Welcome to Manhattan Grand Optical, where we help you LOOK GOOD and SEE WELL.

We offer worry-​free warranties on frames, lenses, sunglasses, and contact lenses.

Spectacles and sunglasses:

For twelve months from the date of purchase, should there be any manufacturers’ defects, we will definitely repair or replace the frames or lenses (except damages arising from accidents or misuse). Cleanings and adjustments always free of charge. We concern ourselves only with providing you the best in patient care, relationships and friendly service. Sure, we participate in most of the large managed care plans, but that’s not the primary focus of our practice. The care that we give to our patients is what matters most.

The best optometrist and optician I’ve ever been to in many decades of wearing glasses.
Dr. Chin examined my eyes in 2013 and again this year. Both times I was so impressed with her knowledge and care, and how thorough she is with all the details. She clearly wants you to be able to see well!
This year, I wanted several pairs of glasses for different purposes, and Dr. Chin patiently found the right prescription for each, in a single exam. I got replacement lenses for two old frames for an extremely reasonable price. Then I went back and got a new pair for computer use, choosing a beautiful purple frame from from the store’s own line. (Check them out.) Cost: about $ 200 for brand-​new bifocals.
My exam with Dr. Chin also provided me with a new contact lens prescription. When I decided that the lenses I was trying out weren’t right, the store did not balk at replacing them. (You must do this within 90 days.)
All the staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. And they’re open every day.
All in all, for the price of about one pair of high-​end frames in NYC, I got a thorough exam, two new sets of replacement lenses, a new pair of bifocals, and six months worth of contacts. Even on my tight budget, I now have the right glasses for reading, for computer, for distance. Just Awesome.

Everyone’s super nice and helpful here! I got a contact exam and it was fast and efficient, dr. chin was really nice and so were the employees. Annie let me try on quite a few frames, and they were not too pushy or anything. This place is great!

Went with my brother to get new glasses. He got an eye exam, fitting, and new glasses all within two hours! Most importantly, the customer service was out of this world. Every single employee was incredible. So friendly and knowledgeable – can’t wait to come back next week for my own appointment!!!

I LOVE this place. The optometrist is extremely knowledgable. I came in with a bad prescription and she updated it with a different brand of contact lenses that were much better suited for me. She had some really good advice for keeping lenses clean and moist with special consideration for my dry eyes. All of the staff is extremely personable and you really can’t beat the prices. I can’t say enough good things about this place!

Got new lenses, for my old frames done here a few weeks back and was simply amazed with the service I received. The staff are extremely professional, kind, knowledgable and helpful. They actually gave me back my old lenses and also threw in a free bottle of high-​end lens cleaner with the matching cleaning cloth. The prices are fair depending on what your getting done. Best Optical Spot I’ve been to in NYC!!!

This place is LEGIT! The very bad stereotype of china town stores is that you are taking a huge risk with your watch and glasses repair. That is not the case here. Everyone is friendly, professional, kind– and the atmosphere is very relaxed. They replaced my lenses — installed them for free when I explained how much I struggled to do it myself at home. To top it off, they sent me home with my perfectly fixed raybans in just 30 minutes, and gave me a 15% off coupon to come back. You’ve made a life long customer out of me! Thank you

I was just walking by in Chinatown and made a spontaneous decision to go into this Optical store to window shop for glasses because of their wide variety. I didn’t expect to make a purchase but I ended up doing so. They accept my Vision insurance Eyemed so that was a huge push in the right direction. Both the sale associate, Wendy, and the optometrist were extremely nice, professional, patient and attentive. I was grateful for Wendy’s help especially since they were shorthanded that day. I had the female optometrist and she was wonderful. She examined my eyes and told me I had astigmatism and my previous optometrist never mentioned anything about that. Once she gave me the corrected lenses, I was able to see better without any blurred vision. I was in and out of the store in 2 hours mainly because I was deciding between two frames. Ultimately I opted to purchase frames and contact lenses. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

I was quite unhappy with the prescription glasses that I bought from my local optical store (in California). My glasses were fairly heavy, even though they used high-​index lenses. But the biggest problem was the prescription, and the way that it was realized as a progressive lens. It was very hard to find the «sweet spot» of the lenses for reading. I used all of my insurance allowance, so I returned to price out a new pair for paying out of pocket. The total cost would be over $ 1,000.
I had to visit NY to take care of family matters, so I trolled Unilocal to find a highly rated, fast and cost effective place to buy a new pair. Manhattan Grand seemed to fit the bill.
I was not disappointed. It was easy to make an appointment with their optometrist at a time convenient for me. The doctor did a thorough exam, and even gave me a trial pair with which to test both the distance and reading prescriptions. Filling the prescription with high-​index, progressive, transition lenses was easy, with help from their competent staff. To my very pleasant surprise, the glasses were done in about 3 days. They fit and work beautifully. The price was extremely reasonable — about ½ the cost from my usual optical store.
The overall experience was excellent from start to finish.

I’m so excited that I discovered this place. I walked in on a rainy Saturday and asked if they could fix a pair of sunglasses for me. The atmosphere of the place was so friendly and immediately I felt cheered up from the miserably dreary day. Albert helped me fix my sunglasses right away, while Paul kindly looked up my vision plan to see if I was covered.
I’ll be back to get my eyeglasses!

This place is a fantastic shop. I have gone in for eyeglass lens replacement several times, and they always do the swap in no time. Sometimes in as little as 5 minutes. Occasionally I need a little screw or nose pad or something like that and they make the adjustment gratis. The customer service is really superb and everyone has always been friendly to me.

I had a great overall experience at manhattan grand optical. I was able to get an appointment on short notice, and the doctor was very knowledgeable and kind. The sales lady was extremely patient and helpful as I chose frames. Glasses are a big purchase and her helpful feedback was so useful!
My order arrived only two days later, and the specs fit perfectly. Prices were reasonable ($ 115 for an exam, with a portion of that cost going towards contact lenses, frames for $ 160, and lenses for $ 300 bc of my strong prescription) I would highly recommend this business and will definitely be back!

I went with my boyfriend to this eyeglass store– he was getting his eyes checked. He said the doctor was very competent and actually told him the last doctor he went to gave me the wrong contacts. Before going there he couldn’t wear contacts in his right eye without constantly tearing and his eye getting VERY read and irritated. Once this dr gave me new ones he had NONE of those issues.
I know all this is hearsay but he is extremely picky and I saw him very pleased with this place. I myself looked around and tried on glasses. The ladies there were happy to let me try on stuff and did not make me feel pressured or like I was being a bother. I have an very very high prescription with a very bad astigmatism (+/​-​6). The lenses there would be around 160. this is compared to other places that all quoted me upwards of $ 300.
I am going there next time to get my new glasses, seems like a good fair place!
