I don’t know why i didn’t read all the bad reviews on the internet before i went to this place ! I got a kitten from them i was lucky i guess but the guys there were arrogant with bad attitude they didn’t even gave me details of the breed and age any way i paid for this kitten and left then i wanted another kitten to keep mine a company i looked online for breeders and stores with no luck so i went back to this store and the struggle began ! I got a kitten home and i couldn’t sleep that night she was sick vomiting and a discharge coming out of her eyes i was scared it will make my first kitten sick too so i took her in the morning to the vet and he gave her some medicines but he asked me to keep her away from the other kitten also her size was too small for her age ! They didn’t mention all this when i got her and all the kitten there were having a bad eyes. So i called the store they said they cant do any thing about it they said i signed a contract already ! So i contacted the owner who never answer my calls only texting her name is Debbie she was super nice before i paid ofcourse, i explained to her what happening she didn’t give a **** about her kitten health she was telling me no refund ! I told her you have to take the kitten shes sick i cant keep her so i sent it to her then i called again to send her medicines and the receipt for the shots i gave her at the vet it was 170 $ with no reply i texted and calls over 10 times she never answered then she called back saying she need a prove a record from a vet that the cat is un fit for purchase ! Then she told me you should keep her shes not dying ! In a very rude way i had to yell at her saying you really care for the money more than your pet ! So i got the record from the vet and i she ignored calls and text again for more than a month ! I went to my bank and i filed an investigation to get my money back it was almost 1900 $ so she texted me saying she refunded the money but she never did ! So i called my bank again and waited for another month !
They honestly should shut this place down for the sake of this poor animals and this owner should find her another business maybe selling wigs or something and learn how to run a business and be professional and honest.

I purchased a Ragdoll kitten from this place about a week ago (yes hello, it’s me). From the very first day I could tell this was a sick kitten. After that, it was nonstop vet visits and emergency center visits ($ 4000 + in total) When I purchased the kitten they told me he had just been checked by a vet and was perfectly healthy. I took him home and he was lethargic when awake, but slept for the majority of the day. I took him to my vet who diagnosed him with an upper respiratory infection (standard and expected when purchasing from a pet store) the URI very quickly progressed to pneumonia. The kitten became unable to retain any weight and with several mysterious levels in his blood work, the vets came to the consensus that there was a bigger problem than only the pneumonia. Getting to the bottom of that problem would have cost thousands more in vet bills, only to reach a diagnosis that, as the vet said, would only give us humans peace of mind. Any of the possible diagnosis would give the kitten only a few weeks or months at best.
When dealing with the owner throughout this whole nightmare, she was extraordinarily rude and defensive. Claiming to have some sort of medical background and trying to discredit the things that multiple doctors had told me. Yesterday I had to make the heartbreaking call to EUTHANIZE my 15 week old kitten. Anyone who’s ever loved and lost a pet knows how devastating of an experience it is to have to put down any animal, especially a baby that didn’t even get the chance to experience anything other than pain and suffering.
These people are liars and scam artists and should be put out of business! The conditions these poor animals must be kept in… not that the buyers would know, since the animals are conveniently kept out of sight and brought upstairs upon request.
Save yourself the heartbreak and do NOT help keep this awful place in business.

I have to be honost he did come home sick with an respitory infection. But the way that Manhattan puppies handle the situation was amazing! I love the staf they were nothing but AWESOME!!! Thank You Manhattan Puppies for Gizmo He is the love of my Families Life!!!

AWFUL PLACE!!!
1. place smells really bad, very dirty, and you can hear the puppies crying in the back. heartbreaking.
2. the employees are rude, not professional and generally seems like they don’t really want to be there or like animals.
3. i called twice to the store and there was no answer, but after a while i got a text message saying they couldn’t pick up and asking for my email to send me info. i gave them my email and explained i want to get a shih tzu puppy. i got an email back with 9 options, including the puppies pictures and names. the email stated that the puppies are ready to go home with their new family.
the email also stated that it’s better if i came to visit right away and choose my new puppy.
i got very excited. me and my boyfriend left work early and went to the store (not before i emailed back that i will be coming to the store in the evening to see those puppies).
when we got to the store, there were no shih tzus!!! not even one! and the guy working there (said his name was Ray) claimed they were all adopted!!! remind you — 3 hours before that, i got an email with 9 available puppies. how could they all be adopted in 3 hour???
obviously, it’s all a big joke. they just want you there, to take advantage of you and get a deposit on a dog you have never seen before.
treating dogs like a product, and people like walking wallets.
this place is a disgrace.
by the way. i have read the other reviews and the owners reply. very rude, very aggressive. and to me that’s one more proof this place should absolutely be avoided by anyone who loves animals.
i feel very sad for the puppies and kittens over there.

Recently we visited this pet store to purchase a kitten. We found a beautiful persian cat to which we ended up taking home. One day after keeping him in our home, we noticed that he isnt really making much movement and just sleeps all the time and doesnt wana eat or drink and had diarrhea. Loving the kitten already, we took him to the animal emergency room to which they treated him for the time being and the next day we took him to our vet. The kitten was diagnosed with phanloeukopenia which means he was lacking almost all of his white blood cells which kept him from fighting any bacteria or infection and after being 3 days in the hospital, the kitten ended up dying. As tragic as this was, we were promised a refund if anything like this were to happen. After calling multiple times, and being promised a refund for the kitten and all the medical bills within 14 days, its been a month and a week and were still waiting for the medical bills to be covered. I write multuple e-​mails and i get no responce from anyone nor does anyone pick up the phone at the store. The bills are close to $ 1,000, and noone is bothering to keep in touch with me. Very negative experiance at this place and would not recommend anyone to go here and experiance what we have experienced.

I purchased the kittens on Sunday November 15^th. I still have not received papers from the breeders as promised. If you’re going to pay $ 5,000 for two kittens, you’d at least expect to get their papers. They also ended up having ringworm, which my fiancé and I now have. We’ve been contacted by at least 5 other customers on Unilocal who have had similar experiences from this place. It’s been a nightmare.

This is one of those occasions where fate intervenes and prevents you from doing something you’d later regret.
I came across an adorable Havanese on their website and tried calling but, according to their message, there was no one available to answer as they were too busy during the holiday season. Fine. I emailed them asking for current pics of the dog and within a few minutes received an email with no content. I replied asking them to resend and again it came through with no content.
I then got a text from the owner telling me the dog was still available and I asked if I could put a deposit on it and hold it until later that day. They informed me they did not take deposits and that it was first come first serve. Fine. I sent a picture of the dog to verify we were talking about the same one and got no response. Then, over the course of the next few hours I sent several texts telling them I would be coming down to get it that night and to please confirm it’s the same dog and that it was still available. Nothing. Boy, this place must be jumpin’.
I figured I’d take a shot and drive in, anyway. When I got to the store, it was completely empty. Not a single person inside except the clueless-​looking guy behind the counter. I told him I was there for the Havanese and he said «Oh. It just left with someone else.» I told him I’d texted them three times in the past three hours asking if it was still there and no one responded. He said «You must’ve texted with the owner. She’s not here.» Suddenly, i began to feel as if the «bait and switch» thing was in full effect.
What kind of owner, who isn’t even at their store, leaves an outgoing message telling customers they’re too busy to answer when there’s no one in the store??? What pet store doesn’t have their own phone? And what are the odds the one dog I wanted, that I was told was there was picked up just minutes before I arrived?
When I texted the owner to inform her of this ridiculous experience, I miraculously received an immediate reply — which further led me to believe this was indeed a bait and switch. She’s too busy to respond with a simple «Yes» or «No» to 3 texts during the day asking if the dog was there, but suddenly has the time to respond to the one calling her business out for being unethical and bass ackwards?!
Just FYI, her response was that she was too busy trying to fill a million orders and simply didn’t have the manpower, which I obviously did not buy. Who doesn’t have a phone in their store? Who sends texts enticing you to come down, then disappears? Besides, if she’s that swamped, why not install a phone and let your employees talk to the customers? Strange concept, I know! But I think I know why she doesn’t want her employees answering the phone. The two guys I saw behind the counter looked like they’d be better suited running a chop shop than a pet store. Bet they couldn’t even get a job at Target.
It all made sense when I looked at the 9 out of 10 horrendous reviews and saw people from the neighborhood accusing this place of being a puppy mill.

P. S. the owner profusely defended her business and claims to be completely ethical, but, if that’s the case, how can you explain 9 out 10 reviews from different people, all of whom saying they had similarly awful experiences with your business? If it walks like a duck…

I admit very clean and tidy! (on the outside but who knows how the animals are living behind that wall) … So I bought a kitten, the next day she is sneezing, green mucus leaking from nose and teary eyes! I assumed she was Congested also because she would breath with her mouth slightly ajar. …That following week I went to the veterinarian «they work with» which is East Side Animal Hospital (they cover the first two visits, meds and everything) **coincidence?!** …After her first visit, she was diagnosed with Upper respiratory infection, ear leakage and mites and eye infection. With my fiancé and I careers, administering meds to a sick kitten on the clock timely is almost impossible with our work hours and my 6 year old niece is not capable of administering meds to a kitten So I abided by their «contract» and requested a return for the cat. The Vet at EastSide Animal Hospital wrote a letter stating I received her sick BUT Refused to write that «Kitten was unfit for sale». I looked to sue the business for the $ 1,800 we were over charged for But I felt bad for the innocent kitten because it’s not her fault, So I kept her and gave her to my mother!
…Business sells sick animal… at Purchase Sale, Business gives u Two free Vet Visits that also cover treatments at East Side Animal Hospital!, Vet gets paid for patients, The Business gets paid for Selling You your Dream Pet! ***coincidence!!!
…When you think about the innocent animal in the middle of this madness, you just give in and protect the life of the animal. Who Knows What Environment the Kitten Would have Been Returned Back to?!

Listen, I have been patiently waiting for Deborah or another manager to contact me about my CHI I bought from them on 4÷11÷2015. Yes, ’tis I. My Chi has me concerned with his motion sickness FROM DAY 1, coughing, hips loose (confirmed by vet whom I recorded recently), and other things Iike his aggressive behavior. If a family with children rescued him instead of me, he would have been in a shelter already. I look at all the comments about competitors and shake my head. I won’t say everything right now. I had better get a response to my emails before the 10^th or they’ll be very sorry. I believe the East Side Hospital is in cohoots with these people. If Dr. Manning puts some crap in my baby’s medical records again, I’m changing vets. Most likely this won’t be in the front. Then again, I’m the elite Unilocaler… Eh emm… My puppy’s mother and father obviously had health problems. My adorable puppy cannot even enjoy a car ride. I’m tired of buying Cerenia and forcing it down his throat. If you buy from these people, good luck. Hard head makes a soft… bottom. Next stop, RIPOFF REPORT. Anyone want to band together for class action suit, contact me. I am a REAL CUSTOMER who paid over $ 2K for what is considered a LEMON. TWO stars ONLY because I’m happy they had my baby so I could rescue him. No, ONE star for my chi. Hopefully he lives many years. I also have videos and photos for anyone wanting to see him coughing, breathing with noise one month after purchase, sitting down (legs awkward) because of HIP DYSPLASIA (in my opinion) but vet said loose joints… MP&K can contact me directly by phone and/​or email. First let me say I looove my cat. She is adorable and has a great personality. Totally friendly and playful, good with other cats, litter boxed trained. When they say they’re cats have been socialized they mean it! Did I mention she’s adorable? I do however have some complaints.
1) I gave a very specific budget yet he waited until I was holding her in my arms before telling me she was $ 600 out of my budget. All I could do was say, «…but I love her now» and pony up the cash.
2) When I came to pick her up he did not have the paper work ready despite ensuring me he would. Took like a ½ hour and he even made mistakes like marking the box that said dog instead of cat.
3) My adorable little cat is pure fur and bone. I could count the ribs on her despite the fluffy Persian coat. Makes me wonder if about their feeding methods. Also she seemed really resistant to the vitamins she has supposedly been taking her whole life.
4) Her first day home I decided to conduct our first brushing session. I found one outrageously huge knot by her ear. It was so immense I wasn’t sure if it was fur or flesh.
5) Even though we had been in contact for 2 weeks via e-​mail and I even came into the store on three separate occasions he waited until the pick-​up date to tell me I HAD to buy food from them. I kind of felt like he was trying to squeeze more money out of me. I was already paying $ 600 out of budget and did not want to pay a penny more. I looked over the contract and saw nothing that said I was obligated to buy cat food from him so I simply refused. He tried to scare me saying the cat could die if I didn’t buy it and she could only eat this special godsend food that they provided. It was frigg’n IAMS. I already have IAMS kitten food at home. That’s what he was making a fuss about? Gosh! The arguing took about another ½ hour. But I should mention that at the end they gave me the food for free. So that was really nice.
Also they trimmed her claws beforehand, so that was also nice. Oh! And I almost forgot that they put this cute little rainbow scarf on her as a bonus. I would recommend the place, but be warned that this is a business and the people there are salesmen so you have to be appropriately cautious and demanding.

My wife and I purchased 2 adorable Bengal kittens 3 months ago. The kittens are now beloved members of our family, and I’m very pleased to give this shop a 5-​star rating based on our great experiences.
I’m baffled by a couple of 1-​star reviews I see… but a couple of these don’t even seem to be written by customers. As a REAL CUSTOMER, I am going to take a few minutes to share my great experiences with you:
First off, there is a large, clean, and beautiful ‘play’ area where you can visit with kittens (or puppies) in private partitions for as long as you want.
This was essential for us because we wanted kittens who were super-​friendly to us and ALSO got along really well with each other. (Many cats do not.)
My wife and /​or I visited the shop at least 6 times, for 1 or 2 hours at a time, playing with many different combinations of cats until we found the perfect pair for us. And, having lived with them for 3 months, I can report that they are inseparable and play together non-​stop, which is a total joy for us.
Second, the shop has a LOT of beautiful pets to choose from. This was great for us because I’m allergic to some cats but not others. I had the opportunity to spend time with many different kitties until I was certain that I was not allergic to the 2 we liked best.
Third, the staff is super nice. And it’s clear that they love animals. What else can I say on the topic — this is important.
Fourth, the owner takes customer service and the health of her animals very seriously. We did have a couple of minor health issues with the cats, which required some trips to the vet before they were completely cleared up. (BTW — our vet explained that minor infections are extremely common with kitties that come from ANY breeder or pet store.) When I sent an email to the shop letting them know what happened, the owner responded quickly, apologized for our inconvenience, and promptly reimbursed us for all vet and pharmacy expenses.
That is what I call GREAT customer service!
(Thanks again, Deborah. As a business owner myself for the past 25 years, I believe that great customer service is the single most important factor in ensuring long term success.)

Please DO NOT come here to purchase a puppy or kitten. I know for a fact that these animals DO come from puppy mills. They rip people off and lie to their face about the condition of these animals. The puppies ARE in cages, how else are they going to keep them. Cant say much about the grooming now but I know Malika was great with her work if she is still there. Debbie is terrible. Do not listen to anything she tells you. These people tell you to call them if anything happens yet when you do call them they are mysteriously unavailable or they just never get back to you. They are nice to you until they take your money After that they just don’t care. I guess its too much work for them to actually care. Or they just don’t wanna expose that they are in the wrong. I thought it would be great to work at this place. Management and the conditions of these animals made me walk away. What ever response I get, if I do get one, it wont change the way I look and feel about this place, since I know it’s a lie. I pray that the animals get freed from this Hell.

Unbelievably this store is just across the street from another puppy mill purveyor that we drove out of business in six months a couple of years ago. Maybe it’s the same ownership using a different name. They definitely own «Westchester Puppies and Kittens» which rates 1.5 stars on Unilocal.They’re smart enough not to put the puppies in the window. I walked right by it and thought it was just another high priced grooming salon.
Please take this on board: no legitimate breeder will give puppies to a pet store of any kind. Puppies need to be with their mothers until 8 weeks of age and then the best time for them to become socialized is between 8 and 12 weeks. Even if these dogs weren’t taken from their mother until 8 weeks they cannot possibly be socialized correctly. And that’s ignoring the fact that these pups are probably the inbred offspring of poorly treated parents. There is no money in breeding dogs correctly for profit. If money is being made, corners are being cut.
You have been warned: these dogs are from puppy mills. The odds of them growing into healthy well-​adjusted adults are greatly against you. If you must adopt a purebred dog drive up to Westchester or out to NJ or CT and get your puppy from a real breeder, who will happily show you the little one’s parents and the results of expensive testing for genetic illnesses that even the high price you’ll pay barely begins to cover. Even then there’s every chance in the world the dog will have genetic health problems but hey, you pays your money and you takes your chances.
And if you believe this I’ve got a bridge to sell you. From their website:
”.. . when you take home your puppy or kitten there will be very little work to be done. In fact, we guarantee that your puppy will be 90% trained by the time you take him or her home.” Because everyone knows a puppy isn’t any more «work» than a parakeet or a house plant.
Apparently the Better Business Bureau agrees. From their website (
): «On October 09, 2013, the Better Business Bureau raised concerns about this firm’s advertisement on
and requested that this firm substantiate their claims regarding the following: ‘We ensure that your puppy has been introduced to training and they will be 90% trained when you bring the home.’ The BBB is currently awaiting a response. As of November 12, 2013, the business has responded to the BBB and discontinued the aforementioned claim.» Or not.
Mark my words, they’ll be out of business at this location in less than a year.

My mother and I recently got our very loving puppy from here. We fell in love with our new puppy and the place and staff were very clean and informative. Normally I would not choose to «buy» a puppy but we made an exception this time. We were told the puppy was healthy. We expected a few problems but we did NOT expect thousands of dollars in vet bills. Not only was our sweet pup not healthy but he came to us very sick. We were forced to quarantine him and our other dog who also got very ill. While we love our puppy we did not appreciate being lied to. It pains me to leave a bad review but we have suffered because of this. I expected more from a place as nice as this but it now seems to be more like a glorified puppy mill. The puppies and kittens are kept in tiny cages with sharp bottoms to them. Our own puppy had ripped up paws from this as well. Be very careful if you get an animal from here… then again you may be rescuing them.
