Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage

Went with my friend expecting to lmao. But nodded off instead. Very disappointed. Also miss Abigail was supposed to be joyce dewitt or the old jan brady and she was a no name. Don’t waste your time on this one.

Probably the worst thing i have ever seen.
Made no sense, was not really giving advice. pretty much corny jokes, and lots of talking.
My friend got free tickets, if i actually paid 30 or 40 dollars for this i would be beyond furious. Plus I went in the summer when it was 95 degrees out and the AC was broken!!! Just horrible.
PS its underneath a restaurant — weird!

This was THE worst play I have ever seen in my life. Forced, corny acting. Thank god the tickets were free. If I had a knife, I would have committed Hari Kari.

HORRIBLE! If you get a free ticket, I suggest you burn it immediately. If you actually pay for tickets, you might as well jump off the ledge. The acting is over the top, the jokes are corny and it’s actually painful to be there. I tried really hard to think about who this might be geared toward and the only answer I can come up with is blind and deaf people. Miss Abigail didn’t really give any advice that might be helpful to anyone in the 21^st or 20^th or even 19^th century. She suggested that one showers daily and changes their underwear in order to attract a mate. How is this funny???

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Dont waste your time and money on this. The whole time there are two characters, century old woman and a Mexican guy. The show itself has no humor its the most corniest show I had ever seen. They need to update it because nobody is interested in advices on dating that are taking from books centuries old. Common, I felt ripped off. I came there with my BF to laugh and refer to present day not Past. Before it was different Miss Abigail. Its time for updating and adjusting to present time!!! EW

This show was just too gosh darn cute! I enjoyed it.
You WILL be asked to participate, in a variety of ways. After all, it’s supposed to be a seminar. Right? RIGHT. Get ready to make some friends.
The jokes were cheesy, but I think that’s the funny part. I don’t want to be forced to brave some advanced level of humor all the time. Sometimes, I do want a good, corny joke. The actors also have good chemistry.
I also liked the venue: it was small, and cozy.
Brotip: This show is NOT for the socially awkward, like myself. Paco asked me to dance. I do not dance in dresses that I feel are accidentally too short. On stage.

With free tickets, some girlfriends and I ventured to check out what Miss Abigail had to say.
There were definitely some funny moments, but I think this is a show that’s still trying to figure out what it wants to be. The relationship between Miss Abigail and Paco is random. It’s occasionally funny — Paco totally steals the show — but usually it seems forced and not amusing. I’m also not really in love with the commentary about Mexico and immigrants throughout the show. Lastly, Miss Abigail flubbed on some of her lines.
Let’s just say I would have been even grumpier if I had paid for the tickets. It’s only mildly amusing.

This show was cute, and really funny. We received our tickets as a promotional item, though I heard that the tickets were $ 20 — well worth the experience. If you want your friend to be onstage, put him or her close to the aisle and point them out when they ask for volunteers — we did that and our shy friend was selected to participate and it was sooo much fun to watch him on stage. The acting was really a lot of fun, Miss Abigail was Jan Brady (the middle Brady gal — not the mother as one of the other reviewers noted).
The venue was a bit challenging to find as the entrance is located in a hotel vestibule right West of Sophia’s. The space itself was warm, and I am one who’s usually cold. I did like that they had a cash bar within the venue.
Make a fun date night with friends or a love and prepare to laugh your pants off.

Dear Miss Abgail,
I’ve seen quite a few on and off-​broadway shows before and your show is definitely one not to be missed. Your show literally made me laugh so hard at times and ironically, I find your advice to be useful. Even though your show was only 90 minutes long and starred yourself (Eve Plumb) and Paco (Mauricio Perez) I actually found myself to be very entertained.
The best part about your comedy show is that you have live audience participation, which is something that I find lacking in major broadway shows. The audiences’ participation made your show even more engaging and entertaining.
Although your show is located below a restaurant and the exterior looked less appealing as other shows in Time Square, I would still highly recommend your play to all my «lonely and desperate» friends ;) Your show is witty, funny and best of all, the advice you and Paco gave are absolutely priceless.

Pssst: Quick question, shouldn’t Marriage go before Mating? Your title is confusing me a bit (heehee) ;)

My BF and I got tickets to this show for Christmas. We knew nothing about it nor heard of the show at all. Miss Abigail is played by Eve Plumb, played the mother on The Brady Bunch.
The show was located under Sofia’s Italian Restaurant on W46th Street. The theater is very small and intimate. If I had to use an adjective to describe the overall show, I would say hokey. I felt the jokes were slightly outdated. It was extremely corny, but it was cute and we made the best of it. Miss Abigail sounded like she was reading from a script. There wasn’t really much improv involved.
One great thing about the show is the amount of audience interaction. IN FACT, I got pulled on stage to participate in a demonstration with two other audience members. We were supposed to demonstrate flirting techniques. I won’t go into details to avoid giving anything away about the show. It was both hilarious and embarrassing at the same time! All the volunteers were good sports and the audience was really into it.
I highly recommend the show for older couples and groups of girlfriends. Yes, it has sexual references but nothing raunchy. Just a lot of cheesiness. It was a cute show.

This show was not that funny to me, but my husband laughed almost from start to finish. I guess it was his type of humor… innuendo? The acting could definitely have been better and more focused. Eve Plumb seemed under the weather. The audience interaction between both actors was very good and good impromptu. At one point, there was a stare down between Paco and an audience member who he thought was threatening his relationship with Miss A. I think all that drama was better than the script. The audience was very into it, you can tell most were type A. They also had volunteers get on the stage to demonstrate some flirting techniques which was pretty funny. Definitely unique parts that other shows don’t have.

This is an amazing and comic show about a love guru and her advice on love and relationships. I didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as the show started I couldn’t stop laughing until the end. Eve Plumb and Manuel Herrera do such a great job to keep you fully entertained as they give you the lessons on love. I would recommend this show to everyone.
