Josephine Julian, MD

I am not sure why Dr. Julian has so many negative reviews, or even a single negative review. I have been seeing Dr. Julian for several years now and I haven’t switched PCPs for the sole fact that her bedside manner is exactly what I need. Dr. Julian is sweet, kind, caring, and explanative. I never feel rushed out of the room. I agree with some that she is thorough, and she will order every test in the book unless you specifically say it’s unnecessary (or be sure to ask the front desk staff if your insurance will cover it – and if you have sucky insurance, you can’t blame that on M.O.M.!). Some of the lower level staff are mehhh, but Dr. Julian and all of her NPs have been awesome to me. I also love that this practice has its own blood lab, dermo and cardio within the same complex. Makes for easy medical one stop shopping! I’ve referred at least 5 friends to Dr. Julian throughout the years and they all think she’s great!

I am very disappointed with Dr. Julian. I followed her advice to take blood test. Yet, after 10 business days, she still has not discussed the results with me, not to mention recommendation of treatment if needed. I tried to call back several times. Yet, no one picked up the phone or returned the call. If she is too busy to take care of my health, please just send me the test results so that I can consult another doctor. I don’t want to go back again, it is very frustrating!

Horrible– all business. She has zero empathy or concern for her patients or potential patients– She is a prime example of a doctor that needs to find a different profession. It’s very unfortunate that doctors such as Josephine still practice medicine. I guess this is the world we live in today. Doctors that only care about the bottom line and reputation of the practice instead of a patient’s health and well being. I hope one day, she is put in a similar situation where she needed the assistance of a professional and could not get the help based off politics and business. I would highly recommend not seeing this doctor!!! We all know the best docs are the ones that «care» and are empathetic for a person’s a health.

This is a disgrace to the medical field what goes on at this office. My son went for blood work to a lab that was conveniently located in the office. He went in to have his blood work done and was lured in to a room by some staff members. Apparently Dr. Julian came in to ask him some «questions» and then directed him to the lab. Not only was my son billed for an office visit and copay, they insisted that he had made an appointment to be seen by this MD when all he was doing was going for blood work in which he already had a prescription for by his primary care MD who is not even located in NYC. Stay away from this practice of unscrupulous medicine practiced here.

Dr. Julian is simply delightful. So patient, knowledgable and calming. The new MOM office is awesome! Everything is clean, brand new and state of the art.

The saddest thing about M.O.M is the completely incapable staff. When I first came to the office they misfiled my information under another patients name and no matter how many times I call, no matter what the reason no one seems to have any clue. Its actually sad because Dr. Julian is not a bad doctor… I can’t deal any more and I am switching doctors

Dr. Julian is actually a good physician. However, the billing process is such a rip off and nightmare I can never go back despite good doctors being hard to find in NYC. They keep your credit card on file and will charge it if your insurance does not pay the full amount immediately. I woke up to a $ 2100 charge on my amex card from Dr. Julian. I did not authorize the charge. I first called Dr. Julian’s office. They actually outsource their billing. You are given a 1 800 number to call, and an answering service takes your messages and promised to call you back in 24 hours. I called 3 times in three days and finally walked to Dr. Julian’s office in person. My insurance had ALREADY paid Dr. Julian for the full amount, and I was charged $ 2100 on my personal credit card AFTER that without my knowledge (my insurance sent me a copy of the dated checks they sent Dr. Julian) After going there in person, I was promised a call from the billing person. The billing person was not about to refund me, and I ended up sending her the information on my insurance having already paid as she was not about to call my insurance herself. It took a week for me to have the charge of $ 2100 taken off of my credit card. They were paid twice and there is no doubt in my mind I would have never gotten my money back unless I had marched down there myself and gathered all of the evidence. Bottom line, do not go here unless you don’t mind your credit card being charged without permission for your bills before or even after your insurance pays.
