Isaac B Salon

First time i went to the salon around a year and a half ago, because it is conveniently located next to my apartment. I had a haircut, which i didn’t really like and thought that i wouldn’t come back, however a few days ago i saw a very good groupon deal and decided to give this place another chance, hoping another stylist will be better.
The receptionist was not pleased that i didn’t mention over the phone while making an appointment that i have a groupon deal, but nevertheless they were able to serve me right away. The deal included a treatment and a haircut. The treatment was the best part of the whole experience, it indeed made my hair glossy and soft. The rest, on the other hand, was pretty upsetting. The lady that washed my hair actually hurt me by roughly pulling my hair & scratching my head. Well, she was pretty busy talking to a receptionist at that moment.
The hairdresser girl Nicole, while being very super sweet, ended up giving me a haircut that looks like i cut my hair myself. I needed just a little trim of the dry ends and i asked for layering hair in the back. She listened, cut, blowdried– everything looked a little too short from what i wanted, but still ok. However, when i washed my hair and straitened it, i noticed that the layering was done very roughly with hair sticking out here and there creating not a very neat look. Well, i guess lesson learnt, if you want a good service and a good outcome, don’t be cheap.

Not so good. I went in for a bang trim and left looking like a child did it. I’m not sure how you can work at a salon and have no clue about the technique in cutting bangs.

Poor costumer service and disorganized booking appts. Called to cancel my reservation 30 minutes before (after I was on my way) because of a clerical error, and refused to offer a complimentary add on service/​product for the inconvenience.

Best haircut I ever had. See Moshe at Isaac B Salon! he is an amazing hairdresser and made getting a haircut a very enjoyable experience. I would recommend Moshe to anyone, male or female.
I’ve been going to Moshe for over ten years and haven’t looked back!

I seriously don’t understand why this place doesn’t have five stars on Unilocal.I have been coming here for some time and I must say that it is absolutely amazing. The girls are extremely wonderful and kind, from the receptionist to the one who washes your hair. I always go see Eva who is some sort of hair goddess, she will listen to you and give some suggestions and then do her hair magic. If you’re looking for a hair stylist (especially for short hair) she is the one to go to. She’s great at coloring and styling. No complaints from this happy customer

Love this little place, thanks to Unilocal for recommending! I was a bit worried looking at their star rating, however this place did not disappoint.
Came here to get my hair done before my friends b-​day party. They did a pretty darn good job. Small yet cozy atmosphere, helpful friendly people and it was also very reasonably priced!
The staff was very nice and friendly.
I will be back!

I’ll start by saying everyone has different experiences at each and every salon. This is my experience with this salon:
I came here on a groupon hoping to find a stylist who would listen to what I wanted and follow the pictures of what I wanted with maybe a suggestion to what I was looking for. I had the groupon for partial, highlight, Moroccan treatment, hair cut and style.
The receptionist originally set my appt for one date but when I called that day to confirm she said I didn’t have an appointment and made it for the following week. The stylist I had was friendly, listened to what I was looking for but gave me a layered bob just like I had, had the last time. I asked for the edges to be cut at a point to give it a more edgy look not a typical bob cut and she cut straight across with dull scissors so now looks like I have split ends. The owner was standing around the receptionist most the time never once did I see him smile.
The positives: The Moroccan treatment made my hair super soft I loved it and was a great package deal for the price for sure! The stylist was friendly and the highlights were the perfect amount and color.
However, with as many different salons as I have been to between Florida and NY, I won’t be recommending this one nor returning.

Be careful if you buy a groupon. When you try to make an appointment they give it to you weeks later!

Just like the review right below — the best part was the wash. Have not much to say except that I came in with a Groupon, made an appt for a week later on a weekday, Eva seriously was rushed to cut my hair which ended up very choppy. What a horrible hair salon.

Horrible place. Attitude!!! Staff were nasty and haircut was done in 5 minutes. Hair was not sectioned when blow dried and walked out needing to finish the job. Hair wash was the best part.

This was my 4^th or 5^th time at Isaac B Salon, and this time I came in with a Groupon. I’ve seen a few of the different ladies here, but this time saw Isaac. The outcome was JUST what I needed and exactly what I wanted. Contrary to other reviews, Isaac was definitely not rushed or rough with my hair. I would definitely recommend him for both cut and color. And if for nothing else, you get to have a hot guy playing with your hair for an hour. ;)

Have been going to this salon for about 2 years now and always walk out of the salon with a huge smile on my face. Eva is a magician! Have no idea how she can cut and blow dry the exact cut I am looking for in 20 minutes while laughing and talking! We always catch up on my latest bad series of mishap dates. :) A few days ago I had my last haircut and actually had a guy track me down and ask if I was a Mexican celebrity and what shows I have been on! He didn’t seem to be hitting on me and was pretty serious so I’ll take it as a compliment of my gorgeous new do!

Location is great for me, and they were so FAST! I had Isaac who was lovely — handles everything very professionally and gave me exactly what I needed. Plus he handles hair and equipment with such saavy, it’s fun to watch him work. Best part was that he was super fast. Just how I like it!

Been coming here for about a year now. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Prices are reasonable. The biggest gripe I have is NOBODY ever answers the phone when they’re supposed to be open at 10:00. Does anyone start on time here???

Conveniently located and very reasonably priced (especially for the midtown area). Isaac is a talented experienced professional with a great team.
Eva is my FAVORITE stylist AND gives the BEST haircut!!! She listens, cares and always makes great suggestions for my color & style — an experienced professional!

I had a great experience at Isaac b. salon yesterday. I bought the $ 39 groupon for Moroccan oil treatment, cut and blowout. I actually went here on the recommendation of a friend who gets her hair cut by Isaac.
I have long curly hair, as does my friend, so finding a good hair person can be difficult. When I got to the salon, Heather, the receptionist was very friendly and sweet. After waiting about 10 minutes, Rafaella took my coat and did a great wash and treatment for my hair. I saw Isaac for my cut and blowout. He asked me what I wanted for both the cut and blowout, and went to work. My hair looked healthy, shiny and beautiful after, and my cut and blowout were great.

I went in with a groupon for a cut and most of the staff seemed genuinely nice. I had the owner, Isaac, work on my hair and the outcome of the cut was pretty. I really wanted to give 4 stars but he was pretty rushed, a bit too rough (pulled my wet hair hard, and brushed it rough, from top to bottom instead of bottom to top to avoid breakage) If you’ve got a sensitive scalp unused to big pulls I suggest you mention it to him before he gets his hands on you (I definitely don’t have a sensitive scalp since I’ve years of untangling my own knot-​prone hair, but his prep for the cut had it’s painful moments even for me)
HUGE Pro:
He is the first stylist that has ever listened to me and not cut too much hair. My hair is fairly long and I’m trying to get it a bit longer — he cut just enough to freshen up my ends and fix the shape a bit. I read the reviews and tried to book on a weekday in hopes of a lighter crowd, but I guess it was after work so it was still crowded and rushed. I honestly think if he didn’t have so much on his plate (lots of clients back to back) he would have made me a loyal customer.

I live 2 blocks away from Isaac B Salon so when my friend went last weekend for a haircut with Ashley and gave it rave reviews I was ecstatic!
I was due for a Keratin treatment and was not happy with the salon I had been going to. I called around 2pm yesterday to try and schedule a haircut/​keratin with Ashley for 6:00 pm. Anyone who has ever been to a salon in Manhattan knows its almost impossible to get an evening appointment last minute especially for a Keratin treatment. Heather at the front desk was like a guardian angel, her and Ashley coordinated and fit me in at 6:15!
My experience there was nothing less than perfect, Ashley was absolutely amazing! I’ve never encountered such an honest, knowledgeable stylist who genuinely cares about customer satisfaction. She stayed late and made sure I had the best treatment possible.
I HIGHLY recommend Isaac B Salon, great atmosphere, great people and great quality work!!!

I’d been passing Isaac B Salon everyday on my way to work and finally went in about a month ago. The salon is modern, spacious and clean. I got Eva, who was awesome — friendly, funny and great with hair. I just got a simple trim and blowout and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I went back to Eva again this past weekend to get my hair blown out before my best friend’s engagement party and loved the end result again. Prices are also very reasonable. Will def be back when I need to get my hair did again!
