Specialties
This location features a café and wine bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a specialty food shop with a carefully chosen selection of artisanal cheese. Stop by in the morning for a cappuccino and a handmade pastry, or linger in the afternoon or evening over a glass of wine or craft beer while you enjoy house made small plates, cheese or charcuterie plates, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. The cheese counter is stocked with the American artisan and farmstead cheeses Lucy’s shops are known for, as well as a hand-picked selection of European classics and the highest quality charcuterie, sliced to order.
Our Mac & Cheese is a favorite at both lunch and dinner, and our soup and sandwich combinations are perfect at lunch. This location also offers a selection of prepared foods, farm-fresh dairy products, and every type of cheese accoutrements you could imagine.
History
Established in 2008.
Lucy opened the first Lucy’s Whey in East Hampton in 2008. Customers loved the relaxed, intimate space because it felt like walking into Lucy’s own home.
In the fall of 2009, Lucy’s Whey was invited to open a store in Chelsea Market in New York City. This location has become Chelsea’s top purveyor of artisanal cheese, and plays an integral part in the creative, food-obsessed culture of the neighborhood and the Market.
The Carnegie Hill shop is Lucy’s newest store, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. At this neighborhood shop, your cheesemongers will get to know your favorites and handpick exciting new selections just for you. Like Lucy, they are deeply passionate and knowledgeable about great cheese and genuine hospitality.
In addition, the Carnegie Hill location is Lucy’s first to feature a café and wine bar. Diners can enjoy breakfast, house-made small plates, cheese and meat plates, Counter Culture coffee, and craft wine and beer.
