I have been coming to this place for quite some time now and the owners have disappointed me very little to date. I first came here with some friends when we were chillin and craved the dollar dumplings from that special spot on Moscow Street. It was already late and making the trip to chinatown was making us feel more exhausted. So we checked out this place. The dumplings here were not a dollar but they were sooo delicious and similar to the dumplings downtown. However, after almost six months, they have changed the quality of the dumplings. It’s more doughy, thick, and similar to the dumplings you get at a normal chinese take out place. I DON’T UNDERSTANDWHYTHEYCHANGEDIT. Aside from the dumplings, they also sell delicious Mei Fung, Lo Mein, Chinese pastries(which become $ 1 after 2pm), and bubble tea. The owners also gave me a small sample of the BBQ boneless spare ribs when they first started introducing it on their menu. It was absolutely delicious. The pork was well cooked and they didn’t over do it with the BBQ sauce, which I was grateful for since I’m not very fond of BBQ sauce. Like I said, I have been coming here for quite sometime. Slowly, they have been upgrading their small restaurant and their menu. They have now added Chicken Brocolli and other items that are prepared in a fryer. They have also started using white rice. In the beginning, they only served various versions of fried rice. They have yet to add beef to the menu. Their menu is becoming similar to a regular chinese take out place. That doesn’t matter. The quality of their food does not disappoint, with the exception of the dumplings. It is better compared to the food found at a local take out place. I notice that other people have complained about the delivery service. While I completely understand and since I have also experienced the same problem, the customers need to understand that this small business is family owned and are under-staffed. The cook/owner is also the delivery man. He can’t cook and make the deliveries at the same time. So people need to have PATIENCE. I live on 5th Ave and the restaurant is on 1st Ave. There are plenty of other take out places between my place and theirs but I always make the trip there whenever I get the chance. Maybe others reading my review won’t agree with my five star rating. But besides the change in dumpling quality and the delivery service, there is nothing to complain about from this place. I absolutely love the food and the owners. I have become a loyal customer. I always have a big appetite so I never go in to just buy one plate of food. Please support. Have a little patience. You won’t be disappointed.

The staff are nice but slow. Their food is cheap and awful. My eggroll was too greasy that it soaked thru the bag. The tapioca in my milk tea had a bad texture… definitely not fresh. Worst of all the noodle dish was soaked in soy sauce. Can’t believe I had to drink a whole gallon of water to wash out the saltiness.

It really, really pains me to do this. I don’t want to do this, but I cannot not do it. I have to strip a few stars. It pains me because I adore the owners. They’re always super friendly and sometimes chatty. They’re good folks and I want them to succeed! A few things: The specials have changed. The bargains I went for are no longer there or they’re only available at certain times. Menus and specials change. I get that. That in itself is no biggie. It’s fine. I’m REALLY mad about the dumplings. If you peak at my last review, I had a whole section about the skin of the dumplings not being crazy thick. Well, that has changed. On my last visit, just a week ago, the dumpling skins were absurdly thick and doughy(like the crap you’d find at Vanessa’s). I dug out the meat and tossed the dough. What I waste! And then I got absurdly thirsty and no amount of water could quench my thirst.

In N Out, also known as Good Taste 360 Inc, has benefits that may outweigh its cons. I walked in at 8:30pm and got my food in 20 minutes. I ordered a Tai Chien chicken(like a sweet sesame chicken without sesame) ‘night special’, which is $ 5.50 and comes with fried rice. They overdid it on the sauce but otherwise it’s standard takeout Chinese. I come by every other morning for their freshly baked breads and am a big fan of their $ 1 breads(also that price for all pastries after 2pm!), so now they know me as the dollar-bread girl. Embarrassing? More like committed client! They’re friendly, expedient and very affordably priced. However, they do close at 9pm so one must choose between laziness and hunger before 8:30pm, as I had done earlier tonight.

Why oh why do I have to give In N Out one star. I really didn’t want it to come to this, but from the experience I had, this rating is well deserved. I am writing a review based on my delivery experience. I ordered my food at 12:45pm on a Saturday. I went with the $ 5 pan fried dumplings and chicken fried rice deal, and added an an Almond Bubble Milkshake to my order. I asked how long my order will take, and the woman on the phone said 15 – 20 minutes. Well at 1:18pm my order still didn’t arrive so I gave them a call to check in, the same woman told me the delivery guy is on his way. 10 minutes later, still no show. Just as I was about to cancel my order, he buzzes my door at 1:30pm. My order took 45 minutes to arrive, and I only live one block away. About the food: First off, my food wasn’t pipping hot — STRIKEONE. I was expecting traditional pan fried dumplings, instead I had huge, soggy balls of meat and excess dough. Plus, the chicken fried rice was bland, and the pieces of chicken in it were strange — STRIKETWO. But the saddest part of my order was the Almond Bubble Milkshake. It was way too sweet, more like an ice drink than a milkshake, and the tapioca pearls were rock hard — STRIKETHREE, they are out! Maybe this place is literally meant for people to physically go In N Out, and not for delivery services.

NOTEABOUTTHE3STARRATING: Please read the comments under FOOD — the rating is simply an average. In a nutshell, the pastries here are worth 5 stars but I will leave the other things behind. THEINTRO: I love my neighborhood, but I definitely am saddened by how out of my way I have to go to get certain goods, like my Asian pastries. So let’s rewind a bit — in case you aren’t familiar with the art of Asian pastries, there are standards that you’ll find in just about any bakery — coconut cream buns, custard buns, angel food cakes are just some of them. I grew up off of them, so you can only imagine my excitement when In n Out opened in the neighborhood. The service is great — the folks who work there are really sweet and friendly. Now on to the food: THEFOOD: The FRESH pastries are amazing. Like, absolutely delicious and beautifully made, and taste fantastic. So I’m talking about basically what’s on the trays when you walk in – croissants, cookies, buns, cinnamon rolls, doughnuts — all amazing. These are EASILY a 5 star. The baker here don’t play. I’ve had their almond cookies and their mini macaroons — those are pretty tasty. I spoke with the owner and the cake logs are popular but I am not a fan of those, so haven’t given those a try. Everything here is under $ 2. My recommendations are the apple turnovers, the angel food cake, and anything puff pastry based. The SAVORY menu — I have had the dumplings and they are handmade and taste pretty good, but are definitely on the oilier side. Also, I ordered the Mei Fung and it was on the dry side(although they made it to order…). The DRINKS — as far as it seems, most of their bubble teas are made from powders and personally, that just ain’t my thing. I love bubble tea to death, but it’s just not happening for me. All in all, as I’ve stated, go for what’s fresh. I hope as they get settled into the business, the owners can perhaps revamp the savory and drink part of their menus.

cute little asian bakery that gives me something to do and eat while im waiting for my laundry to finish up the block. all of the pastries on the counter are reduced to a dollar after 2pm. the coconut bun is great. they also have bubble tea and fried/steamed pork dumplings. no veggie ones. aside from the pastries everything has pork or ham in it.
