I wish i read the reviews before i bought this Amazon Local Deal. I actually did not experience the massage itself — never had a chance. Made an appointment a week in advance and came in today. First of all, the place is dirty and a little scary. Second, when i walked in i was greeted by a very rude «what do you want?» from a barber. Nobody was in, because apparently the massage therapist was sick. OK, so i call to reschedule and the lady on the phone just could not be bothered. She interrupted me several times, claiming she called earlier to cancel and just being really rude! I called Amazon Local and got my money back. Even at 75% off this place is not worth it and i have serious concerns about how sanitary it is. DON“T GO! SAVE YOUR MONEY.

This place is the WORST Spa EVER. DO NOT GO THERE. I cannot say this enough. I wish I had read the reviews here before I went. The place is dirty. The massage rooms are only separated with curtains and the employees talk to each other while they massage you, saying things like «that dude left only $ 10».
Massage is not the word to describe what I had. It was rather being rubbed by cheap dirty grease. They don’t know how to massage; they are not specialists. Towels are dirty, everything is.

On April 27 I redeemed my groupon for a 1hour swedish massage at International unisex salon. I wanted to share with you my experience.
I show up 20 minutes early, just to be considerate. This place is located next to a psychic, and the place itself is dirty and dingy. I walk in, and no one really acknowledges me, so I just say «Im here for a massage at 1pm». They all nod and go to «the back» which is clearly visible, and start to eat and converse. Fine, it was lunch time. I get it.
Then, the guy calls me in. Ok. I go into the room and he says to get undressed and go under the towel (a towel which does NOT cover me well enough). Ok, fine. No big deal.
And this is where everything went wrong.
So I hear the guy sniffling. He is obviously sick. He continues to sniffle and snort throughout. Stopping about 5 – 6 times to blow his nose… and NOT wash his hands. He even left twice to blow his nose, and I made sure to listen to see if he washed his hands, and of course, he didn’t. I literally wanted to run out of there, i was so disgusted. I didnt know what to do. Luckily, the «one hour» massage only lasted 45 minutes, which I was thankful for. Not to mention, the massage sucked! I don’t think this guy has ever given one before!
As i left, I handed him a $ 10 bill, which he didn’t deserve and he ran away before I could ask for change. Then the owner comes out and asks me for 70 cents for tax. I ask her to take it from the $ 10 I just gave him and she says NO! She says I have to tip him $ 10 or more, and that I have no choice.
Finally I get to leave. And all I can think about is that I am just starting my vacation, first one in over a year… and I’m traveling. If I get sick, I will be pissed! Luckily, I’m not. Yet.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. From the start, the person on the phone was insanely rude. I had tried calling several times to make an appointment during regular business hours but either no one answered or no one returned my calls (I did not leave a voicemail every time). Due to a last minute trip for work, I wanted to come in for an appointment before my voucher expired. As I have a lot of work to do prior to leaving for the work trip, I only had Saturday available. I was basically told that that was impossible and that I need to «figure out a way to make it work.» She also called me a liar when I said that I had called several times before. She also hung up on me when I never once was rude on the phone. Absolutely horrendous customer service. Methinks she knew that I had a voucher and didn’t want to honor it.

I was so excited to purchase a couples massage from here until I read the reviews below. A little disheartened because I couldnt get a refund I decided I might as well go and give it a chance. I was contacted by the owner who was EXTREMELY RUDE in regards to my inquiry on a refund. She rudely made it known that I wasnt good enough to do business there and that she did not want to book my appt. This place is very unprofessional and I would never recommend anyone to purchase anything from this place.
They need a serious lesson in customer service, and I dont know about anyone else but a massage in the back of barber shop (no thank you)

The CREEPIEST place and WORST massage I have ever had. Not only is this place NOT a spa, it is NOT EVEN a «no-​frills» spa. It is in the back of a barbershop, with massage beds in a makeshift room. It is dirty and creepy and literally the very first thing I did afterwards, was run home to shower and scrub myself. Writing this review to warn others, was the second.
First of all, there is no way these people are certified masseurs. I honestly think they watched a video of what a masseur is supposed to do and just copy the movements. My «masseuse» rubbed my body up and down, then ground her elbow into my shoulder blades, went back and forth from my arm to my shoulder to my back to my other arm, to my neck, to my hand, she was all over the place. It was not at all professional. She also got VERY close to my lady area many times, and kept rubbing my butt cheeks. I was scared I was in «that» type of place. So creepy.
I only go to the no-​frills places anyway, but this place is a scam. I bought an AmazonLocal deal — a three-​pack of massages — but I will not be going back for the rest. Ugh.

This little gem of a salon and was more then I expected.
The owner was wonderful and warm and spent 4 hours on my Hair Treatment without making me feel like I was a bother (because my hair is o
think). I didn’t have the chance to get a massage but I could tell the customers
coming out were very happy.
I will definitely go back.

It was definitely not what I was expecting… They were running behind but I got a choice of if I wanted a man or a woman so that was good. The massage itself was great and I got a deal on LifeBooker so it was definitely worth it. The owner is really nice so if I can get another deal I’d go back.

Definitely don’t judge a book by its cover — I was skeptical at first but the massage was fantastic. Felt very relaxed the whole time, and everyone was so warm and friendly. Will definitely go back and recommend to friends!

First time I got a massage from a male masseur so I was uneasy at first. But he was very professional and kept on checking if the pressure was ok etc. Did not regret giving it a try. Only drawback was the place itself… It’s a barber shop and the massage rooms are quite small. The walls are thin so you can hear everything going on outside. But if you are willing to accommodate this then this place is great for a no-​frills quick massage for a good price!

I got a deal on KGBDeals for a swedish or deep tissue massage for $ 29 so I thought oh why not? I expected a lot more since it was near time square. As I walked along W 38^th and then to the front of the stairs to go up to the salon there was a lady trying to do palm readings. Ignoring her, I went upstairs. Sketched out. I open the door and its a barber shop. I thought to myself,“Hmm am I in the right place?” Then the owner lady comes out of a room and I ask her if it is the salon and indeed it is. Never judge a book by its cover! I arrive 30 minutes early so I wait and then this other lady comes to bring me to the room. My masseuse is actually A DUDE! Oh dear god! I walk in the room and it surprisingly is nice just like how massage rooms are. So I strip down and lie on the massage table. I am nervous because it is a guy but I give this place the benefit of the doubt. The masseur was actually really good. He got all my tense spots out. I’ve been to MANY massage parlors too. He kept asking if it was ok, if I had requests, and etc… It was a bit less than an hour by like 5 – 10 minutes but he seemed tired. The massage was good too so I let it go. I tipped him $ 15 and went on my way. Not bad. The owner also said they were in process of redecorating the salon since it used to be a barber shop (it still is though).
