Central Park Hematology & Oncology is a four-​doctor private practice treating patients with a range of benign and malignant tumors and blood disorders. Our board certified doctors are counted among the Best Doctors in numerous prestigious listings, and are affiliated with Mt Sinai Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital where they also hold teaching positions.

Unlike the large NYC medical centers where a patient is one among thousands, each patient at CPHO receives the personal attention of our doctors and is treated with an individualized therapeutic approach.

Founded in 1962, we are one of the oldest and most respected oncology/​hematology practices in New York City. The office is located on East 86^th Street just half a block from Central Park.

Dr. Klafter is Board Certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology. New York Magazine included him in their 2012 list of New York’s Best Doctors.

After college at The University of Pennsylvania, he went to medical school at New York University, graduating in 1994. He completed residency and was a Chief Resident at Bellevue Hospital/​NYU. After fellowship at Emory University, he returned to New York in 2001.

Dr. Klafter is an attending physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital. He holds an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Active in the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, he has been awarded the Leslie Kuhn Memorial Award for Service to the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Klafter specializes in the close care of his patients. Always available and invested in the best outcomes, he seeks to provide intimate, personalized care. This remains the hallmark of his practice.
