I’ve visited a lot of salons in the city, but I always come back to this one. Great, chill vibe, they don’t try to upset you. The manicures are great and last a week – no joke! This is my go-​to salon.

The best place in the neighborhood for manies and pedis and there are a lot of place in this neighborhood. Pretty consistently good. Great massages from the guy who works here.

This is the best nail salon I have ever been to in NYC!
The girls are all nice and personable and lovely to be around, as well as super talented at what they do.
Buddha is also a great place for chair massages and eyebrow threading too. It’s relaxing, inviting, clean, and unpretentious.
I recommend buddha above all else to everyone!!!

I came in for a pedicure yesterday. The service and final job was actually pretty good, but it was soo overpriced. I paid nearly $ 30 for a pedicure, which is fairly pricy for a pedicure. They did a good job, but not good enough that I’d come again.

Bad experience all around. First off, the woman working there talk incredibly loud with one another the whole time, literally almost yelling across the salon. Don’t go here if you’re looking to relax at all. Second, the pedicure was one of the worst I’ve ever received. Didn’t scrub my feet at all and the massage was all of 3 seconds. Basically was a polish change.

1. Had a pedicure and scrub there. not impressed at all. I came out with sticky legs (she didn’t rinse them thoroughly) and unevenly filed nail.
2. The service is not professional at all, especially for the price they charged. I had to point out the spots she missed here and there.
3.The girl who helped me was very impatient and unhappy the whole time. Messed up the nail polish couple times and had to corrected it throughout the process.
4. Only the nail color turn out ok looking, but they charged me extra for quick dry because they r rush to close the store.
The atmosphere in the salon is tensed, from the manager to the staffs, nobody seems relax and happy but rush and inpatient. Worst pedicure experience I’ve ever had. Not coming back again, period.

I had a groupon deal so I decided to try this place. Bad idea. I made an appointment a week in advance and specified that I had a groupon voucher. When I arrived for my booked appointment, I received a Poor greeting as soon as I walked in. Then the manicurist who was assigned to me had me soak my feet while another person went to search for my voucher. Apparently none of them could find my voucher. I told them that’s weird as I just purchased this and never used it before. They all just stared blankly at me, with no offer of assistance or suggestions. I proceed to call groupon customer service, who kindly explained that my appointment needed to be booked online via an option that was requested by the business. I asked groupon for a refund on my voucher as this business had no idea what was going on with a service they made available to new customers. Even though there were 4 or 5 manicurists there, not one of them were aware of this requirement. Groupon gave me a full refund which appeared in my account instantly. Afterwards one of the women must’ve felt bad as she then proceeded to offer me the deal even without my voucher. I said no thank you I’m fine. They should’ve offered that to begin with. Not only was I given a poor reception upon entry but they made me feel as if I were trying to pull some scam when it was very clear that my voucher had not been redeemed.
Thank you groupon for your great service and I would not recommend Buddha Nails if you’re considering a service here… as hard as I work for my $ I’d like to give it to a business that appreciates my patronage.

Love this little place! The ladies are so nice and quick! My nails and toes look great for weeks after getting a mani pedi here! They have a great selection of Essie nail polish and have a great special, I think i do a mani, pedi and 10 minute foot message for $ 60. Can’t beat that in manhattan! Plus you get a punch for every visit that work towards a free manicure!

On a Monday morning I decided to take someone on a date to get her nails done and a bite thereafter before heading to work. It was cool for me because although I used to frequent the area a lot, due to my job being further away, I haven’t been able to visit Downtown.
Anyhow I took her to Buddha to get her (manicure)nails done. This is probably our third time here. We were first introduced to this place via a voucher of some sort that she received. I’d have to say in all honesty, we have yet to have a reason to complain about the service and the staff here — which is truly saying a lot. All utensils appeared to be very clean and sanitized if not new altogether.
The environment is pleasant yet not nearly half as pleasant as the staff who works there. They all smile and treat you like a client as opposed to a dollar sign like most other businesses dont, but should. The prices are very reasonable as well especially for the quality of work they do. She’s happy and that makes me even happier! We will definitely come back again within the near future as I totally recommend this venue to anyone who wants their paws to be pampered!

Avoid. Poor customer service. No greeting upon entry. I walked all the way to the back of the place since no one was at the front desk, only to encounter a stare down by a seated angry Asian woman with arms crossed, waiting for me to tell her what I wanted. Not to mention the working employees looking at me waiting for me to speak. I walked out. Despicable. After that I wouldn’t let them touch me. Came to relax after an 8-​hr workday to rudeness and confusion over what I walked into.

Unsanitary! Cut my foot! Had a cut on her hand!
This used to be my spot. No more.
1) The woman doing my pedicure cut my toe while filing the nails. Ouch!
2) She then proceeded to continue to put all the weird chemicals (lotions, oils, even ACETONE) on the injured toe. I asked her to please, please, don’t touch that toe again.
«Just leave the toe alone».
«Just a little red paint at the end but no more no more touching the toe» «
Please stop.»
3) She proceeds to continue to come back at my toe with more chemicals. I tell her multiple more times. DONT TOUCH MY TOE. She smiles, says yes, and then circles back later to fuck with my toe. I feel violated and stuck in the chair.
4) I then notice while she’s doing my nails that she has a BIG SCABBED SCRATCH on her left hand. Gross! This is unsanitary, etc. Even if I wasn’t bleeding from my foot, it would be gross. It’s worse if I’m cut. She should wear gloves. Or a big bandaid.
They are very nice here. I just can’t go back again.

Initially went in for a pedicure.
When I walked in, there was a bit of a pause. I was more looked at than greeted which was a little off putting (it’s always nice to receive a warm greeting). The lady that did my pedicure was friendly enough but a bit lazy. I actually had to ask her to scrub a little more which I never want to do because I know it’s not a fun job but at the same time, I was going in there for a very specific service: my pedicure.
I found out that the pedicure is $ 21 which is a bit pricey but I learned that a manicure AND pedicure is $ 25 so I went with that. Strange how a pedicure is so expensive though both services is just a $ 4 increase!
The woman that did my manicure was not really personable but not rude either. She was just in between and there which added to a so-​so experience.
While they did a good job on both my hands and feet, part of the experience of paying for a nail salon service for me is interacting with people that pride themselves in great customer service. For this reason, I am not rushing to go back!

I used to go Buddha nails for massage. All workers are nice and friendly. The price is reseanable. There are different package for massage. I definatly go back. Thank you.

The best place ever !!! I just told my husband I’m stuck with Buddha Nails II as long as I live here in NY !!! This is a great place ! First of all is very clean, newly painted it is a pleasure to go there, sit and listen to a relaxing music … and get wonderful manicure and pedicure ! Plus great massage ! My main manicurist is Jhabi, but sometimes during his absence I had it done by other girls… My cuticles were never — ever done –cut so well as he does ! Just try it ! …All manicure tools are new, individually packed and open in front of you so it feels safe and it is ! Secondly the way Jhabi does polish my nails, getting wonderful shape /​I never had/​, cutting cuticles and in artistic way painting my nails is more than regular manicure ! It is just a pleasure and every week I’m looking forward to it ! I do not have to even go every week because they stay beautiful for a long time — just so well done… I think it is such a delight to get it done so I’m back every week .
Atmosfere is very pleasant, so relaxing, everybody is smiling and happy and they get the work done PERFECTLY ! Prices are fantastic and every 5 visits you get a free manicure ! Can you ask for more ! Just try it and you will be thanking me :)

If I could give negative five stars, I would. Don’t ever go for a gel manicure is all I have to say. I’m going to have to soak my fingers for half a day now just to get all the paint off my cuticles and fingers. Children in 4^th grade finger paint more skillfully…

Buddha Nails was my go-​to nail salon for a year while I worked on 14^th st. It was close to work and I usually never had to wait. Plus, I’ve always had a great manicure there. The color seems to last longer than any other manicure I’ve ever had. Not sure why, it just does. For these reasons I kept returning. The price is the same as any non-​spa manicure.
The reason for 2 stars is because of the loud conversations the employees have while you are there. On multiple occasions, I’ve been the only one there as I go off hours and the employees would yell across the room to each other in really loud voices. Whomever would do my nails also would do this and was essentially yelling in my face. And they ALL do it (except one girl). It’s very rude and just plain annoying.
So for this reason, (it happens EVERY time I’m there) I no longer go to Buddha Nails. They need to work on their professionalism.
PS– When I purchased my Unilocal deal, they gave me a really hard time using it and embarrassed me. So I wouldn’t recommend buying one if you go, not worth it.

Ok so I walked in with a color in mind, and when I looked at their gel color selection I wasn’t impressed but too lazy to walk out.
Woman who did my nails was nice, but she kind of was doing a half assed job and I had to keep pointing out nail polish she missed on the side, things like that…
The place wasn’t really busy but she was rushing some things, esp with the manicure, she glued a spot that was chipping (after I asked her to put glue… Like was she going to just cut it without asking or paint over it?) um, also, she was pushing my cuticles back quickly which did not. Feel. So. Great.
She didn’t do a bad paint job and didn’t do a great one either. Then she left me at the dryer at the front… My friend came in because she happened to be a block away and I didn’t realize how much time had passed since we were busy talking but when I looked at the time, she had left me there for a half hour without checking up on me.
Massage chair was good though so pedicure felt nice.
Less than a week later my nail broke where I asked her to put the glue. She hadn’t even let it dry… There are half a dozen salons within 5 blocks, don’t go to this one.

I was in the neighborhood with some time to kill, and decided to get a manicure. Found this place through Unilocal,and decided to give it a try based on the four-​star rating. I wasn’t disappointed — my manicurist was friendly but not too talkative, the space is clean and comfortable and they’re well-​stocked in Essie and Opi polishes. My mani looks great, and hasn’t chipped yet even though I’m almost at the one-​week mark (this almost never happens for me). Prices are reasonable.
I’d definitely upgrade to five stars if I returned and confirmed that the quality of service and manicure are consistent.
