(This is a nail review) Mixed feelings– my gel manicure turned out great, and is holding up a week later. However, the process was rather unpleasant, as the man who did the pedicure and manicure was quite perfunctory, which itself would be fine, except that I found some of the treatment not to the highest hygienic standard… Rinsing the cuticle clippers in the foot bath, not cleaning the previous persons clippings from the manicure table. Felt kind of icky the whole time. If your goal is just for the nails to come out fine, it’s ok, but overall kind of unpleasant experience.

The manicure was decent but they ruined my eyebrows! Never before have my eyebrows bled during threading. They also shaped them weirdly. Worst part was having my skin peeled off during upper lip wax. They told me that it was «just sensitive skin» and if there was any damage to my skin it was my fault because I didn’t suck in my lips the right way (never been asked to do that before at other salons and this has never happened to me). Lo and behold, my derm told me that a layer of skin was, in fact, peeled off. Hopefully it doesn’t scar! So angry. Never coming back.

I can’t say enough positive things about the service at GGSpa! Everyone on the staff is friendly and professional. They never rush through a service and they always check in to make sure you are happy with how things are progressing! Leena and Ivy are always meeting and exceeding my nail art requests. Leena keeps my eyebrows in check which is no small feat and I have seen and heard the magic Ivy works on people’s eyelashes. Give GGSpa a try. It’s clean, calm, and accommodating. I love it!

Ivy and her team are absolutely amazing! I have following Ivy for years, and she is the best! I get both my nails and eyelashes done here, and I have no complaints. Ivy and her team keep everything very clean and organized. They are also extremely friendly and accommodating whether I have an appt or I walk in! I highly recommend it!

I have been coming to golden glow spa for around 4 months and I have to say I really love the service here. The place is super clean and I always get my gel manicure done with Liena and it lasts on my nails for up to 3 weeks !!! Liena is so detail oriented and always makes sure my nails are even and that the shape is good on all. I’ve never had any problems and is for some reason if something happens where they chip they will fix it for you no problem. Service here is great and they also give the best pedicures. They take their time and are very professional. I will say they do get very busy around the night time and on weekends so making an appointment is preferable if you don’t want to wait.

As a licensed nail tech I’m super critical. I had such great services at Golden Glow I can’t wait until my next trip to the city. The ladies were very detailed oriented and thorough, I am so pleased with my pedi and gel mani! They didn’t speak much English but all their efforts were to please me and leave me completely satisfied within my time crunch to make it to the airport. The salon was clean and they practiced good sanitation, I would definitely recommend.

I needed a nail place open late on a Sunday and did a quick search of places around me and I’m SO GLAD this place came up. The prices are fair and with the quality of work I’d have gladly paid more. Ivy did an amazing job and this will definitely be my new nail place!

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST DO NOT GO HERE. We arrived and were told there was no wait for pedicures. They put us in chairs/​foot baths with lukewarm water and we sat for 20 minutes with no one checking on/​attending to us. We kept asking about the wait and they acted like they did not understand English. Finally, when we said we were going to need to leave, they started yelling at us in English to be patient. At this point, it had been 25 mins sitting in tepid water. We left. Will never go back.
Rehoboth Spa Lounge around the corner is SO MUCH BETTER, cleaner, and professional.

Lena is meticulous with cuticles! She «gets it».
I have a had gel and regualr manicure done by her only now. Although everyone else in the place is amazing. The thing that stands out the most to me is their meditative style. They are super hygienic and the atmosphere is soothing, even when it’s busy.

As I was eating breakfast in the city with a girlfriend my gel manicure chipped and I was in a panic. Looked on Unilocal to see if there were any nail salons near buy that could take me. After calling a few places and being rejected Golden Glow Spa answered my prayers.
We arrived on time and were taken care of rite away. The salon was clean and the estheticians were very good. The gentleman who did my nails did a great job of shaping my nails and cleaning up my cuticles. The salon also provides you with keratin gloves that moisturize and protect your hands from the u.v. light while curing. The gloves were really nice and the lotion inside smelt amazing it left my hands feeling so soft. Ivy did my nail design along with my friends. She is very talented and creative in her work. My nails were 35 $ for gels and another 5 $ for the design. I thought that was a great price for getting your nails done in the city!

I get my eyelash extensions here, which last me 4 – 6 weeks depending on how many photo shoots I have. I’m an actress and comedian so I’m constantly traveling and I love that I don’t have to worry about makeup when my eyelashes are done. I also get my eyebrows tinted here and of course my threading as well, which is another way to feel made up without any effort.
Every makeup artist who has done my makeup for a shoot or a show is in awe of Ivy’s incredible job on my eyelashes. She is the master of all eyelash extensions! Not to mention her prices are so fair and reasonable.
All my wax needs are met here in a thorough and efficient manner including the girl zone, and peach fuzz on the upper lip. Ain’t no body got time to have a mustache.
And of course I get my mani and pedi here every two weeks because every single employee at Golden Glow Spa has been trained to be quick, proficient, and spectacular at their jobs! I am a busy woman and I love that I can get all my necessary treatments done in an efficient manner so I can feel beautiful and continue on taking care of business!
Making Golden Glow Spa your go to place for all your beauty needs is a no brainer. I come in from Brooklyn just so I can reap all the benefits!

I couldn’t even wait till I was out of here to write a review. I don’t think I realized how bad my first experience with eyelash extensions really were until after I came to ivy and realized that it’s actually it normal for your eyes to be in pain or feel like you have extensions on. And this is having gone to a place with hundreds of reviews and 4 stars on Unilocal.As great as Pinkys has been with my eyebrow threading, the experience couldn’t have been worse for my eyebrows.
The difference between what my eyelashes looked pre ivy and how they look and feel now literally is night and day. The second I met up with my friend after having left here she instantaneously commented on how great my eyes looked and asked why, not realizing that I still had extensions on she just couldn’t tell because they looked so real in comparison to the first set I had done.
Ivy was also so great with accommodating for my last minute appointment an hour before close and didn’t rush or get bothered by this at all which, unfortunately, wouldn’t be the first or second time this sort of thing has happened to me on a late weeknight.
Don’t get discouraged from the quiet salon when you’re about to walk in, everything is very clean and ivy is worth the extra few block trek vs some of the other options in the west vil.

Love it here! Service is great and mani/​pedi is wonderful.
Have a great points system. For every so many dollars you spend, you get a free service.

Without a doubt, Ivy & Choco gives the best Gel Manicure & pedicure in NYC. All the little extra’s such as hot parrafin on your heals as well as moisturizing gloves make this the best deal in town. Also, she does a wonderful foot massage. Ivy is also incredibly talented in doing eyelashes and Kalpana does a wonderful job in threading.
This place cannot be beat!!!

The best salon in the area. Affordable and it last. Did I mention Ivy does eyelashes!!! Super natural and it last. I am going on 3 weeks. Need to make an appointment soon. I also got a regular manicure and it last about 2 weeks. Very clean place. Must go place!!!
