Glaze is right by the office so I’ll go occasionally if it’s what the group is feeling. I normally get their combo platter, which comes with two choice of meats over rice. But honestly, it might be my least favorite option in the area. It’s hard to describe, but everything comes off as kind of bland and dry. Combo lunch(1.5÷5): I’ve tried the chicken thigh, steak, and pork loin. Now the chicken thigh is actually not too bad, but the other two are surprisingly dry. The meat, sauce, and rice don’t really come together with a hot off the grill taste as you would expect from a teriyaki place. You need to drown it in sauce to have an acceptable amount of flavor, and even then it doesn’t taste all that much like teriyaki. The salad on the side has nothing going for it and is pretty out of place. — $ 12 — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — How food scoring works(very subjective, and relative to price) 1 — Given the price, no 3 — Worth, taste is on par with price 5 — An absolute steal, amazing taste and great value

Big fan of this place for lunch. They are a little hole in the wall with healthy food options(that are delicious) at affordable prices. I’m always up to go here.

I came during the lunch rush on a Thursday afternoon and ordered chicken breast over white rice with honey lemon dressing, total came out to $ 10.34. To my surprise, I received my order within 5 minutes despite the long lines. Did not appreciate the lack of organization of the line though. The space is already jam packed, so it made me feel extra claustrophobic. As for the food, sorry folks, I’m going to be the buzzkill. I really don’t understand the hype. I was attracted to this place due to pictures I saw on Instagram, but the flavors and texture of the food is subpar. When I finally got a chance to eat my dish, the rice had hardened and was difficult to chew on. I eat rice almost every day and I’ve never had this problem before. The«teriyaki» was not authentic tasting at all. I liked the honey lemon dressing, but they only provided one serving of it, which wasn’t enough to salvage my meal. Came here with high expectations and left disappointed.

Once upon a time I use to work a few blocks away from Glaze. Some dickbag former manager recommended this spot to me and it’s probably the only solid advice he ever gave me. Quick in, quick out. I always opted for the salmon or pork loin and was never disappointed. Some solid protein, some leafy greens and a nice helping of brown rice and I was re-energized to power through another day of cubicle hell. Nothing mind blowing here, just a solid lunch spot in Midtown East.

It was alright. Had he thigh. Nothing to write home about. The staff was sitting and just goofing off which I found annoying. I love teriyaki but this wasn’t as good as the teriyaki chicken bowls that I grew up with.

Tried this place out per the recommendation of a friend, and after 2 tries I just can’t get behind this place. I tried both the Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki salads and was left unimpressed. Small protein portions, a bit dry, and not much going on in the salad. It relies way too much on the dressings to kick it up. I also ordered the cucumber salad which was pretty tasty & fresh. Finally, I tried the goyoza and they arrived cold and stale. ‘nough said. There are people who swear by this place. Maybe I ordered wrong, or perhaps ordering delivery is a mistake. But those possibilities don’t intrigue me enough to return.

Service: Typical carry out service. Not overly friendly but not bad service either. The wait time for the food after ordering is good even when they are busy. Food: I love love the salmon teriyaki with white rice. The chicken thigh selection is good as well. All of the entrees comes with a salad and the dressings are pretty unique yet very good. I like the honey ginger dressing. Ambiance: Typical dine out NY lunch place. They have a few tables to dine in but no waiter service.

This place is really good for a quick bite or takeout for lunch. I was recommended by a buddy of mine and I was hooked. They make everything fresh, the prices are great for the sweet combos they have. I had the Teriyaki Salmon and Teriyaki Chicken with brown rice and salad. It was delicious and I definitely will come back to try the other stuff on the menu.

I’ve been contacted since the original post & informed that management of the location was notified. Haven’t been in a while, but speed of service, food quality & flavor are great here. Highly recommend if they stay open to the appropriate hours. Original post: This is the third time I have showed up to your location to find you closed early. And I’ve been here up until 10 before when you did stay open. Please either update your hours or stop cutting out early. I’m far less inclined to grab late dinners here if this keeps up.

Great for take out lunch, but also open somewhat late so you can grab dinner here to go as well! The salmon runs out early, but in my opinion, the steak is better.

This place is takes a commercialized spin on the typical teriyaki and offers many different teriyaki options over brown or white rice with a side salad. You can either get one teriyaki entrée for around $ 8 – 9 or a combo of two for $ 10. Makes for a great well-balanced, light and healthy meal, with a short wait time due to a steady stream of customers during lunchtime. Can’t think of any other casual dining/quick to order restaurant that rivals it in taste and health, so props to them for bringing a healthy spin to market on what would otherwise be a heavier and more oily pursuit.

Teriyaki chicken or beef over rice is their thing… Didn’t find anything particularly outstanding about the food here, so I’ve given it three stars when considering taste, quality, portion sizes, and price. When comparing the fare at Glaze to food trucks, hot food bars, and other restaurants in the area, I found the offerings at Glaze lacking in uniqueness. They specialize in teriyaki, but I can get the teriyaki dishes they serve pretty much anywhere and be just as content because their food really just wasn’t that great. However, I will say that they’re definitely better than the teriyaki chicken you get at Sarku’s at your local mall. Order– combo chicken thigh and steak over white rice Price– $ 10.89

Amazing to-go lunch spot in Midtown East, quality food for the cheap! I am so glad I found Glaze. It’s a great lunch spot, and food comes out quickly. For my first time, I tried the 2 teriyaki combo for $ 10. My meal came with salmon, chicken, a side salad and a dressing. I was blown away by the salmon — you get half a filet, and it was high quality. The chicken was good, and their teriyaki sauce is the perfect blend of sweet and flavor. I tried the white rice, but they have brown rice available(for the same price!) The dressing I tried was the carrot-ginger, and it was incredible. Just wish they gave you more than 1 tiny ramekin. They have drinks and sriracha to go, and a couple tables/bars to sit at if you want to stay. I also grabbed a punch card, to get a free teriyaki dish on my 9th visit. Visit this place, get a $ 10 high quality and quickly prepared meal, and enjoy your teriyaki!

Very solid lunch spot. All entrees come with a salad and they give you the option of white or brown rice for no charge(yay!). They have a $ 10 deal where you can get an entrée with any side(including gyoza!). I got the Chicken Thighs w/Brown Rice. The chicken was okay, it was a bit dry. I would have liked to see more teriyaki sauce on it. The salad I REALLY liked. Other Unilocalers seem to like the carrot ginger and honey lemon dressing, but I prefer my salad dressing to not be too sweet, so the sesame dressing was perfect. I also like how the salad is Mesclun Mix instead of Romaine Lettuce, which I am not very fond of. The gyoza was perfectly crispy, my favorite part of the meal. Sometimes I just crave gyoza/dumplings and every other place charges $ 5, and then I need to spend another $ 10 for an entrée. I can get my fix here and then some without breaking the bank. Overall, I am not a fan of the chicken, but I will be back for the salad and gyoza. An entrée, a good salad, AND gyoza all for $ 10 in midtown? This can’t be beat. However, I am only giving three stars since I only like the sides.

We had the teriyaki steak over rice and it came with a side salad. Terrible choice. The teriyaki sauce was salty and they were a little TOO generous with the sauce; it drowned the rice underneath. The steak was overdone. I also ordered the wok sauteed vegetables and made my entrée a combination. It probably saved my meal. It’s in a great location and the place is fairly clean. Everything is served in recyclable paper/cardboard. If I were to go back, I’ll definitely skip the teriyaki entrees and try the salads. Seems like my fellow Unilocalers are raving about the honey lemon salad dressing so I’ve got to try that!

Healthy and delicious — definitely a weekday lunch go-to location. Trying to forgo carbs, so I ordered the grilled organic salmon salad plate with Carrot Ginger dressing, which came down to a little over $ 10. I wasn’t that hungry, but the salad is not a lot of food — just 2 chunks of salmon over a decent sized bowl of greens. The salmon was quite tasty /crispy, and the dressing was amazing(has the consistency of mashed squash).

I’m finna glaze all of you with this Unilocal review real quick. Glaze is a kind of fast food place where they serve different types of protein with white or brown rice and spray teriyaki sauce all over it. I got the Combo #1 which is 2 Choices of protein(Chicken Breast, Thigh, Hanger Steak, or Salmon) which includes a salad. I got the Hanger Steak and Chicken Thigh with Extra Spicy Teriyaki. YOULLL! DAMNTHATWASHOT. IMSWEATIN! woo The steak was great and the chicken was juicy and all of it only enhanced by being drenched in a Fiery Teriyaki Glaze of Glory. The sesame dressing on the salad was pretty good too. For something so quick and convenient Glaze is great and I will def be back to try the salmon which I heard is good too.

Came here to pick up dinner for work and I thought it was amazing! I was actually really nervous about going here after reading all the negative reviews about the service but the cashier that I got was really nice. The only thing that left me slightly uneasy is that I got my order in less than a minute… meaning they premake it instead of making it fresh/to order. My order was the teriyaki steak over brown rice and side salad with honey lemon dressing. Surprisingly, the star of the meal was the salad! It was so good! The vegetables were really tasty and the honey lemon dressing was divine! It had a really great sour taste to it that I loved and thought really complimented the salad well. The steak, on the other hand, I only found to be alright, probably because it was premade and not made to order. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the taste of the steak and the teriyaki sauce was kind of salty but overall it wasn’t bad at all. The brown rice tasted good when dowsed with the teriyaki sauce. I ended up paying ~$ 11 for the meal so it is kind of expensive. But it just tastes so good! Next time, I’ll probably get the chicken instead of the steak and probably substitute the rice with salad instead because the salad with the dressing was amazing! It is highly likely I will be back :)

Ordered in a Teriyaki Box with All natural, antibiotic free Chicken Thigh over White Rice and Salad with Sesame Dressing. Pros: * For around ~$ 9, hefty portions that filled me up quickly. Cons: * There wasn’t enough sauce for the rice and I found the Teriyaki sauce too salty.
