELPFUL I have ever seen. They even left my script with the front desk for me on the weekends when the pharmacy was closed in an emergency when I was leaving town. The selection of hair care products, nail polish, and voluspa candles is insane. So happy my office is across the street. I would have never found such a gem

The customer service is stellar. A pharmacist who actually leaves his post behind the counter and helps look for an item on the shelves? Unheard of!
Turns out they didnt have what I was looking for but gladly ordered it for me for the NEXT morning. Again, this kind of service is unheard of but gladly welcomed.

ONE STAR FOR THE STAFF. This has to do with the owner not returning my product.
I bought Aveda Rosemary Mint Conditioner and Aveda Shampure Conditioner. When i got home I noticed I had bought 2 conditioners. I wanted the Aveda Shampure Shampoo. The next day I went to exchange the conditioner for the right shampoo. This was less than 24 hours I had it. The owner said «No way he could return because it’s Aveda and they are too to strict»?? Ive been in retail my whole life =this is not right. Couldnt even exchange it. SO now I have 2 conditioners and no shampoo. Thanks Gideon’s for understanding. I bought all my hair care and facial products here. It used to always be nice experience. I would never step foot back in that store or ever send my customers there. I couldnt afford to buy more.

I get my prescriptions here and they are quick and relatively cheap. They often have my prescriptions in stock or it’s usually a 2 – 3 day wait.
They have a big selection of beauty care products — hair, nails, lotions, skin, etc. Good prices for hard-​to-​get products.

I found out about this place through someone on twitter who said she found Zoya nail polishes which is one of my favorites. This was months ago and I come back from time to time to check out what they have. Also, they have such a friendly staff who work there and that’s a plus!

One of the few places in the city where I can buy Zoya nail polish (which is toxin free, so I actively seek it out). Made my first visit a few days ago. The store is very well-​organized and everything is perfectly arranged. I selected my polish colors and also grabbed a ginormous bottle of Zoya polish remover. When I set everything on the counter to pay, the sales lady let me know that there was a smaller size of the polish remover and then went off to get it for me. I actually ended up buying the smaller size, so I appreciated how helpful she was.
I will definitely be back, even if it’s just for the nail polish.

Got my drugs quick and easy. Nice staff. Cool selection of nail polish and organic products.
But, mainly, the pharmacist behind the counter was très chaud. Whew… *fans self*
