Parada obrigatória em NY! Quem nunca ouviu falar no famoso cupcake da Magnolia? Eu não sou uma cupcake lover portanto quando vou no magnolia meu objetivo é outros rs… A melhor coisa que essa bakery serve é o banana pudding! É uma delicia, simplesmente a sobremesa dos deuses! Também adoro o bolo de red velvet e de chocolate! Recomendo experimentar as tortas e os cheesecakes! Tipo não entre apenas pelo cupcake ok? Pois o Magnolia tem tantas coisas mais gostosas que um simples cupcake!

I’ve been to the one near Times Square and it’s all the same. The desserts are really good! I still favor their banana pudding over everything else and I can never get enough of it. It’s a good price still so to save money I just get the Large one for $ 6.50. This location is good because it actually has seats where you can just sit down and enjoy your dessert compared to the other one I went to. Million thumbs up to this place!

Took my one year old for her first magnolia bakery cupcake. We ordered two minis for her, banana for my husband and vanilla for me.
The icing on all of them was really good and the taste of the cake was good however it was stale in all of them.
Would have expected it to be more moist as it tasted a bit stale. Very disappointing given all the hype.
Overall décor is cute and there is plenty of seating

Day after the big blizzard of 2016. Had to go into the city to drop my son off who was returning to college. I’ve been wanting to try magnolias bakery for some time it was so worth the wait‼‼‼‼ we tried the carrot cake delicious. One vanilla Bean cupcake one of the velvet cupcake the red velvet was not one of the best red velvets I’ve ever tasted because it’s taste too much like chocolate. That’s my red velvet pet peeve red velvet should taste like heaven. And chocolate cake chocolate cake. However they made up for it with via banana OMG Pudding!!! It was the best banana pudding I have ever tasted so creamy and lights and sweet but not too sweet fluffy it was as fluffy as the snow that surrounded the door. Once I indulge in the first few bites I turned right back around and bought another. The pecan cheesecake was also very decadent and delicious. Looking forward to returning to my new all-​time favorite banana pudding spot. The service was also excellent everyone so welcoming and polite.

All I can say is that the banana pudding itself earned the five stars from me. I find myself dreaming about it and craving it and I won’t be happy until I get my fix. I should probably try more from here but til then the banana pudding has my heart

I love Magnolia Bakery! My girlfriend loves the cupcakes and obviously the banana pudding is my favorite. But one tip I have to leave for customers is BE CAREFUL when you pay for your items.
I waited on the line because I got 3 cupcakes. I watched the cashier ring up the customer ahead of me, and on the digital screen price part of the register that shows you the amount, the cashier rung the lady up for candles for $ 1.00 and I was like wow! That lady didn’t buy candles. I was up next and I watched the price screen and I saw I was charged for a candle for 50 cents. I didn’t request a candle! So, I asked the cashier, «Why did you charge me for a candle?». She played dumb and responded, «Huh! You want a candle?». Then she reached around the register into the candle bin and tried to hand it to me. I told her, «No. Why did you charge me 50 cents for a candle?» Then I asked to see the receipt and she said she threw out the receipt. Then I requested a receipt again. She turned around and called a fellow employee that was behind her counting the tips from the tip jar that they have. The employee asked me what’s the problem and I told her that the cashier charged me 50 cents for a candle I didn’t ask for. Then the employee went back to the tips that she was counting and handed me 2 quarters and said, «Have a good day!»
I would love to come back, but not after this.

Retour chez mon amie Magnolia Bakery dans le charmant Greenwich Village et cette fois ci on voit les choses en grand.
La réputation de l’enseigne et de celle ci est du à la série «Sex & The City», que je suivais de temps à temps. Là où son héroïné, Carrie Bradshaw vient se régaler, j’en ai fait de même. L’exquis cupcake vanille est en rupture de stock à mon arrivée, qu’importe ça donne l’opportunité de goûter un autre parfum, potiron pour l’occasion.
J’ai retrouvé les mêmes sensations de volupté précédemment observé, oh ravissement de voir que rien n’a changé. Le Banana Pudding m’était promis lui aussi. Restons raisonnable, version petite taille pour se lancer, 3,50 $ c’est donné pour un tel plaisir gustatif.
Excepté qu’on né puisse pas s’y installer mais en soi c’est le lot de nombreuses adresses de ce type, le personnel est accueillant, l’intérieur tout mignon, je suis pleinement conquis.

Every time I go in, I am overwhelmed by the sense of chaos and confusion and Zero communication by all of the employees. They are just standing around not providing any customer service and not communicating with each other. It has discouraged me from wanting to purchase anything from this store. The last time I tried going in to buy something, I walked out in disgust. It’s not like I go in when it’s super busy so I do not understand why the employees do not seem to be of any help.
This just happened today when I was trying to purchase some items. Again it was not busy in the store. When I placed my order there was no other customer behind me, so I was optimistic it would be a smooth visit. Of course you can barely see some of the employees over the counter bc the counters are high and the tops are surrounded by various food items on display.
One lady finally helps me and I’m asked to move along the line to order another item I’ve requested. The second employee helping is no help what so ever and gives me a attitude. She ends up giving me the wrong item and we realize this bc the first lady who helped me gives me another bag. She realizes her error and at this point I am aggravated and annoyed that I’d rather leave then pay for this horrible customer service.
I am sorry I will never be a customer in this location again. I’d rather spend my money and go to another bakery that offers better customer service and nicer employees who do not just stand around and do nothing and do not communicate with each other. I’m also glad I decided not to host my sister’s bridal shower here not after the horrible experiences.

We stopped in here one night after dinner for their famous bread pudding. It was okay, but didn’t knock my socks off. They were giving away samples of something with walnuts, I believe, and it had bits of the shell in it, so needless to say I didn’t eat anymore of it and didn’t want to eat anything else there.

Came here to see what all of the hype was about. Everything they’ve said about the «World Famous» Banana Pudding? IT’S ALL TRUE! It is absolutely amazing! Plus side of this location is that it wasn’t super busy either!

Purchased cupcakes for a friend’s birthday, along with their famous banana pudding. What a letdown. First of all, when I arrived at 11am on a Wednesday, more than half of the flavors were unavailable. What a bummer!
The cupcakes were unacceptably dry and crumbly; they fell apart as soon as the wrappers were peeled off. If one or two were crumbly i’d chalk it up to a bad batch, but all 6 (mostly different flavors) had that texture, so I’m guessing they don’t have a quality control aspect to their bakeries. The frosting was gritty and since it was so sweet we couldn’t taste any of the flavor profiles (vanilla, etc.) in it. Just pure, unadulterated sugar. Six cupcakes were about $ 30, which was absolutely not worth it.
The banana pudding had a decent texture, but the obviously fake banana extract/​flavoring really ruined it for me. I know there were pieces of bananas in it, but the rest of it tasted like banana candy. You know those little ones that look like bananas? That’s the «banana flavor» the pudding contains, which made it seem much less homemade for me.

Cupcakes and birthday cake are great but I just had their Banana Pudding and I think it may have been one of the best banana puddings I have ever tasted. The cream was perfect not to sweet light and rich at the same time if that makes since. It was great I went to take a picture but it was all gone. My family and friends loved it too!

The checkout system here is really inefficient. The cupcakes are all the way to the left, cookies and bars are in the middle and the resister is all the way to the right. The line begins at the left end. If you want a cookie you have to wait in line next to the cupcakes until you reach the cookies. If I chose cupcakes and the person in front of me was getting cookies I’d have to wait for the person in front to look at the cookies and make his/​her selections even though I’m ready to checkout.
— Chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting: The frosting is light and not overly sweet. The cupcake itself doesn’t taste very chocolate-​y and isn’t super moist. It’s also small compared to Sprinkles (LA).
— Carrot cake: This is one of the blandest carrot cakes I’ve ever eaten. I prefer carrot cakes to be really chunky packed with lots of nuts, carrots and raisins. This cakes was really light on the chunky substance and hardly has any carrots – it’s barely a carrot cake. The cream cheese frosting is nicely tart and the sweetness is perfect but I don’t buy cake for the frosting.
— Pumpkin pecan bar: In theory this should taste good but I didn’t like it. They went overboard with the nutmeg/​cinnamon and it overpowers the pumpkin flavor.

For the amount of publicity and name recognition this bakery has, I was expecting far better quality than what I experienced. The icing was subpar, and the cake wasn’t even moist. Good flavor was hardly even detectable. Next time, I’ll go to Wal-​Mart and save $ 6.
That doesn’t even mention the non-​existent customer service. Rude staff tried to control the crowd and line control. I understand controlling chaos in retail, but a smile on your face and a genuine good attitude go very far.
Bottom line, this place needs a better product, and better attitudes.

Looking for moist cupcakes? This is definitely not the place. Finally after years of hearing about their banana pudding, I walked in (no line) and picked up a pint to share with my friends who were visiting from California. Several cookies, and no cupcakes in tow the Banana pudding, and the cookies were a hit.
When I tried the cupcakes at this bakery I was far from impressed. The frosting was too sweet, and the cupcakes were dry. If you want to sample the legendary pudding this is a not the original place but it tastes exactly the same. If you continue walking up Columbus avenue towards the Natural History Museum you will find Shake Shack on the same side of the street.

Where do I even start. There’s no rhyme or reason to the line system. It’s just sort of a free for all. The employees behind the counter don’t do anything to address that. Most of them don’t even know what’s going on around them. Their hot chocolate is basically just syrup and hot milk, nothing I can’t do at home on my own. Plastic knives (crucial for sharing cupcakes) are kept behind the counter. Seating extremely limited. The only saving grace is that the cupcake was pretty tasty. Dry as heck, but still tasty.
Recommendation: Go elsewhere. It doesn’t take much to find a better spot for a quick treat on the UWS.

This review is for a wedding cake we purchased through Magnolia Bakery with Victoria.
The cake was DELICIOUS, and the service we received during the whole process was fantastic.
First, the cake was unanimously the best wedding cake any of our guests and we have had at a wedding. We received tons of compliments on the cake from our guests.
We had three layers, each a different flavor. Each one was delicious.
Victoria worked with us to make sure we knew all the options and chose what was best for us. We had a really fun tasting at the UWS location. She was friendly, super knowledgable, and professional!
Finally, the cake was extremely affordable for the quality we received! We were given a quote that was a third the price of the quote given by our vendor. Magnolia could charge double and we STILL would think it would be worth it (luckily they don’t)!
I think it’s a no-​brainer to choose Magnolia Bakery as the baker for your wedding cake. After much shopping around Magnolia is the best in terms of PRICE, SERVICE and YUMMY-​NESS!

I like this Magnolia location. The staff is very friendly and efficient, there’s seating available (but filled up, obviously), and the Halloween decorations were both spooky and fun. Even at 8PM there were still tons of cupcakes left. I’d recommend a bigger sign highlighting that they offer their banana pudding. I didn’t notice it until I was about to check out my cupcake, so I assumed they didn’t have it there. But the cupcake was delicious, so I’m happy.

First time in this location. Got the key lime cheese cake and wow it was delicious. Also got a hot chocolate which was also good!
The cashier was all smiles and very sweet. The place has a great ambience and old world charm to it. They have so many things I want to try.

I just wanted to update this review because we received an official apology from Magnolia and a certificate for their magnificent desserts.
I don’t want it to sound like we’ve been sold (:-)), however this case just proved that Magnolia indeed cares about their customers to stay happy and it is highly appreciated. This is what makes their audience loyal.

Tried the banana pudding for the first time, and it was honestly even better than I expected.
Magnolia is known for their banana pudding — many of my friends have tried it, and passionately insisted it was amazing. I’m more of a chocolate lover, so I didn’t think the banana pudding would be something I’d enjoy all that much, especially compared to something like a chocolate cupcake or something.
With that said, I tried the banana pudding and absolutely loved it.

Finally found out what the hype was all about. I feel like I am a real New Yorker now. LOL. I have always seen dozens of people walking around with Magnolia Bakery bags. I thought to myself this place has to be amazing. One day a good friend of mine was telling me how amazing the banana pudding is so I decided to make trip. I live in Harlem so the closest one to me is the UWS location.
I made a trip on a weekday around 3ish. It wasn’t too crowded and there was about 5 people in line and it went rather fast. When I first walked in it was almost like sensory overload with all the desserts, smells, and colors. They were all presented perfectly. The employees were very helpful and sweet. I ordered the small size bread pudding and apple juice. I wanted the lemonade because it was made in house but they were out of it. All together my bill was about 6 dollars. I grabbed a seat and indulged. The pudding was so light you almost didn’t feel bad about eating it. Next time I will give there cupcakes a try.

One of my favorite cupcake spots in NYC, but I think I like it more for the banana pudding. What makes magnolia so good is that they have the proper frosting to cake ratio. Some place put too much frosting or too little, this place gets it right. They have a cupcake of the day, but the staple is the red velvet.
On to the banana pudding, it is my favorite in all the city. Not overly sweet and they actually have chunks of banana, some place have forgotten to do that of late. magnolia has the banana pudding on lock down.

I KNOW!
I am so late to the Magnolia cupcake party… this was my first visit ever to one of the Magnolias… I have no idea why I waited this long, because the two I tried last night were on another level. The pistachio was light and fluffy and topped with chopped pistachio nuts. The chocolate-​chocolate was sinful and decadent. I would have ordered another one to scarf down then and there but I restrained myself.
I will say that I had been hoping there would be more of a variety of cupcakes (there are about two monthly ones, a daily special one, plus the regulars). They had a variety of mini cheesecakes and other desserts… looks like I’ll have to visit again!

Cookies and cupcakes and cheesecake, oh my!
A NYC classic, Magnolia is the place to go to satisfy your sweet tooth. Display cases full of pumpkin cheesecakes, apple harvest cookies, lemon bars, and chocolate. What’s a girl to do?
And there it was. The salted caramel chocolate chip cookie. Chocolate? Check. Salty? Check. Sweet? Check. Purchased? Check. A soft, gooey cookie accentuated with chunks of caramel and sprinkled with the perfect smattering of sea salt, this cookie was delightful. I told myself… I’ll just eat half today… like that ever happens! While the cookie may not be at the level of Levain Bakery, it hit the spot and proved that Magnolia Bakery is a NYC tradition you can’t pass up.

J’ai vu la maison de Carrie Bradshaw!!! Ouiiii!!! Je me suis mise sur le perron comme elle. J’ai flâné dans son quartier. Il faut dire que Greenwich, c’est assez merveilleux. Tous ces immeubles magnifiques dans des rues parfaitement entretenues… Ces boutiques de créateurs, ces pâtisseries, … Tiens Magnolia. WHAT? MAGNOLIA? Mais ouiii, c’est la que Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda et Samantha se retrouvaient pour manger et papoter!!!
Il en faut peu pour les deux fans de SATC que nous sommes pour nous convaincre d’entrer et de nous vouer au culte de nos héroïnes. Le service est super avenant. Même vu le monde. A première vue c’est cher. Suis-​je étonnée? Non. Le lieu est trop trop cute. Il y a vraiment large choix de pâtisseries mais voyez vous, ce sont tous les types de pâtisseries que je n’aime pas: un peu trop chimiques a mon goût, les pâtisseries américaines qu’on vous bourre de crème au beurre.
Résultat, j’opte pour un cupcake façon Oreo, et non, ça passé pas. Gâteau un peu trop sec, trop de crème au beurre tue le cupcake. Je reste sur ma faim du coup. Et je repars déçue en plus. Carrie a meilleur goût pour les vêtements que pour les cupcakes.

Je n’ai jamais été une grande adepte de pâtisserie, et encore moins des patisseries beaucoup trop saturées en beurre et sucre…
Mais il y a trois ans, lors d’une petite visite à ma sœur à New-​York, elle me parlait de sa nouvelle addiction culinaire: «Les cupcakes » …
” Tu verras, il faut en goûter des bons et on n’a pas de sensation d’écœurement, malgré la crème au beurre ! «
Et nous voilà parties chez Magnolia Bakery, qui fût «la première fois «d’une longue série.
Tout cela pour dire que 3 ans plus tard, après plusieurs tentatives en Europe pour trouver de bons cupcakes, je retourne à New York et teste la deuxième boutique de Magnolia Bakery. Et le plaisir est toujours intact !
Le choix est très vaste pour les cupcakes, mais aussi pour les cheesecakes et autres cookies.
J’aime leur décoration kistch à souhait pour donner l’impression d’un salon de thé, et justement, l’avantage estt qu’ils ont une petite salle pour pouvoir déguster.
Alors oui, c’est très touristique, mais la qualité est là, donc de passage à New York, tentez l’expérience !

L’incontournable New-​Yorkais, c’est là où Charlotte, Carrie, Samantha et Miranda viennent prendre leur goûter. Juste pour la variété des topings, la déco des cupcakes, et surtout le charmant endroit qui ressemble à une maison de poupée … A-​MA-​ZING.
A tester: Le cupcake Red Velvelt. A jamais le meilleur.
