Tanning Spa has various state of the art tanning machines, UV free Mystic Spray Tanning and for a personalized touch get Customized Air-​Brushing by one of our certified artists in Future Tan’s wet spa room.

As a seasoned hotelier it is important to me that any service being provided should have suitable customer services, friendliness, cleanliness, and knowledge of the product. I was seeking out a tanning salon preferably in the city, due to the pervious establishment which I attended closing. Upon performing an extensive Google search, reading various reviews, and a couple of telephone calls later, I narrowed down my choice to this establishment. Upon initial communication with Future Tan’s, I was greeted over the telephone by Amanda whom was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. She was just as polite upon meeting her. Thus far, my personal experience with her and the rest of the staff has been very pleasant. The establishment is clean, warm and inviting. I would certainly recommend Future Tans to others and continue to utilize their services myself.

I can’t believe this place has such good reviews, I was so disappointed. I got the airbrush tan there a week ago and it was a complete waste of money. I would have been better off doing it myself at home with self tanner or even yet doing it with makeup and a paintbrush. My tan came out uneven and much darker than I asked for (I asked for very light!). The worst part was that my face came out three shades lighter than the rest of my body. There were splotches on my hands and feet and parts of my legs were more tanned than others. I made the mistake to get this done for an important event and I really regret it. Complete waste of money. I had an airbrush tan done once before at another place and it looked really nice, so I can only think that this place uses a really cheap product. I don’t blame the technician, as she seemed to be quite thorough and I followed all of her aftercare instructions. The worst thing about this «tan» is the way it fades, in splotches. Looks like I have a weird skin problem. Can’t wait til it’s all gone. I leave two stars just because the people working there were nice but I do not recommend.

I got my first spray tan ever from Cindy yesterday. I was very nervous but Cindy made me feel comfortable quickly and did a wonderful job. I didn’t know what color I needed or what to do after and she explained it all and gave me instructions for post spray. I’ve showered and the tan looks great! Not sure how long it will last but it looks good to start!

I literally just started tanning today. I’ve never been to a tanning bed and honestly I felt a little intimidated. But the women who worked there made me feel very comfortable, she was just so sweet! I decided to buy the platinum one month trial for $ 99 (which includes all tanning beds) and also purchased a tanning lotion for $ 50 (regular price $ 100 but ½ off since I purchased the special package). Despite how busy it was at the time, she patiently talked me through the process. Also, the place is very clean and has a nice boutique feel to it.

This place has a lovely ambience. The girls’ customer service is absolutely wonderful. Truly refreshing in New York. Everyone who I came across working here offers a positive interaction.
As for the actual tanning (I can’t speak on the spray tanning) … I bought the intro package, which was something like $ 60 for 30 days unlimited tanning. Great deal, but I didn’t fully realize that of the few specific beds I could use, all had a limit of 10 minute session per day I could tan.
They did recommend this package for a base tan. I didn’t notice any darker tone in my skin. I never felt as if I got any color. Which actually, was never my intention as a customer. I only tanned a handful of times, mainly because I didn’t think it was working for my desired result. I came here with the hope of using UVB therapy to alleviate and treat eczema. (My skin condition didn’t really didn’t improve, but I knew that was unpredictable going into it.)
However, I do question the power of the «lower-​end» beds included in the intro package I bought. I’ve used tanning beds other salons in the past, for only a couple of minutes and immediately could see that I got color. I am confident to assume they have these powerful beds, just aren’t offered in the intro package. They did offer the resolution, I could tan longer or use stronger beds (if willing to purchase that option.) I just question whether or not the package I bought is genuinely beneficial, or just a way to get people in the door.
All in all, beautiful atmosphere… Really great customer service. I certainly recommend, just be prepared to upgrade if you get a «beginner» package deal.

The prices are great for being in the city, and the staff was really nice & helpful! The only thing you should keep in mind when going here is if you’re going for a mystic tan. They only have one booth for this, and it’s located right in the front of the store. It isn’t in a room with a door, but rather is smack in the middle of the entrance and is enclosed with curtains. Stripping down next to the front door when it’s 20 degrees out and you’re both cold & petrified that the curtain is going to blow open does not make for the best experience. I will, however, be happy to return because Future is clean, friendly, and price competitive.

One word… KIARA!!! I literally just downloaded Unilocal to write this review because she is so great (my first ever review in my 10+ years in NYC). She’s so thorough and always does an even spray tan. She’s also so great at recommending the best color and is fast. Literally the best personality and makes you feel very comfortable (I mean you’re basically naked so a must!). I seriously can’t say greater things about her or future tan in general (the other ladies are also just as friendly + great too). I would stop reading this and just book an appt with her! :)

After my review the owner contacted me immediately which in my book speaks volumes. I took him up on the offer to come back with a discount for a platinum level 1 month membership since I did really like the facilities to begin with and it is very convenient in terms of location, I agreed. I was very happy with the results as well as with the girls’ who helped me while I was there. They were friendly and accommodating and as I mentioned previously, kept very clean. Definitely will be coming back!

Can’t recommend any other tanning establishment in the city besides Future. More importantly Kiara is by far the best. She’s super fast, majorly pays attention to detail and ensures your tan is the most natural but AMAZING! Run don’t walk and ask for Kiara.

I have been coming here for my airbrush tan for around 5 years now! I travel no matter what borough I’ve lived in. Beautiful, spa– like environment! Anxious to try the teeth whitening next. Hand airbrushing is so brown and even you can wear comfortably for 24 hours before showering, tan lasts long. Beds are nice and relaxing! Great staff. Bravo, future tans!

I love this place for spray tans! Prior to coming here, I had only used spray booths like Versa so I was a bit anxious about an airbrush spray tan. I used a 2-​for-​1 coupon from their website and both experiences were terrific. Cindy and Amanda each did a great job of explaining the process, giving me tips, and matching the darkness of color to my preference. For me, it was definitely worth the price.

I’ve had a mixed experience here. First time I was happy with the staff and customer service. Cindy was very thorough and took her time, made me feel comfortable, dried me off with the warm air, gave recommendations like: don’t put your bra back on if you don’t have to because it can mess up the tan from rubbing and don’t carry your handbag over your shoulder. I did have some dark slightly messy areas on my hands which was a bummer
The second time I went I had Amanda. She really rushed through the whole spraying process then left me alone for five minutes to dry and barely dried me with the air. Then she left me again with instructions to stand there and dry off for 5 minutes at which point I realized she hadn’t had me lift my breasts to spray under them so I was left with white half-​moons.
Post-​script: As a follow up to writing this review I do have to say that Amanda called me within minutes of my posting this review to apologize and explain the situation (very busy and she was there alone) and offered me 50% off my next visit.

I’m a first time customer and I had a wonderful experience. I usually go to Beach Bum in Chelsea on 8th, but got a groupon and decided to give this place a shot. It’s a bit small, but that’s how everything is in west village. The two ladies working the front desk were super nice and gave me no issues redeeming my groupon. They also let me know specials that I can use.
I went in for spray tan with Kiera. Super great and friendly person. I told her exactly the color I wanted to get and I was in and out within 20 min. Usually I have to sit there and dry and I got blotchy, but not this time. She convinced me to use the express spray tan lotion which I have never we used before. I am able to shower within an hour of use and it has been the best discovery ever. Kiera layed on the tan evenly and with no blotchy spots. I would recommend her if you are going to spray tan.

Future Tan helped change the way I felt about indoor and spray tanning.
I have only had a spray tan 2 times before and my negative experiences with careless employees gave me an unjust generalization that all tanning salons were the same.
Fortunately, I gave it another try and the reviews for Future Tan were excellent and on point. The spot is charming, conveniently located, clean and the staff is very friendly.
So, I decided to get a spray tan here. As you can imagine stripping down, (where only an awkward cloth strip serving as bottoms separates you from your tanning technician) might be a little uncomfortable. Kiara however, made it not only comfortable, but comical.
The finished product? An even, golden tan, that I still have remnants of to remind me how much I wish I was still on vacation. Kiara (my own pocket sun goddess) will absolutely have me as a returning client.

Just purchased Future Tan’s special for a month of regular tanning beds. Salon is very clean and cozy. The first time I went, Alma walked me though everything and we even ended up chatting for a while (no one else was coming or going).

I came to Future Tan for a groupon airbrush tan.
Kiara was my airbrush artist. She was extremely nice and made me feel welcomed. She offered me a moisturizer package for $ 10 for onager lasting tan which I accepted.
She did a great job with tan, color, consistency and coverage.
The tan it self looked great. I did not shower for 12 hours in order to let it set in.
I am fair skinned and it made me look as if I was living in a tropical climate and had a nice tan/​glow.
I went swimming in the ocean as well as swimming pool and the tan lasted 7⁄8 days.
I would highly recommend this spa for airbrush tans as I have been to other places in the city and this is by far the best service.

Awesome experience. I had the handheld spray tan with Amanda and chose the express tan (develops in 2 – 3 hrs). The color was Gorgeous and the application flawless. Amanda was prompt, professional and really sweet.
My first time getting the spray tan here at Future Tan had only been my second time getting a spray tan ever. The color I developed after my Future Tan experience was much more natural looking and even than my other experience. I have been back to Future tan many times this summer. HIGHLY recommend.
I used to come here over ten years ago when I still dared to use the UV tanning beds and was a repeat customer then.
I was back to the area for the summer and needing a spray tan was pleasantly surprised to see that, while other salons have come and go, Future Tan is still here!
It isn’t fancy, but they are clean, very nice and do excellent work.
I highly suggest doing the pre tanning spray and using a post tanning cream. really helps the color last longer. My tan lasted almost two weeks while I was on vacation!
