Established in 2003.

I have been a commercial photographer in New York’s photo district for over 25 years. After extensive training in digital imaging, friends & colleagues who were impressed with my ability to teach, encouraged me to start giving classes. For over 10 years, these classes have been overwhelmingly received from a variety of people ranging from beginner to advanced intermediate level.

If you are interested in really learning Photoshop, I look forward to seeing you in one of the upcoming sessions. Whether you need Photoshop for creating graphics in the work place or if you want to expand your photographic skills, this class will give you a solid foundation. Maria Ferrari has been a commercial still life photographer working in New York City’s photo district for the past 25 years. Her clients vary from advertising agencies to design firms, book publishers, pharmaceutical companies, major corporations, non-​profit organizations, consumer magazines and trade journals.

She is known for her attention to detail and for her relentless dedication to the craft of photography & lighting. Still life has always been her driving passion.

Maria also enjoys teaching. She has been helping others grasp the power & creativity of digital imaging through Photoshop. Her patience & ability to communicate & simplify the complex is remarkable. Her energy & enthusiasm becomes contagious for all things creative.

Maria is a truly force in Photoshop and could probably put most ‘experts’ to shame. For a beginner like myself however, this was a great opportunity to take advantage of her expertise by taking her Introduction to Photoshop class. Having just completed the class I feel like I now have the confidence and curiosity to really get started and try things on my own without the overwhelming feeling of fear and doom I had before. What I appreciated the most about Maria’s class is her enthusiasm to help you learn the correct processes and workflows related to Photoshop. Rather than a bunch of ‘tips and tricks’ on popular tools, I feel like I walked away with a solid foundation on which to build my own skills as well as a broader level of knowledge that I don’t think it could have received with any other teaching approach.

Maria is an amazing teacher with a true passion for what she does. She is so informative and helpful she is truly a photoshop expert. She is great at explaining all aspects of photoshop and takes the time to truly make sure you know what you are doing. I just finished the Photoshop class at Maria Ferrari Studio and I cannot recommend Maria enough. The class was so informative but not overwhelming and the reviews at the start of the class of the previous class helped nail in the information. I learned a lot and Maria really helped us understand what we’re doing and how it all works not just instructions on how to do things. The bigger picture of Photoshop helped me understand the concept behind all the different tools and the workflow broke it down for easier understanding. Hope to see some additional Photoshop classes available at the studio.

Maria’s class was amazing. I learned so much in only 4 classes. I took the class two months ago and it has helped me do my job more efficiently. She showed us lot of basics and shortcuts that save me so much time. She’s great at explaining all of the details of what you need to use and when to use it. I would recommend her class to anyone wanting to learn more about photoshop. Great for beginners and intermediate users.

I have gone to some Photoshop seminars, and even taken a class in the past, but I never felt proficient and was always confused while editing in Photoshop. Maria breaks down Photoshop into very easy to understand and easy to remember elements. She teaches a fantastic workflow that has vastly improved my ability to edit photos. I can’t believe how much instruction she packed into four sessions.
I am hoping she adds an advanced class in the future.

I’ve been a photographer for decades and the new technology is tough for me to understand. That’s why my experience at Maria’s Studio was so amazing. I needed to learn the real way to do Photoshop instead of the haphazard way I’ve been doing it. She laid it out step-​by-​step and made it so easy! I kept thinking… oh, THAT“S the way you do it! I highly recommend her 4-​class Photoshop course if you really want to do it right. Near subways (and good coffee). Evenings, so I could go leisurely. Maria’s a great teacher with a clear command of the information. She’s a terrific photographer in her own right and a consummate New Yorker!

I grew up playing around with Photoshop, and thought I was a more or less comfortable Photoshop user. However, after taking Marias class my learning has expanded tenfold.
She is a brilliant teacher who really cares about her students learning, and has a passion for passing on her wealth of knowledge to others. Because of this, her lesson plans ensure that the student will get the most comprehensive understanding of how Photoshop really works, aside from simply how to use it.
This type of knowledge is irreplaceable as most tutorials, books, seminars, etc. teach you many tools or tricks, without really showing how these things operate, interact, and what they mean.
By delving deeper in this way the knowledge gained from Maria’s class ensures the student will not only gain an understanding of Photoshop, but also the confidence and awareness needed to really use these tools, and explore others in the most efficient and productive ways.
If only all teachers could be like her! and with a price you can’t beat, this class cannot be missed — even for those who do not consider themselves beginners.

I am in marketing and use Photoshop almost every day for work, I used to struggle with everything, especially being an amateur photographer, I used to have a hard time keeping the integrity of my work intact.
Well, a friend recommended Maria Ferrari’s Photoshop class and wow– I learned so much in those few days. The best part is Maria is so knowledgeable (its kind of like she wrote the software) that she answered all of my questions and gave me quick tip cheat sheets that I keep handy. I am now the Photoshop «know-​it-​all» in my office and everyone is thinkin’ I’m an expert– loving it!
